- THESE INTERVIEWS AND TOURS WERE FILMED LAST WINTER
Today we are taking a tour with Andrew in his 2005 Toyota Sienna. Andrew shows us how we can all own less and live more! He has had this minivan for 6 months and just built it out with a bed and kitchen set up. Andrew is a digital nomad and definitely a minimalist. He took all the seats out of van and works at a small table inside the van as his office.

Thanks for watching!
I just took a shower with a 2.5 gallon garden sprayer.....ive lived in a minivan for over 3 years......im 59 years old in Florida......got some damage to my body so I live on SSDI $1100 a month and a little flea market flipping......im single so living is not expensive......life is good..... I'm happy.
What do you do to cool off in the summer ?
@@susanmorgan418 move North!
@@susanmorgan418 hi Susan.....I use a sturdy spray bottle with ice cold water and a small fan blowing on me while I park in the shade.....I have a 2 gallon drinking water cooler and a large yet I type cooler sitting where the front passenger seat was.....i wear light weight clothing and spray myself with the cold water and let the evaporation cool me down......same thing at night plus a bug net because I usually leave both side sliding doors open.... It's been very hot for the last three summers here in Florida but I do quite well keeping comfortable .....I also got the silver rolls of Thin insulation and carefully cut it to fit all the windows in the van....that helps reflect the sun too.....always try to park in some shade.....Im also near many cool springs on nearby rivers in the area and can go hang out there any time I want..... We have ice machines scattered about that sell ice cheap around town ... 20# for $1.25 -$2.00.......its not as good as having AC but it's not nearly as expensive as a house with an electric bill......I wear shorts and fluo flops too or go bare foot......I don't hang out in town either .......I have my regular spots in rural areas.
@@MeatPuppet1962 wear white or light colored clothing as well. It's amazing the difference it makes, especially compared to wearing black in the heat!
I am hoping to be in my van before the end of the year, and I am also on SSDI, but at $1090 mth. After ins, other car expenses, prescriptions, and food, there is no money for rent. I'm SO glad to hear you are able to do it. Makes me feel more confident that I can do it, too, if I can do a small side hustle as well! Thank you!
Great interview. I had to chuckle when he said, "It's still a work in progress. It's always a work in progress with this kind of lifestyle." As a 66-year-young woman, I've come to realize that LIFE ITSELF is always a work in progress!
I also loved his comment about his only other possessions being a few bottles of wine he's keeping at his parents' house. 👌🍷
"Own less, do more" We are still learning this fact. We lived full time on the road for over 6 years and then we started renting a RV site by the month and it has a shed. That shed is already full of crap after only 5 months of renting this space. Now I have to sell it all because we are already sick and tired of the demands of city living.
I just don’t feel like working anymore
We have only been full-time RVers since March and it is amazing how much junk you can still acquire. It is definitely a learned practice to keep getting rid of stuff for sure.
I adore this guy’s setup. 🤩 This Bob Wells he keeps referring to must be a clever man 🤪👍😊
I hear he's modest too lol 😂
@@herschelpowers5086 he’s a great help for many people, too 👍
@@herschelpowers5086 especially considering he is a movie star ⭐
Hes a knowledgable sweetie
I love how he acknowledges all the insights he received from Bob’s videos.
Amen, Bob deserves lots of credit from me, too, and lots of us. This gentleman might want to spend some more time with Mr. Wells's insights on Reflectix and refrigerators. Congrats to him for putting this together and getting out on the road!
"This Bob Wells guy is pretty smart huh?" Lol! I love these videos so much! Thanks!
❤️
He's the kind of person who finds a way to live a good honest life.
This guy is a natural nomad.
He did his homework & let his curiosity & yearning for freedom show him the way.
Engaging & smart young man.
Thank you both for a great video!
👏
Love the portholes in the Reflectix. Great job, Andrew.
Midwesteners like their cribbage 👍👍 A very articulate, well-mannered and respectful young man who has a very good grasp of minimalism. I loved when he mentioned how one’s senses are heightened when cycling s compared to when in a moving vehicle, so true from a fellow cyclist 🚵♀️
I love motorcycling for those reasons as well (cannot tolerate a full-face helmet either).
@@jodybogdanovich4333 I never thought about that on a motorcycle too, good to know.
Perfect for one person or two people who really like each other. ☺️
I love to see extreme minimalist. Probably partly because I love to see the levels of extreme minimalism that exist. But I heart his setup. Not cluttered..space..it works
I appreciate how he said this life is always a work in progress.
So true!
Indeed I’ve been living this way since childhood am Tuscarora Natives has lived this way for centuries
for his slide out table in the rear, perhaps a telescoping shower rod or something to that effect to prop up the table so it can be level even if the ground is not.
I tried that - too unstable. I'm currently working on another solution, because yeah, that dowel thing doesn't do a great job.
