  • In this video I'll show you how to paint those terrible traitors who started it all, the Word Bearers! This is a fairly straight forward technique that would look great across a full army - You can even add in some runes and scripture for more added word bearing!

    As a Ultramarine player i cannot approve of the subject, but only of the paintjob. Nicely done.

    Great work man! Loved the idea of using Khorne Red highlight on top of the original Khorne Red basecoat for the lower level armour highlight.

    Cracking job. What a transformation after that VMC Chrome highlight (I love that paint)!

    Wine Red is definitely the preferred Word Bearers color. Contrast paints have changed the game though.

    Great stuff 🙂 I feel like this is a nice bridging tutorial from the techniques used in Warhammer TV's battle ready Word Bearers, bringing it up to parade ready

    Hi, quick question if I may. Providing you had a large enough pot of it, could you dip the mini in the nuln oil shader like you would if it were a tin of army painters quick shade? Just curious. Thanks.

    • @ThePaintingCoach
      @ThePaintingCoach  Před 3 lety

      You could I guess but i would recommend against it - i think most of the nuln oil would flow off and you'd end up wasting a fair bit 🤔

    Fantastic guide! Could you clarify what Chrome it is you used? When I looked on sites for it I see two possible versions. Is it the one called Metallic Chrome?

    I might have asked before, sorry if so, but are there any alternatives to highlight black? My Tau armor is already mechanicus standard gray.

    • @ThePaintingCoach
      @ThePaintingCoach  Před 3 lety +1

      No problem! Check out some of my other videos with black armour - I think Raven Guard might be one where I use Dark Reaper, Thunderhael Blue and Fenrisian Grey

      @@ThePaintingCoach Cool, I'll check that out. Can I ask what you'd use for a Tau that uses Mechanicus Standard for the Armor and Black for the Fatigues? For the black highlights that is.

    • @ThePaintingCoach
      @ThePaintingCoach  Před 3 lety +1

      On the fatigues? Probably that, or if you want a dirtier more fabric look you could try skavenblight dinge and stormvermin fur - i think I used those fod Abaddon's cloak

    I dont't understand - whats the point of using dryad bark on horns, if you paint it wraithbone anyway?
