- If you've been debating if you are able to do your own van build and then support yourself on the road, today's video should help you answer that question with a huge, "YES I Can!" Jody is an artist that was ready to live a better life and just KNEW that life was waiting for her in a van! She found a great used Ford van and a great price and did a simple, cheap van build herself, and moved in!! She hasn't regreted it for a second since! Cheri Monteith When you are feeling fearful it helps to deep breath with your diaphragm in order to fully feel and release the fear. Once you do that you will be able to get to the causal emotion and that will be release through crying. Good luck and God Bless

Jody knows how to improvise well. A Quiet speaker but I learned a few things from her. I'll use the 5 gallon solution too. It's taller than the 3 gal. And maybe fits the seat better. Thanks Bob for interviewing Jody for us.
She seems like a very kind lady. These gals doing things themselves are so helpful, especially those of us you wouldn't be able to afford to pay someone to help us build these things.

Jody sets a good example! So many people doubt themselves to the point of never getting started. I think the best advice anyone has given concerning van dwelling is to "just do it". You'll learn as you go and can improve your layout as you learn. If you wait until all the lights are on green you'll never leave your house.
When you say, a lot of women don't know how to build! A lot of men don't either!!!! I applaud you for your fortitude!

What a great woman doing all that wood work and had never before
I’ve seen on ‘other’ channels welding an aluminum structure to make all the cabinets and working surfaces. Lots of work and by the time they have finished they have spent 100’s if not thousands for the materials and tools to do it. Once you do the welding you can’t change the layout unless you put in the effort to break it down. This method of using a drill and a hand saw seems much smarter. You can always finish the wood with paint or clear finish.
I really like those shelves and table she built.very simple and practical.

I keep downsizing, and Bobs videos of so many people is invaluable. I once thought 660 sq ft was minimal, now I am going to 120 sf and thinking it's luxurious. Thank you, Bob!

Delightful woman and a cozy, functional build. a credit to her creativity. but as a traveling artist myself I was excited to hear about her art on the road and to see her "studio". but I was to be disappointed, sadly. I hope she is still painting her landscapes and wonder what medium she uses.

I'm giving the van life a serious amount of thought. Jody has been an inspiration. The bed is something I have been concerned with, since I'm 6'2". I do have a 21 foot camper but I really like the idea of moving around with less expense and more freedom. Thanks for what you do, it does help. If you see Judy thank her for me.

I applaud Jody because rather than just stop when she ran up against something she didn’t know how to do, like most people do, she pressed on and now she’s self sufficient and free.
Love the idea that she took out the front seat. Huge amount of space opened up.
Love the fold-out door mounted table idea! I'm currently in a Ford Van and really appreciate your use of all the available space. I've also toyed with the idea of removing the passenger seat for more usable space. After seeing your table set up, I'm convinced!