@@ThisLandHasMrE I can see that, maybe a combination of something telescoping with a wider foot print for stability. 2 pieces of wood, one being shorter than the other so it can rotate inside the larger piece to fold up and take less space for storage. The larger piece would need to be extended on the end so it touches the ground at the same point the shorter piece does. I hope that makes sense. Something like a folding Christmas tree stand with adjustable pole.
@@ThisLandHasMrE Maybe hit up a plumber who might have some PVC pipe scraps he is going to toss. You could couple some short lengths together as needed to attain the appropriate height? (Not sure how little PVC you can buy in a store or what it may cost . . .lightweight, too). Recycle, reuse, repurpose 😊
Ya! I thought adjusting clothing pole.
Smart guy! May I say... “An Old Soul”
Bob, it is nice to see young people enjoying life. Thank you 🙏. Being curious is such a Joy!
nice guy, smart ideas that work for him. I hope he is happy and has connections with the Nomad community. Take good care of yourself, Andrew! Thans for sharing Andrew and Bob.
Curiousity, creativity and adaptability. That's what i got from watching both videos.
👍
Refreshing to see young people living so minimally and enjoying life! The key seems to be organization.
👏
@Darris Nelson Hey Darris!! I love this guy, so positive.
@@chasingsimpledreams hey lady! 😀❤️ He sure is and seems so grounded.👍🏻
Inspiring. A nice reminder that it doesn't have to be perfect to enjoy vanlife.
What a nice young man living so freely and functional on very little. Truly enjoyed his input and I love how he mentioned he's learned so much from Bob. Clever build.
As a fellow cyclist, Andrew has a great budget setup to live the lifestyle and travel!
The freedom of living light in a small van in good weather is fabulous 💕
I love that he has watched your videos and applied them to his life to see how it works. He is really full of adventure! I also like that usb spout he made on the water. i've never seen that before, and will add that to my wish list!
Minimalism is shorthand for not having much and being very well organised with it!
This guys setup is incredible. love the minimalist lifestyle
I love the space print curtain ... so cool
And how he applied the fabric to his ceiling and added little lights. Indoor stargazing!
I'm meeting so many cool people on the road.
I love spring and now life is blooming!!!
What an inspiration. Thumbs up from a holocaust survivor in the 70s. "Earth lends us a grave. Heaven lends us a soul." DALM
👏
Beautiful ceiling lights and pic!
Lifes lesson...you dont own 'stuff', it owns you.
So true!
👍
Wow that really hit home with my situation
TYVM FOR SAYING THAT
Wish I could get my husband to understand this!
Exactly. The more stuff you hace, the more you have to clean, dust and make room for. Every day i try to have less. Not easy especially doing away with my books. That is really hard.
I really like interview in one video n tour in another.... Great idea. 👍
I love Cribbage so much, nice to see a young person who plays. :) It's the only game I have on my phone.
👏
Very Cool and vey minimal living .
Bob, you really have a neat life style
and so do the people you meet and interview.
Man, if lemon juice covers some of the vinegar scent I am totally stealing.
Great setup and ideas! That window 'peep hole' is great!
Thank you for sharing honey!
Very nice and humble guy , cool interview Bob.👍🏽
Very interesting, thank you for sharing much appreciated.
If we ever run to each other, will play a game of cribbage !
I love the little port holes in the reflectics. Brilliant!
Only just watched nomadland , just wanted to tell you Bob that you are a really incredible person ❤️
appreciate Andrews outlook on life, travel, living!
I'm going back to this as soon as my house closes.will never buy a house again, too many damn fees and taxes.im in the Mohave and taxes and fees keep going up.only rich people in the lake Havasu area can live here without worries.im out.great setup!
I thought land was dirt cheap near 29 palms same as Lake Havasu
So smart of you to design your privacy curtain with a rod that does NOT ruin the effectiveness of your side airbags!!
I've seen hundreds of minivan designs and you are one of a handful at best, that doesn't compromise their safety by sticking hooks, or screws, or metal pieces into the plastic covers.
Good for you!!!
As always thank you for sharing everyone's setups with us. Always nice to see all the ideas everyone has.
I SWEAR by the bucket pipe liner method taught by Bob Wells a few years ago....cheap, sturdy, small enough to hide.....thank you Bob
Another fantastic video, the way he has done his privacy curtain has solved one the issues of not fixing to the head lining, so simple
Very nice guy! Great set-up!
Always interesting info and ideas! Thanks Bob.
lots of new info and great build
Dig the cut outs on the window covers. Like work desk indoor/outdoor. Very organized and minimal 👏
I love it. The men just roll with the toilet right out where it belongs !!!!!!
Excellent interview! Thank you for the inspiration 🙏
Great video Bob. Thank you ✌🏻
Very nice, he has what he needs, Safe Travels, Many Blessings
Excellent setup thank you for sharing
So awesome as a r v living start. Thanks for sharing. Be happy travels
Just a mini van, this thing is Great
Yes packing cubes that’s what I use

