Name the job you have now and a job that seems a million miles away, but that you’d love to have.
I AM A LICENSED TEACHER for 7 years but there's this little voice inside me that I could be happier If I pursue my dream job as a FLIGHT ATTENDANT. 😔 I'm 27 years old. Am I late enough to achieve my dream job? 😔
@@johnmanuelcaacbay2127 It is never too late :) My partner gave up being a dentist at 40, he is now a 3D animator. I have other examples also :) never too late!
I am a teacher, and would like to become an accountant.
Study abroad advisor
I’m a finance manager, and my dream job is becoming a professional organizer.
I've used the Assisted Living Industry for the last 7 years to better to learn more about dementia as an Activities Director. My initial focus was to better understand how to help my mom navigate symptoms at home. I've been her primary caregiver since 2008. After 3 months, I knew I was teaching more than I was learning. Now I'm on the job search again, and I really want to open up a Wellness Clinic in my parents home town where undeserved families can get counseling, seniors can congregate and folks can talk out issues to maintain better mental health.
What about those of us in our 50s who have virtually no useful contacts, and zero confidence? I am really good at my job, but it’s work I absolutely hate.
What is it that you'd love to do?
I think she made a point a lot of the jobs didn't even existed before, there are new career formed that doesn't already have the talent formed. Secondly, there is almost not possible to have zero transferable skills for anybody. Because if u able to show your passion in something that makes u shine and nothing stop you from learning around it.
Or maybe you can open a youtube channel tell people how good u are at your work and you want a career switch and why. Maybe something might show up. Are u up for the challenge?
Finding another 6-figure job at 65, that's the unicorn.
Do you need to earn £100k? Or could you live on less and be happy?
The confidence factor is huge for me, and now I finally have it late in life!what I like about these stories is it seems some some people maybe took a pay cut or something like that to be happy, yet still pay their bills.
As a lady I am coachable, love to learn and use tools all the time. Have mechanical and computer skills.
A dark chocolate tester sounds good for me too!
Maybe we should start a club!! ;-)
Suzanne, Great presentation! What you said is very worthwhile for those that want to "get ahead".
How about if you have never worked before and need to start a career for financial independence
I love the idea of using your skill set in a different career. Very valuable information.
I'm glad you found that part useful! It's amazing how many more opportunities you feel you have once you frame it in that way!
Dr Suzanne Doyle-Morris, inclusiq I agree.
Excellent Suzanne. Smart selection of subject as always!!! :-)
I liked the way you explained on writing on a piece of paper about those 4 things...will definitely try. Thanks for sharing Suzanne :-)
:-)
Thank you for your comments Kiran, I glad you enjoyed it!
Haha, yes, for sure...love that, "millenials are more likely to start a biz, but successful businesses are started by people in their early 40s" so, so true!!
I am on my husbands account but hello I'm Heather I'm 43 years old . My goal after having my 2 kids by 19 was to be a stay at home mom because I was sexually abused at 8 years old and no one cared for me at all so I wanted my kids to have better . The bar was set low . Now I'm 43 they are grown and hardly talk to me so I guess I kind of did ok . They are out living and that's all I wanted . So now I'm dealing with the what am I now ? Mess .
1 . My husband had a disabling motorcycle accident that destroyed most of his function in the left side of his body so I quit my job I came home to take care of him and I've been unemployed for over a year. My last job was as a dishwasher being paid 1250 an hour getting the highest raises possible . I will not go back to food . I know far to much about MSG I also know to much about how corn starch and corn products have made it's way it's our food chain on purpose to keep us unhealthy but still working because it's a cheap crop .
2. I do not know but I would want it to be something that I am respected as I do it and not just another number . I would love to work from home but I have no GED at at 43 I see no reason to get one . That is my issue I have no idea what I want to be next . I thought about doing the mock trial thing online but I don't think I could sleep at night if I helped release a accused child rapist or a killer off . I think out all this stuff .
I feel as if I can not answer 3 because I don't know 2 .
4 . I am a self starter , once I know the rules of the game I find my own ways to make things get done above and beyond , I'm organized , I care which can be a tool and a obstacle all at the same time . I over think again it is good and bad .
I like to take pictures over think the details until I hit the button then it's like a pitch at a game it's out of my hands . It's a rush to know I control what I allow to be seen in that little square from object to shadow. Yet what good is it if no one sees them because I don't have a outlet that will not just steal them ? I used to creat poems . But they also had been stolen so I don't do that anymore .
i really enjoy your "conversational" style.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
