    How did you get it to run smooth after those 2 rough starts??

  • @tmautosstaustellcornwall5882

    I would recommend getting the tool that locks the flywheel against turning completely have to remove starter motor to lock it but then you can put a lot more torque on the crank bolt .

      This makes the job significantly more difficult and adds cost, is the dowel and cam locks + belt in place not sufficient?

    My crank has turned before the locking tool was in to lock it so it is out of time to the cams. Is it just a case of positioning the crank again with the pin then time the cams with the sprocket lockong tool?

    • @jfGarage4k
      @jfGarage4k  Před rokem +1

      Ya make sure the crank mark are lined up and lock it with a pin after
      For The cams make sure to turn it back wards and line up the marks. If those lined up put the cam locking tools after your set

    Thanks. The pin to hold the crankshaft in places goes in the same hole as the pin to find tap dead center? So fond tdc, insert the locking pin there and then secure tool up top to hold the cams in place? Then you can take off the pulley? Did you use that belt trick to remove the pulley too or just the pin?

    • @WizzRacing
      @WizzRacing Před 3 lety +1

      You need a special length crank pin..Then two plastic cheese block wedges...One on each side of the crank....
      Do not let that crank fall back down... You can feel the flat spot on the crank or use a mirror to look in that hole. Before you put the bolt in..It must be tight or it will fall down..

    • @jfGarage4k
      @jfGarage4k  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes that pin lock the crankshaft for tdc and its not gonna move. TOOL on the cams secure the cam sprocket to lock it after that your ready to remove the timing belt

    what crank pin how do you set it ?? how do you get to it ?? what a waste of a recording

    • @chrismyers9951
      @chrismyers9951 Před rokem

      It's a tool you get in a timing tool kit. You find just before TDC and then you remove a bolt and replace it with the crank pin usually the black pin in the kit. Then turn engine clockwise till it hits the pin. Also remove starter and put a flywheel locking device on it too. For a 1.6 ecoboost fiesta st 2015. Also use new crank bolt as it stretches. 74 ft lbs then 90 degrees then wait 5 seconds then 15 more degrees.