What a neat guy!
Well spoken, curiosity also helps to remove the falacies we are surrounded by
Really COOL setup, but your ceiling is SUPER COOL
Great simple set up! Thanks for sharing!
So many videos help me reconsider my build...this had some really good thoughts! I love seeing these are Truly Minimal.
Wow-wow-wow! Fantastic set up!!! Love it! God Bless!
Great video Bob, what an interesting young man!
I love this build out! Simple and perfectly functional! 🤩🤩🤩

Thank you 😊
Wow, simple and efficient. Lots of great ideas here.
Awesome setup!
I really enjoyed this tour. Thanks Bob!
Great minimalist ideas.
Thank you.
Inspiring Video!
What you said about cycling, we say the same think about riding motorcycles, you hear and smell things differently. Driving a car is like being in a movie, riding a motorcycle is like being IN the movie.
Ver informative!
Very nice set up! Great idea to keep the 40% seat.
Very minimalist and well sorted. Well done 👍🏻
I LOVE this video!! I used to play cribbage and was kinda good at it... And I loved it when this guy said "this fridge maybe coming to you on a Craigslist near you!" He's my kind of a person!!!
Thanks for sharing
Amazingly nice design
Lovely van build!
I love this!!!💘
Another great video sir.Thank You.

Smart fella and nice set up, clever ideas!
He is a very grounded young man!

WOW. He is a minimalist.
Andrew. Mr e. Is my favorite I really enjoy his humorous knowledge nice guy
Nice job 👍
Thankyou from the uk x
Nice!
Nice set up. Efficient & minimal. Best wishes
Bob has changed so many people's lives for the better. It's fun to see people touring the country using basic camping setup. Shows you don't need to spend $100000 to buy or build an expensive rv or camper van to experience life
Really loved this guy's simple set up - and dedication to coffee. Ha ha ha. Makes me realize I have a lot of clothes to pare down!
Love the set up
nice build.
