It’s like come on yall. They really up there talking like the Giants have absolutely nobody at QB. The man still went and won a playoff game.
Everyone talked up T Lawrence, Trey Lance, J Fields, Z Wilson, and Mac Jones. Out of that whole QB class only T Lawrence is still a starter. He went #1 just like Caleb will go #1. Thereafter, the 49rs traded away the farm to get Trey Lance. That's basically what the Giants would be doing to move up. Sometimes doing nothing is the best option. Rank the players and take the best one who falls.

Not in reality. They still hype Trevor Lawrence as if he were the best prospect ever.. Trey Lance was hyped but he really has a strong arm. He has good size and he can rush. With minimal opportunity, he was disregarded and even criticized.. They hyped Zach Wilson as if he were Aaron Rodgers.. Subsequently, Justin Fields fell in the draft after being deemed the 1st/2nd best quarterback prospect his entire tenure in college.. They undervalued him. I wasn't even aware he's a great rusher. It's already easy to argue that he's the 3rd best rusher at quarterback. Mac Jones was hyped coming into the draft and during his rookie year, they compared him to Tom Brady. He even made the pro bowl..
Daniel Jones is not good. They will not win with him. He's hindering New York. Whether they sign a quarterback later or not, they need a quarterback now.

That was on the 49ers because as a Div 2 QB everyone knew they were taking a chance at trying to land Wentz 2.0 when everyone thought Wentz was legit. The rest of those guys just went to bad franchises or very bad situations. I agree though that they'll maybe get the 3rd QB off the board which is ok this year because after Caleb is pretty much a coin toss on if any of them will be a good starter in the NFL.

What they are failing to realize is that any QB they draft will still back up Daniel Jones for this year. Therefore, drafting a WR to help this year is the best route to win this year.

We might as well keep him and get a qb next year. Either get a weapon a 6 or trade back and get additional picks and get day 1 starters. We already have to pay him. We might as well get whatever use and build the team up so that way when we draft a qb next year, he will come into a very good position.

Yes, reaching for a QB with the 6th pick just for the sake of a QB is a great idea. Last time we did that we ended up with... you guessed it, Daniel Jones.

The only QB taken before Daniel was Kyler @ #1. That was a weak, very weak QB draft. This draft is not. Either pick a qb @ 6th or trade down and get more picks to build the team and draft a qb next year. Definitely do not burn picks to trade up.

Drafting a QB when you have other major issues, is simply coaches buying themselves more time and pandering to the fan bases with a shiny new toy thinking a QB is going to solve everything. It doesn't . Drafting a QB to save your job when you have so many other issues buys you 2 seasons, this year and next year to get your rebuild done. If I am the giants I am hoping the Vikings trade up to 4 or 5 and grab a QB so nabers or MHJ drop to me or I am trading back with the Vikings for their 2 firsts, grabbing the best WR available or penix/ nix at 11 then at 23 trying to get a WR at 23 or a lineman.
This is gonna be a fun rewatch in January.

honestly giants should look at the possibility of trading back if a team like denver or vegas offers something and take a OT. No matter what position they take on offense they will not be set up for success if they run out the same oline as last year. Take a receiver at the start of the 2nd and let jones play out this year then explore your options next year with a better set up for whatever qb comes in after him.
I mostly agree with you, the only way I think they should take a QB is if Dabol is absolutely in love with 1 of the guys they can get this year but if they plan to play him and let the young guy get CTE behind that line next year there's no point in that either.
I really think they should be trading with the Vikings to get 11 and 23. They could maybe get Nix at 11 then OT at 23 or CB at 23
@@ahastar1141 I think the only qb they should consider is pennix unless they are trading up. Nix just doesn't look like he has that big of a ceiling to me and more likely than not will put us in the same situation we are now 4 years down the line. Pennix at least looks to have the potential to be elite if he stays healthy and can learn to be more comfortable inside the numbers near the box.
He can be a great backup quarterback...Jones can still give you at least 5 win games per season

Yes Daniel Jones is not the answer but Giants need a LOT OF THINGS. They should move back up and get some more draft capitals to fill up the roaster. They need OLine, WR, LB, Safety (they lost McKinney), RB.

I love how Daniel Jones and Mac Jones have both made the playoffs with no weapons , but Feilds was so great to the media and everything wasn't his fault.
Based on how Daniel Jones' contract is setup it would be wise to suffer with him in 2024 and then cut him to save cap space in 2025. If the Giants want a QB then they should pick one in the later rounds but the earlier picks need to be used to address other issues on the roster.
Don’t go for it at 6 overall. Grab a star WR and gradually improve on your qb situation overtime. Remember, the chiefs had Hill and Kelce before Mahomes came to town.
I don’t care how you do it but the Giants have options. They could keep squeezing everything they can get out of Daniel Jones, make him run the ball like his life depends on it.
But honestly, I personally would move on from him and try to find a qb with higher upside, without wasting prime draft capital. You could find a qb in free agency or trade for a mid-level starter or backup qb (remember Brock Purdy was a backup and he was almost a free agent too).
Also, there are some nice young backup QBs in the league right now that Daboll can develop until you have a better option. Tyson Bagent comes to mind.
And if you don’t want to take a chance on young guy, grab a veteran backup qb.
DO NOT waste a draft pick on Bo Nix when you could have MHJ or Nabers (and this is coming from someone who actually likes Bo Nix).

