- In this video I'll show you how to paint those terrible traitors who started it all, the Word Bearers! This is a fairly straight forward technique that would look great across a full army - You can even add in some runes and scripture for more added word bearing!

As a Ultramarine player i cannot approve of the subject, but only of the paintjob. Nicely done.
Haha thank you!
ultramar scum! in the name of Lorgar, bearer of the new word i chastise thee!!
Dude, i just checked, and you are a leader of my favourite tutorials.
That's awesome to know!
Great work man! Loved the idea of using Khorne Red highlight on top of the original Khorne Red basecoat for the lower level armour highlight.
Cheers Mikey - pleased that you liked it!
Cracking job. What a transformation after that VMC Chrome highlight (I love that paint)!
Thanks Adam - glad you liked it!
Wine Red is definitely the preferred Word Bearers color. Contrast paints have changed the game though.
Excellent work again
Cheers mate!
Awesome tutorial! Im gonna follow this method with my next model.
Thanks Justin - glad you like it
Great stuff 🙂 I feel like this is a nice bridging tutorial from the techniques used in Warhammer TV's battle ready Word Bearers, bringing it up to parade ready
Cheers - glad you found it useful!
@@ThePaintingCoach I'm just a sucker for the Word Bearers lol
Haha no worries
Another awesome tutorial as per dude :)
Cheers Colin - appreciate it!

Doing the thing
Hi, quick question if I may. Providing you had a large enough pot of it, could you dip the mini in the nuln oil shader like you would if it were a tin of army painters quick shade? Just curious. Thanks.
You could I guess but i would recommend against it - i think most of the nuln oil would flow off and you'd end up wasting a fair bit 🤔
Great tutorial as usual.any plans to do thousand sons ?
Cheers mate - yes when they're codex is dropped - or if there are some weeks with no nee releases - but I will get to them!
really good tutorial, would they be ok if I used mephiston red instead of khorne red for the armor panels? thanks
Yeah would just turn out lighter
Man Erebus is a doodoo marine #ripargeltall
Fantastic guide! Could you clarify what Chrome it is you used? When I looked on sites for it I see two possible versions. Is it the one called Metallic Chrome?
Thanks! No this is model air chrome - the other one is a bit too thin
@@ThePaintingCoach Thank you!
No problem :)
I might have asked before, sorry if so, but are there any alternatives to highlight black? My Tau armor is already mechanicus standard gray.
No problem! Check out some of my other videos with black armour - I think Raven Guard might be one where I use Dark Reaper, Thunderhael Blue and Fenrisian Grey
@@ThePaintingCoach Cool, I'll check that out. Can I ask what you'd use for a Tau that uses Mechanicus Standard for the Armor and Black for the Fatigues? For the black highlights that is.
On the fatigues? Probably that, or if you want a dirtier more fabric look you could try skavenblight dinge and stormvermin fur - i think I used those fod Abaddon's cloak
@@ThePaintingCoach I'll give both those ideas a look, thanks!
No problem!
I dont't understand - whats the point of using dryad bark on horns, if you paint it wraithbone anyway?
It just helps with the amount of layers of WB you need - it may take extra to cover the silver
@@ThePaintingCoach Oh. Got it.
No worries :)
