Thank you so much for sharing this crossbody bag tutorial for us! I made 4 of them last week! I wish I had had your pattern a year ago when I started making bags like this. Your bag is much easier to sew and the finished product looks much smoother. The patterns I found and made used French seams in them and zippers that went all the way into the seam lines, which made the seams very bulky. Your pattern is much better! These are great bags to use when flying, to keep just a driver's license and boarding pass in them, instead of having to go into my purse and pull out my wallet.

Thank you for this video. Your instructions were easy to follow. No pattern needed. I had the (not so bright) idea to box the corners a bit, but I failed to consider the effect on the front pockets. (hey, learn by doing and failing!) Well that was my "muslin". Here's a couple of my learnings from that and my second highly successful bag. (1) I pulled my bag through the liner, not the exterior (remember to unzip!). I left the bottom of the bag liner with a gap to do so. I made a divider pocket for the inside. I just took an 8x11 piece of fabric and applied SF 1010 to side of the fabric on the inside to give it more body. I also put interfacing on the exterior pockets--but just on the half closest to bag as I figured that would have wear. You could put a trim on your pockets to add nice detail to both the tops and the center. (make bias tape in a contrasting fabric). I cut my strap at 54" to account for the loops on the adjustable slide and the bag. I could not be happier with how it turned out. After admiring my handiwork, I decided that a 3/4 pocket on the outside bag back would be perfect (for airline tickets!). I cut a an 16 x 8 length (doubled over). If you are turning out your bag from inside out your front pockets may "disappear"....just turn the bag again so the outside pocket is where it needs to be.

I just made this bag and it's a perfect size. Added a zipper to the top of the front lower pocket for safety and did not divide the pocket in half. Watched the video three times and kept coming up with needing 5 pieces of 8" x 11" (front folded pocket, front face, back, lining behind front face and lining in front of back for when top zipper is open. What did I do wrong? Also, sewed in my strap instead of making it adjustable (less work!). Thank you for the wonderful instructions.

I just wrote down the instructions as she did them. Her dimensions are 8X11 for all 5 pieces of the lining, body and pocket. I made them a little bigger and put an inside pocket in the last two. (On the current bag, I'm putting it on the front lining instead of the back. I keep putting my hand in the pocket instead of the bag body. I'm hoping that will help) I did cut the fusible batting down an inch all the way around and centered it on the bag body. That made for less bulk. I also left the opening in the lining instead of the body. (If you do it that way, make sure to leave the zipper OPEN!) When I find where I put the front down, I'll finish my third bag! I struggle with installing the zippers, but I'm using an all purpose zipper which makes it harder, in my opinion, to get it to look as good as Kay's. I need to find some like hers, but they are more expensive. I'm also having trouble finding colors to compliment my fabrics. I guess since I have all the fabric I can invest a little more in the zippers!
Oh, I've also watched the video more than once!

I see that people have said that they have made this. Where did all of you find the pattern? I can't find it on the program web site, OR Ms. Whitt's web site.

She gives the dimensions at the very beginning. 4-8x11 pieces of fabric, interfacing, etc. all the same size, and a long zipper at least 9" long. So no "paper" pattern. I had to play it again to get that info.

I loved your bag but yall missed a couple of key points.
1, theres 5 pieces of 8x11 material needed not 4
2, you forgot to give measurements for the straps.even though you didnt show how to put them together it would help some of us out by giving measurements
3, when doing the zipper insert if it bunches up after turning you need to go back & clip further into seam.( google it)
4, you posted that on yiur web site that yiu have pdf's for patterns but not this one ( i was disappointed )