If the Giants can't get MHJ, they better trade back and take the best DB. The defensive front is solid, get some help on the back end. Use the 2nd and 3rd to draft offense and see if you get someone solid and start building the offense next off season along side Hyatt and Robinson. No one player in the draft can help that offense. but if they can create a top 5 defense... they may have a shot in the division.
I actually think a trade they could make is with the Vikings for their 11th and 23rd. Still gives them a chance at a QB or WR at 11 then maybe a QB at 23 if they didnt grab one or trade that pick for extra picks in the 2nd to grab lineman and or CBs.

If you draft a QB you are in theory starting your " super bowl window" as teams with cheap rookie QBs are able to pay stars around them to hopefully get to the super bowl before the rookie QB has to get his bag. Are you telling me that if the Giants take a QB right now, they'll have enough pieces to hit their super bowl window in 4 years assuming this year is kind of a wash? Not to mention picking an older rookie knowing its gonna be a few years before the team is even gonna be right for a rookie to have a chance? Foolishness. It's crazy because none of them do not watch New York Giants football. Daniel Jones came into the league with no wide receivers and no offensive line. Every good quarterback in the NFL today has an average line and a wide receiver. Joe Schoen brought in offensive lineman through free agency and now he drafted the best wide receiver. All I can say is watch Daniel Jones cook in 2024. He has Malik, WanDale, Hyatt, Slayton and Darren Waller to throw to with a descent running back in Singletary. This offense will be a force to reckon with in 2024. Go Big Blue
Get your WR1 in rd #1 and get Joe Milton later on. If Josh Allen had so many issues in his 1st 2yrs in the league but had success with Daboll, then I believe Joe Milton can have success with Daboll too. He's the same size as Josh and has a cannon like him too.

Joe Burrow is the most accurate passer in NFL history so far. And I. 2019 at LSU he had a completion percentage of 76.6%.
If Slayton had competent QB play all year he would have been a 1000 yds receiver. He averages over 14 yds per catch and has had over 700 yds per season the last two years when he was the second and third option behind Saquan and Jones running the ball every other play. And Acho needs to do his homework before he comes on TV, Larry Fitzgerald had Kurt Warner and Carson Palmer throwing to him 10 out of the 16 years that he was there. Giants need to get a QB period. They have already addressed the O-Line through free agency and coaching, they have good young receiving core, and a good defense. They can add another receiver and DB in the later rounds. They had Odell which was a top receiver at the time, and they had one playoff appearance. He was entertaining but the Giants didn't win a lot.

If the Giants trade up they won't have picks to build around that QB and build the rest of their roster. Can't force a QB pick just for the sake of it and that's what happened with Gettleman in that same spot drafting DJ at 6. They'll have to move up and the capital they'd have to give with pretty much stop them from improving the rest of their team. I can't imagine JS going to ownership after paying DJ last year to ask if they can mortgage the farm to move up and get another QB and already have a crowded QB room with 4 QBs. Mara and Tisch would have to be looking at these guys crazy like... "We signed off on signing DJ and now you want us to be ok with mortgaging the farm for another QB?" Not only does that sends a bad message and create a lot of unnecessary drama, this would be a "we f***** up" moment. That doesn't even include the other holes on this team that they have. You can't mortgage the farm and expect to build out your roster, plus he's not even going to start day 1 anyway if DJ is healthy.
I just don't see the Giants mortgaging the farm to try and outbid the Vikings for a QB who have more assets to give.

The giants dont NEED a qb, they WANT a QB. Teams like the Patriots, Washington, Denver and raiders need a QB. Joy saying the need a QB like the Giants don't still have the same guy they thought a season and a half ago was worth a 100Mil extension and still has zero talent to throw to. A QB is a shiny toy that's fun to bring in to a team that's struggling, but they dont NEED a guy like the need other pieces on this team.

Shady is bitter because RBs do not get paid. Greg Jennings doesn't have any issue with Jones who is indeed mediocre at best because he was a actually good wr. @@ahastar1141 there are 7 teams that need a first round QB. Those teams being the Bears, Commanders, Patriots, Giants, Vikings, Broncos, and Raiders. Out of all of those teams the Giants-Broncos-Patriots are the only ones who don’t have a WR1

While the giants and Vikings need a QB of the future and have a stand in for this season, they differ in that MN really just needs a franchise QB. Their offense is set in that they have the receivers, the online and the coach, but just need their guy. The giants need so much that it kinda reminds me of Carolina drafting young with no one around him. If I was the giants I’d be looking to grab a top Wr or gain extra picks to expedite my rebuild over drafting a QB into a terrible situation
@@ahastar1141 I beg to differ. Daniel Jones on the giants is no different then Sam Darnold on the talented Vikings offense. They both badly need QBs but the difference is the Vikings already have a WR1 and a WR2. The giants need a WR1 and a WR2 so if they don’t take a QB it’s gonna be one of the big 3 WRs as they need a WR as bad as they need a new QB and with Sam Darnold on the Vikings and Daniel Jones on the Giants, now’s the chance that both teams have to draft a QB and not need to start them immediately
