Brilliant job! I hadn't thought about size limits, when this idea came to me :) Btw, Ilmango, i also think, that you can place two lines of repeaters at both sides first. After this machine does the job, it should punch out all spare repeaters, so you could easily collect them afterwards.

You could also make a machine that prevents you from placing a repeater every other block

I'm wondering now if he could make a complete piston bolt tunnel machine. You'd need players stocked with the requisite items to keep it going but imagine:
Tunnel bore
Tunnel smoother
Player pusher (rails)
Rail aligner
Player pusher (Pistons)
Piston aligner
2 Player pusher (Repeaters)
**I'd imagine using one player here would be very complex. Not that this machine isn't complex enough already.

Have a modified "floor" builder to place the normal pistons and blocks above them for the piston helper to put into place and then have a tunnel builder to make that shape of tunnel for you.

watching this in 2022 and I cant imagine how frustrating it would have been to work with observers that trigger when placed...why was that a thing mojang xD

1:53 "observers are more expensive than repeaters" Hmm in terms of redstone not so, maybe the quartz is the issue, or perhaps you're counting the note blocks too. Either way I say no. :P

Roescoe Observers are more expensive because quartz is non-renewable
Red stone is easy to get from witch farms but quartz is non renewable
Does this work in 1.16.4? My friends and I have an smp where we wanted to go far distances very quickly so I was interested in this design.

20 blocks per second. 28 if you're going on a diagonal, but obviously this machine cant build that
