Wow. If I had a wife who openly told me if her husband came back from the dead that she'd divorce me all because her kid called me dad, I'd tell her "I'll save you the time. We're done." That is arguably the worst thing to say to your spouses face.

That story is actually so much worse. OP clarifies in the post's comments that her husband has been celibate since his late wife died, they've never had sex and that doesn't bother her, because she's never had sex, so she can't miss what she's never had. The dude legit just married a nanny for convenience. OP says in comments over and over again that she's too ugly to ever find someone else, so she's happy having even that relationship. She's not going to divorce him or go anywhere.

I know right? He knows his wife can’t come back to life and he’s grieving because of course he’s forever feeling the loss of his dead wife but he can’t accept the fact that his kid sees OP as his mom. Why did he remarry if he didn’t want someone to “replace” his dead wife.

  • @WiloKun

Story 3: "If my wife came back from the dead, I would divorce you in a second!" Lady. Take that as the MASSIVE red flag it is and divorce him first. That is NOT the kind of thing you need your husband thinking. That man needs therapy, and you need to protect yourself in some way (if divorce isn't the option you want to go with, there are plenty of others). It would suck for the kid to lose the person he considers his mom, but your husband revealed that this is not he loving marriage you thought it was.

      @LifesGuardian Před 4 měsíci

That is assuming he's a creep.
There are medical conditions that could be at play that OP might not be aware of. She was right to tell the wife and call the cops if she thought the child was in danger. If there was evidence of wrongdoing, then they can make the call about what to do with the father. If not, then she just outted a man as a "p-word" wrongfully and that bell can never be unrung.
There are conditions that make a little girl's privates try to seal shut. The treatment is thorough cleaning of the area and application of some sort of creme. From the point of view of someone who didn't know about it, it can certainly look inappropriate, but it's actually quite necessary. You going to tell a father that he can't take care of his own daughter?

Regarding the story with the dead mom: that boy lost her when he was tiny and if he remembers her at all, it's very little. She has always been a dead idol to him, he's been at her grave every weekend for his whole life and the moment he shows his stepmom love, his dad absolutely chews her out instead of looking inwards and realizing that the child's mother is in his life. The woman who birthed him might not be any longer, but that doesn't mean he doesn't love a living human like he would have loved her, had she still been in his life. The dad needs therapy.. it's just no longer a normal grieving process if it's this raw after 10 years..

It is bizarre because throughout the relationship, she started showing similar signs. She was even saying "people have a right to choose suicide" whilst taking antidepressants.
During a vacation to Machu Picchu, I ended up saving her life. It wasn't glorious or anything, i just kept her from going on a hike that was too high into the mountains as she was beginning to pass out. This resulted in her picking a fight with me and we broke up when we got home. I don't know how to word this any better, but it feels like I may have actually averted a suicide attempt and she broke up with me for it. Not sure how to feel about that...

A big part of the reason why abuse and toxic behavior is still rampant is because people, especially the family, try to keep it under wraps! "Oh, that's a private, family matter" is toxic speak for "we don't want the family to look bad to our friends, community, and congregation, so you just stay quiet so we can pretend it didn't happen", just like "be the bigger person" means "we don't want to deal with the other guy's attitude and meltdown, so just appease them", and "keep the peace" means "put up with the abuse and toxic behavior so nobody has to deal with the actual problem"! I understand wanting to respect the child's privacy, but I would want to know if there's a threat to my child's safety in the community! I know enablers like these who either blame the victim or deny that it actually happened, even though the perpetrator is still in prison. "Oh, the girls lied" or "he didn't get a fair trial" are the bull$h!t excuses they use to defend the R-word-ist! A few times a year, maybe even once a month, I get it. However, this guy is not only actively wallowing in his grief, he is insistent that both he and his son *stay* in that immediacy of grief. I would be very interested to see the son's opinion on how he has never been allowed to process his mother's death from an older, more removed standpoint. And of course, the son is being denied a maternal figure on top of all this. He will grow to resent the dad, no doubt in my mind.

