I forgot to mention in the video: The powered rail version is exclusive to 1.15+ due to rail placement changes, however you can have a similar bolt with half the pistons if you go with curved rails curved in the same direction every 2 blocks instead of 1 like before. Unfortunately the 1.14- version can't be fixed without reassembling the entire bolt.

We have a pistonbolt in our world that has been out of business for almost 11 months because of 2 broken rails.
The ability to repair it without torture or mods makes this amazing.

actually theres a mistake that you made at 4:20 about cart hitboxes intersecting with detector rail hitboxes. The fact is that if a cart is within more than 1/8th of a block the rail will detect it. If you push a cart into a chest and replace it with a rail, the detector rail wont detect it. but anyways nice video :)
Yes you are correct, and there is an area over the detector that doesnt work as well. It has the same hitbox as a pressure plate from the sides (which comes from it being a literal pressure plate only triggered by carts). The reason is has a higher upwards hit-box compared to pressure plates is so it can detect carts on sloped detectors. Thank you for catching that! Glad you enjoyed.

I’m so bored ima test all of them in bedrock I’ll update with what I find
Update 1: observers don’t detect note blocks so replace with piston facing opposite from the bolt. Looking promising
Update 2: first example in video works just fine ( 2:14 )
Update 3: because of the weird way rails work this can’t be built going east to west but does north and south because the rails prioritize east to west placement, only after another trigger it will move 1 piston farther so no built east or west
Update 4: the one block dilation I cannot find a way for the cart to not get stuck on the double rail so not possible right now other than that it would work just need to stand up to move the cart manually
Update 5: the straight->diagonal-> straight track the open piece of redstone in the inner track updates the rails and makes them a straight line no work around right now
Update 6: the Dimi bolt updates the rails and makes them all straight no idea how to fix if possible
Update 7: the downward one the fence updates the rails to just straight down rails and fence doesn’t push cart
Update 8: I’m not gonna make that it wouldn’t move east or west or and side motion so I don’t know what it could be used for
Update 9: in bedrock you don’t need the power rail you can just remove it
on bedrock the curved rails can be spaced every two blocks without any other rail in between. see the tutorial from Prudii Gaming
actually now we have reliable 30 m/s piston bolts with the rails every 3 blocks. it has to be sticky pistons with blocks in front of them
Piston bolts in mc bedrock can get stupidly fast. Recently, ive seen some designs for a 60 and 80 bps piston bolt translocator. The 80 bps one is so fast that you literally can't use it on simulation distance 4.

Hey man! Im trying to build the diagonal bolt but with the diagonal part extended x-blocks. After travelling 12 blocks diagonal the minecart stops and the bolt continues. Any idea why it doesn't continueon its path? I have all the repetears set correctly and I've build it correctly.

Edit: noteblocks arent detected by observers in bedrock.. changed to a barrell or another observer with something like a trapdoor on top or a comparator. Or a cake 😂😂
In bedrock the piston bolts can go faster and have more space in between rails (meaning it is also easy to fix), id recommend looking up some bedrock bolt designs :P

What if I use this to push villagers as a overworld void trading thing. It's much faster to push them into unloaded chunks than other methods
I'm not convinced of the efficacy... but you can definitely use this for that function.
Looks to be a bit chunkier than a normal bolt, but this is a major reduction in resources needed. I might actually building this on an SMP I'm joining!

Possible for the challenges? Technically yes, but i think the size and build effort would make it not worth it in the slightest. (For the curved rail challenge at least)
