      Oh hee hee. Yes, I am always full of mistakes. I don’t mind learning. I also don’t mind when others learn from my mistakes…and maybe giggle a little too

    Ohhhh I need this…& I’ll make one for each of my friends (high school friends who reconnected and get together for a long weekend once a year…won’t say how many years after graduation) I might add a little zipped pocket on the front for ID or credit card and some cash)….wooohoo…happy sewing

      @azaleasmom1 Před 3 lety

      Oh this is a great idea! I think I will try and finagle a zip pocket in there too. Not a bad place for a small ID card.

    What a great tutorial! You have plenty of pictures for visual learners, plenty of written material for people who like written descriptions, and you show a project that doesn’t require me buy anything new. I love the way you anticipated just about every mistake I might make!
    I have been doing Pinterest searches and pinning things trying to get the perfect set of directions, and here they are.

    Finally I found someone that I can follow and learn from! This is similar to what my mother used to do years ago. However she passed in 2018 and I couldn't remember how she did it. I knew it was easy. I've made 3 from other videos... but yours is not the same, but is similar and has the same vibe as my mothers! Thank you. I am defiantly following you!

    Nice, I was thinking D rings looked odd but cool you found a better solution and it looks better!

  • @heatherviars1526
    @heatherviars1526 Před rokem +6

    Great tutorial and I loved the fabric. Just a hint if you use the d-rings in the future, put them on the loop before sewing, they won't interfere with the stitching since they'll be in the middle of the bag and you don't have to fight opening and closing them

    • @laurajones338
      @laurajones338 Před 4 měsíci

      This was for her daughter and teens have to go through a lot of metal detectors these days.

    • @heatherviars1526
      @heatherviars1526 Před 4 měsíci

      @laurajones338 ok? That doesn't change how you attach the d-rings if you're going to use them on the bag. Instead of wrestling the things open with pliers or whatever and then having to close them again, you simply add them like I suggested and I've seen many bag makers do. If she used plastic ones, they don't open and she'd have to use the same method then as well.

  • @deborahtaylor3572
    @deborahtaylor3572 Před 3 lety +7

    I usually add the D rings when I sew on the tabs then there's no need to open the D rings.

    Too cute..and boo boo are creative use to show others what to avoid. Going to make one for my own phone, but putting one strap tab at top and one at bottom to make it stay closer to body...need these when taking my dog for potty walks and not have phone call into poo when leaning over to use dog bags to cleAn up after my little guy.

    You are an excellent teacher. I don't know of any college offering home economics as an endorsement. I hope your daughter eventually will love sewing & creating too. It is not really taught to students in high school anymore. Kids should be introduced to it early like in 5th grade & create something every year & take pics for a portfolio. So they can think about creating patterns & fall in love with in at a young age. God bless, Jo Ann

    Great idea and video. I love your sense of humour and would like to learn more from you! Could you do a video on how to make a waist band/belt to carry my phone, keys and poop bags for walking my dog or running with him? Women’s pants often don’t have suitable pockets or no pockets at all. Fanny packs bounce with running which can be annoying. Maybe you could help with some ideas? Much appreciated!
