There are big benefits to being the QB of the Cowboys that go beyond their playing days. Tony Romo never went to any championship games except as a guest or commenter but big part of the reason he got his gig on CBS is because of being the Cowboys QB for years. Joy and James both know the QB market is different from other NFL players plus Dak has already been the highest paid at his position at one time and this would be his 2nd big contract. Unless he falls off the map does anyone honestly think he's going to make less than $42 to $45 million a year for his next contract? Anyone? Cousins coming off an Achilles injury at 35yrs old signed a 4yr/$180 million. Dak is 5 years younger with a better record. If the Cowboys won't pay him someone will. Kirk Cousins has never reset the QB market and has never asked top-dollar. TBH, I don't think the Vikings or Falcons or Commanders have ever paid him as upper echelon QB.