He looked after me when I broke my elbow (first night I woke up after 4 hours of sleep from pain and I couldn't open the pill bottle so I laid on the couch) my stepdad came out and asked what I was doing on the couch this early (it was around 6 or so in the morning, I normally slept till 9 or 10 if I was tired and didn't work) and I told him, he asked why I didn't wake him up, I didn't want to bug him and he said 'I WANT you to bug me if you're in pain' so he got the bottle open for me and took my pain meds, fell asleep right after. hell, even after I got a new place, he had empty nest syndrome, since he couldn't work, mom could so she had the distraction, I would call my stepdad nearly every day to check on him and my mom, if I didn't call, he would get worried and call me to make sure I was alright, when he had cancer, I tried not to cry, later learned what stage it was, I was crying, when he got worse, I cried, when he passed, I sobbed/ugly cried. he was truly the parent that stepped up, my point is that anyone would and should be happy that they have a parent, that even if they aren't related, cares about them! hell to love them as their own! that was what matters, what that dad did? made me want to smack him

That last one was brutal to get through but I agree with OP posting it on media, not the way they did it though. To be fair, it’s hard to think clearly in situations like that. I would’ve waited to see what the family does about the situation and confront them as much as I could first. If they try to sweep it under the rug, and the cops/cps throw their hands up, post it without identifying the victim. It’s hard to pretend something never happened when it has a fat spotlight on it. If he gets away with it after all this, he’s going to keep doing it and that little girl deserves better. Please continue fighting this OP, just because they’re family doesn’t mean they’re right. They know it’s wrong, but in these situations family WILL choose a side and sometimes they choose poorly.

I don't think the age of the little girl was mentioned, but I imagine she's at an age she doesn't understand what was actually being done to her. It's sick though that the family seems like they want to take the side of a child diddler. I hope that little girl gets somewhere safe and nothing further like this happens to her.

With the mistress story: What the friend meant was that the mistress was obviously lied to about one thing, and might have been lied to about other things. It might be that he told her he was already divorcing his wife before they got together. Cheaters most often just manipulate their AP by not being honest about their marital status.
However, if the ONLY lies she was told were about his finances/resources and she pursued him knowing she'd be a homewrecking gold-digger, she deserves all she got.
Story required more context regarding that bit. IF she was manipulated by this man into thinking he was in the process of getting divorced before she got with him, OP should have warned her about his lies before he can trap the young fool, that would be the morally correct thing to do. If she wasn't lied to about that, OP is entirely justified in not protecting her at all from her own greed and selfishness.
Edit: According to some comments, the 'friend' was herself a gold-digging homewrecker who got scammed into thinking her AP was rich when he wasn't, so the motivations were indeed driven by selfishness. It's somewhat understandable that the OP didn't follow her advice. Apparently the OP also cut off both the friend and is divorcing the cheater. OP never informed the mistress of the deception. I hope for everyone's sake that the mistress was as scummy as the ex-friend OP rightfully ditched and not simply a victim of manipulation.

Then, because she's drunk she had trouble explaining what she was really trying to say. Then starts posting pics of himself on social media without his wife and kids to show off how his body is improving.

Third story, I'm really confused as to how or why the guy married OP? OP mentioned they bonded over hobbies and such but that isn't enough to really get married over. I wanted to guess convenience but that doesn't really line up and obvious love was thrown into the garbage the instant he started yelling about her being seen by his son as a mother figure. But OP should still talk with *her* son and keep things open there, regardless of what her toxic husband says. Their son is old enough to start making choices and he chose to see OP as a mom. Also let's be real; if she did come back from the grave their son would have two moms, no dad. Only someone as horrible as him would see him immediately dropping his current partner for them as a good thing.

He has no bond with this woman, and yes that will be upsetting to some but that's how it is. He can hear happy stories about her and maybe grow fond of her that way, but if this goes on she'll be remembered as the reason he's not allowed to bond with anyone because he lives only for this woman he doesn't know and must worship at her shrine forever
    THe dad's ruining this kid
In a similar story an OPs wife died in childbirth....so his twin daughters have ZERO memory of their mom, and he went nuts when his daughters wanted his new wife included during mothers day at their school. He told his wife to tell them she doesn't wanna be their mom and for them to stop trying to be her kids. Like he was such a dirty coward. He wants to control his daughters and shun his wife...but tells her to look like the bad guy, so he could swoop in all 'Oh the mean lady doesn't love you like a mom but you have a real mom you dont know at all'
    Weak

    2) 10 years together and it sounds like he doesn’t care to make you a priority (*almost like he’s still hasn’t gotten passed his late wife*)
    3) OP bonds with stepson by being there for him and caring for him with any boundaries he set (*that’s so sweet!!*)

Story 3: im in a similar situation, EXCEPT when my two kids started calling me mom, he was happy. He even said not to worry about his family or his in-laws if and when they’d hear the kids call me mom. After some time the in-laws (biomom’s mother) refers to me as their mom. My kids even tell ppl they have two moms, their mom in the sky and me. I’d leave him if he ever said anything like what op’s husband said, but id secure some sort of custody/legal guardianship over the son first so dad can’t cut me out of his life. I’d also explain to the son why I’m leaving his dad so he doesn’t blame himself.
