    I am a newbie quilter and have made 2 of your quilts now! Going in for a third. Scrapy/crumb is such a great way to gain confidence and learn to quilt and sew. Thank you for making these videos and I miss your Thrift store videos too! So grateful and greeting from Sweden!

    Hey Tracy! Love the new phone bag project and your modeling of it at the end of your video! So nice to watch the snow come down and experience some of your fall/winter weather. Just not something we get to experience in So. Cal. unless we drive up to the mountains during a very cold winter storm from the far north. One of the things I really appreciate about your channel is that it’s not restricted to quilt sewing or garment sewing or small project sewing. The reason why you probably have 110K subscribers and your channel has grown so quickly is because you didn’t box yourself into a craft category corner. The term “sewing” could extend to several craft projects, which makes your channel so entertaining and educational to watch. Your subscribers don’t know what you’re going to do from week to week. I’ve learned so many things from your videos and can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store in the future. 🥰❣🤗

      We had a huge snow storm this week...We lost power...I wasn't even sure I was gonna get a video out. California probably never sees snow.❄️ I have lived with icy snowy weather my whole life.....
      If I had to only sew one thing Dori....I would go crazy...I'm so happy that people still watch my vids even though they cover a multitude of sewing project genres❤️

    It was neat to see this small purse posted today as I made my first crossbody purse today from your video of 7 months ago. I watched that video at least half a dozen times as my mind thought of ways to change it a bit to what I needed. I used flowered denim jeans, no stabilizer, seamed 2 pieces at the center point to actually make the fabric longer than 42 inches, adjusted the measurements on the folds to make it taller and used wider fabric to give more space. I think it turned out about 10" by 10". I realized that if I used two colors, seamed at center like you did on this new video, it can be reversable. I'm going to do a button hole and sew a button on both sides of the front piece. Oh, and I played around while folding pleats and figured out how to add pockets to the inside and outside. Thank you so much for these videos, I loved them!!

    Such a cute little purse. There are so many things to like about this simple sewing project, and one that I like is the fact that it allows you to use up some of the smaller pieces of fabric you have left over.
    And even though I know it had to be cold outside, you made it look like you were having a great, carefree time. It brought a smile to my face.
    Thanks for sharing your time and ideas with us...... Janet.

    Oh wow, look at all that snow. Where I live it never snows, in fact our winter is only about 15 degrees Celsius when it's deemed by us to be cold! Tracey this is so timely. I love it. I am going to make one for my daughter's birthday which is coming up in December. I have been thinking about this for a while and yours is so nice. It will be just the thing for her when she takes the dog to the dog park and other places where she doesn't need to lug a handbag. Also it will be good to take your phone and keys when going for a walk. Humm, need to make one for myself too. Thank you.

  • @suestutzle2779
    @suestutzle2779 Před rokem +1

    Hi Tracy, update on your crossbody phone bag... I made one for my daughter for her birthday which is in a couple of weeks. It turned out very nice. I bought the perfect strap from a bag from our Op Shops, your Goodwill shops. I even practiced some free motion sewing on it.... well, let's just say it's good the colours all blended together and the less of the quilting you see the better. haha but still I'm happy with it. A friend has made some phone bags for her walking group after a nasty incident where it would have been good for everyone to have their phones with them, so now they can all keep in touch should someone get lost or have a heart attack! I am making one for myself as I walk alone in the park near us and if something happened....like I get bitten by a snake...it would be good to phone an ambulance and the hubby. Thank you for this great pattern.

    i don't own a cell phone (only a land line). However, I have to work jobs where I have to leave my bag in plain sight (where someone could take anything in my bag, or the whole bag). A small cross-body bag (like this one) could hold my ID, key, cards, money and other small items; plus, it could stay on me under my sweater or jacket. This is another wonderful idea for making gifts for men, women, and children. It would be perfect for shopping, work, field trips, walking, day out at a park (or ball games) and for just keeping up with small, very important, items (inside larger bags). Thank you for another great idea.

She used this to hold the pieces together instead of pins. Just trimmed to put in place and trimmed it away when completed. I know you do hacks. I don't know. You may have known and used this hack. @@TheSewingChannel My granddaughters are older now I have like I think over 20 patterns for little girls dresses and all sorts of outfits I would love to gift them to you If you would accept them. Most I didn't get a chance to use they grow so fast. I can ship them to you I would pay shipping. If you say yes I can email you to get your address.

      I was actually thinking of trying to find a new little girl dress pattern that is easy for the "dress a girl" program. Go ahead and email me thesewingchannel33@gmail.com Thank you for thinking of me💛

    Do you mean “fusible batting” or fusible fleece? Cause I didn’t know they made fusible fleece. Where do you get it?

      Love this ! Could I make it a little bigger? To put keys in &a couple of small items? I’d love a tutorial on that or how to make bigger to meet my need

    I just found this video today, a year too late. Oh well at least I found it. I've made my own purses for the last 15 or so years, because I could never find one I really liked, with enough pockets or the right lining, etc. I like to frequent yard sales, thrift stores, etc, looking for reusable stuff. I find some really ugly purses that have really nice hardware, which is how I've gotten most of it over the years. One woman's trash........LOL. I do have one question: can you free-motion quilt the pieces before you cut them down to the proper size, or would that not work? (BTW...very pretty ring!)

    I thought this would be a quick and easy project, but all of that complicated measuring and folding in the middle turned me off. Great tip, though, regarding buying cheap purses at goodwill to get hardware.

      @@TheSewingChannel thank you - must have missed it at the beginning. I think I’ll make mine a bit wider as my phone is bigger and only use the fusible fleece on the outer fabric and a medium weight on the lining. Love how you boxes the corners! Thank you
