Batman kills the Joker.
Is that a raincoat?
Yes it is!
Pure comedic genius.
The best part is that he ad-libbed the dancing thing. It wasn't in the script or the original book.
And in this scene laidies and gentlemen, we see Christian Bale slowly and casualy turn into Jim Carry.
"Is that a raincoat?" Yes it is!"
how he says "yes it is" just makes me laugh.
Okay Christian bales sounds like Jim Carrey in Bruce almighty in this movie..
No joke, I gave the Huey Lewis discography another shot after this movie.
So did I !! Lol
I was hanging out with my friend recently, I brought this movie up and he launches into a startlingly accurate version of this speech. I don't think he nailed every line exactly, but he had the whole thing and it was damned impressive.
this is what could've happened to Bruce Wayne if the trauma from the death of his parents took a... darker turn XD
pauls getting reservations at dorsia in heaven now.

Check'em
Bale based this character on the personality of Tom Cruise
In 87, Huey released this: Four - their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is 'Hip to Be Square' - a song so catchy most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends; it's also a personal statement about the band itself.
And then both went on to win Best Supporting Actor awards.
Hey, Paul! AAAAAAAHHHH!!!
i love how upbeat and chipper he is
Ive never seen a Rx bottle with such little info on it...lol
That awkward moment when you kill someone with an ax everytime you hear Huey Lewis...
I would've never thought that was Jared Leto. Everytime I saw 30 secs to Mars I kept thinking "man, the lead singer sure looks like the dude in American Psycho"
I guess Batman broke his one rule...
That scream though.... GIves me chills so fucking brutal and with no remorse.
He's doing his best Jim Carrey impression.
"Hey Paul!"
Classic man!! Shows, not only Christian Bale's amazing ability as an actor but also the terrifying duality and almost Jeckyl and Hyde nature of the main character. possiably the best movie scene ever! :P
Anyone who says he's a shitty actor needs to see this.
Outrageous!!!!
Everyone knows you use a match to light a cigar.
well now we know not to have thickful tasteness and a watermark on our business cards
That will teach him to have a nicer business card!
I watched this movie for the 1st time the other night....I will never be able to hear "Hip To Be Square" without thinking about this lol....this movie is so screwy, but funny.....in a really creepy weird way....
Ah Mr.Bale at his best. After "Newsies" and before "Batman"
Patrick BATeMAN
one of the best scenes ever
love the way he talks
I love this part its so classic lol HEY PAUL!
two oscar winning actors right there.
I love this scene! Is it me or does this remind you of jim carrey a little bit?
The Jim Carrey moment hahahaha
Fing awesome scene and Bale totally ruled it. Love this film.
Im lovin his hair.
I like the part where he checked out his doubles.

Is that a raincoat?
YES IT IS! :D Have a cookie!
Hey Paul! :D
Patrick Bateman's a nice guy isn't he?
It is truly hip to be square.
Wow... No dubs comments...
two years later.
25 people aren't hip to be square
I love this scene
When ever I hear this song I see this scene
roger from American dad lol
Song so catchy
Ed Gein would be proud.
the way he says "catchy" sounded like jim carry.
It'd be so gross if they added the starved rat led into the woman through a habitrail thing part of the book.
Best song to see someone axed to death. In my opinion anyway.
creepiest scene since that scene from resevoir dogs
Bale needs to do some more " hip " characters like this lol
this scene begins at 26:50 in the full film.
i love this scene
check em
i think he was....Bale could be a stunt double for Carrey...and vice versa almost
This scene probably didn't happen, because Patrick was just imaging it. Remember at the end (SPOILER), the lawyer told Bateman that Paul Allen was alive and he had dinner with him in London. We are witnessing the emotions that he felt.
This fucking scene is amazing, i laugh my ass off every time i see this. Bale is the man.
HEY PAUL!
What Chapter or Page is it on I just got the book and I can't find it...Is it even the book?
yes. in the book though, his name is " Paul Owen" not allen
dammm it if I was at Patrick bateman house and if he told me you like cannibal corpse then plays hammer smashed face I be like holy shit
paul was in dallas buyers club lol
Some Reason while he was talking he reminded me of Jim Carey
Great sceene!
1:08 check em
Music To Kill To - "Hip to Be Square"
HEY PAUL :)! LOL
Exactly what I thought too.
I need me one those raincoats....
i have to agree with you. :] i watched it for the first time the other day and it was amazing! this movie is a classic!
Nice dubs
i'm sure huey loves this...
jesus christ.
Yes it is~!
Still not sure if faking illness tho...

doubles
dude reminds me of "Stepfather". lmao
lmao I love this scene!
There's only one argument that I would like to make about this fantastic scene, if Patrick would have beaten Paul with the axe blood would have also splattered on the wall as well and virtually stained it leaving behind evidence that he 'committed' the murder.
A friend of mine danced around with an axe to this song while he was camping a few weeks ago.
@Zoomer30 i really think jim carry could have pulled this off if he was a little bit more serious than normal
HEY PAUL!!!
watched this because of the spoof of it in arby and the cheif. i havent even seen the movie and i recondized it.
Ok is it just me for from 1:08 to 1:28 does it seems like he is channeling Jim Carey? Just crazy. After that well he is just making a mess :)
haha, yah i remember that. i pretty much skipped that part when i read it.
Christian Bale in one of the best performances of his carrier (amongst the top five of his life); I don't think it was Mary Harron's direction or adapted screenplay of Ellis' supposed masterpiece that in essence brought the best out of Bale (as a borderline method actor) - but Ellis' book itself - and Patrick Bateman (apparently one of the most psychologically and emotionally complex characters commited to the literary medium). I'm an aspiring filmmaker and I think I can make a better adapation.
yes
Terry Benedict loves physics
its hip to square! well am goin to return some videos :)
Why did he kill him?
@abcdefh1992 For some reason, he reminded me of Jim Carry.... wtf.
