Radiologic technologists are trained in the use of different types of medical diagnostic equipment. They may choose to specialize, such as in x-ray, mammography, or computed tomography (CT) imaging. Some radiologic technologists provide a mixture for the patient to drink that allows soft tissue to be viewed on the images that the radiologist reviews.
Take x-rays and CAT scans or administer nonradioactive materials into patient's bloodstream for diagnostic or research purposes. Includes radiologic technologists and technicians who specialize in other scanning modalities.

I’m applying next month, super excited
Is there an online school you can recommend?
Hello Sir, if I do emt course in india and it will accept in USA
what is the difference between a sonographer and tech? Also, what is the best program... also fastest for radiology tech? I already have a BA and Masters in Social Work and would prefer not to go get another BA. :) thanks!
Hi Yubani this is random but why are you choosing to leave social work? I am stuck between this field and my MSW
@@tendays456 hi! Hmmmm... I guess I just want something more lucrative. The higher paying SW roles are once you are licensed. I want something different more hands on and perhaps with the ability to travel and make more money. :) So you're deciding whether to go this route or msw?
Fastest program is the military. It was 46 weeks in total and I still comfortably passed the arrt exam.
can you do MRI Tech
Can you make video surgical tech
I wish they'd start separating MRI Technologists from radiologic Technologists. I want to see MRI as a stand-alone field given the different physics and job dynamics.
I think it’s b/c it’s very intertwined that it may not make sense to differentiate between the two, but you do need additional edu for MRI Tech and they get paid more (for the extra education) so it does get confusing.
currently going to school for this =)
Nice! Good luck!
How is it? Debating whether or not to get into this, I feel kind of old to start I am 35 😆
@@Lovepeaceandchickengrease Haven't started my program yet as I am still finishing the last of my prerequisites, but going good so far!
Can you study this with a GED or only high school diploma
@@user-bo3wv2id8kmost require an associates degree
So if you already have a AA or BA in a non related field and decide you want a career in the medical field, is that in your favor??
So I have an AA in Computer Support. I hate working in IT, and kinda knew I would once I got about halfway through the 2nd year. I've decided to go back to school to become a radiology tech because it's what I originally wanted to do in the first place, but I got talked out of it by friends in the medical field. Anyway, I've found that so far, any previous schooling will only help you with the Pre-Reqs. I'm still going to have to go to school for 2 years to finish the radiology program at my college.
I can't say for sure I can only give you my experience, but if you want a job in the medical field, 6oull probably need some more schooling
If you have a BA you can go straight into a mri program
How can I prepare ARRT
Do the research which can be found at the ARRT website. czcams.com/video/Vbv6qGUCkCA/video.html
How long does it take to become a radiologist?
I’m currently looking to do the same so I’m still learning everything but to my knowledge I’ve seen programs of 2/3 years!
isnt radation harmfull
Radiation is everywhere, from the sun, from your phone, from lights. I think a better question would be “how can I reduce my harm from exposure to ionizing radiation?” Ionizing radiation being the only form of radiation that is harmful, but that only comes from the sun, and X-rays. X-rays are low dose though and they keep track of how many a patient has to reduce harm.
Trying to get ready to go to school for this
Same! January 9th 2023 my program begins 😁
Same here😖I’ll finish all my prerequisites next year and hopefully i get in. Good luck to you both!
Are you going to apply or did you already get in?
@@dpaper7962 Good luck D Paper!

Middle class income for a two year degree is not low. Also, you can easily make 6 figures if you work overtime for the non-lazy people
@@Eagles883 Sheep. No one should have to slave away their life and do overtime to make a livable wage.
@@Eagles883 "non lazy"=people that have life's out of work that they value.
I love to get started can you connect me please thanks
