    A piston-bolt network that allows direct routing from any station to any other station. This means that you don't need to return to a hub in order to go to a new destination. It is limited to 16 stations for direct routing, though it can be manipulated to allow for more stations though only being to access 15 stations at a time.
    Has stacked compatible varients
    This is also a tutorial world, containing everything you may need to make your own network.

    thanks for the inspiration! trying this on bedrock edition. the encoding is quite easy to implement and you can go 3 blocks per tick in bedrock. intersections are quite hairy. still not sure how to get this to work properly but i like the challange! as comparator signals can travel 3 blocks also, a single comparator lign can be used, making it quite cheap. and pistons can be put on same side :p

    You could expand the capabilities of this machine to have 256 locations by adding a system that puts named item into a chest minecart, and sends the minecart ahead of you. You would arrive at a substation where the item would be picked up and translated into one of the sixteen locations, then sent to your location. It would require a rework of stations, but definitely seems doable for servers that want a automated system for sending to more locations. This would be preferred to other solutions of adding more data lines as it doesn't require any expansion of lines. Only of stations

    I vaguely remember I think ilmango making a video years ago on a bug which allowed comparators to have significantly higher signal strengths. If there's still somehow a way to do this in newer versions it could make this encoder have virtually infinite destinations! If you could find a way to run a second comparator line along the current one you could get 16 * 16 = 256 stations, though, which should be plenty, but I can imagine that'd be way harder to figure out and build.

    I have got an idea, how to make 256 stations, why not to put stations in station? U have 2 books, first one chooses zone, second station in that zone. So u have 2 lines of data, first line chooses where goes player and, also, where goes second line of data (why not to fill up gaps in a second data line using pistons and blocks. Then, as soon as first data line reaches it is end, second line just working as usual 16-station system. why not to make in this design? (btw, u cant put second data line in a repeater line (left from pistons) as this line has a one tick desync (i forgot a word in english, sorry)). So, in theory, u can scale this design as much as u want, like 3 data lines, 4, 5, etc (the only question why, cause even with 3 lines u get over 16000 possible stations)

    So, 16 possible stations? I wonder if you could make more by having one of these point to point stations act as a “hub” or meta station that connects to other hub stations in smaller networks.
    Basically, like a tree structure, where the leaves/nodes are the 16 station point to point networks, and they themselves are connected in a larger point to point network.
    So basically, you start by going to the network your destination is in, then move to subnetworks.
    Probably only two layers will be needed for 99% of cases, if you even need more than 16, and don’t just make completely separate networks.
    16*16=256, I highly doubt you will need more than that.

    Looking at the intro it seems that the junctions can route players at an impressive rate. What is the minimum time between two players travelling on a piston bolt and through a junction? Does the system do something to avoid or reduce the probability of collisions between players arriving at a junction from two different directions at the same time?

    • @Kahyxen
      @Kahyxen  Před 2 lety +2

      A cart can be sent every 10gt (5rt or 0.5s).
      It does not do any collision avoidence as those require much more complecated components that I did not want to include in this simple system. I'm working on a much more complex network that will include it though, but design is only really feasible for a large technical server

    • @Kahyxen
      @Kahyxen  Před 2 lety

      It really depends on how you design an encode the system.
      Using the 1st method 1 showed
      Most branches will not need to be changed, but major intersection might need to
      Using the 2nd method, where you are manipulating the encoding
      You can make it such that 1-7 goes foraward in the line, and 8-15 goes backwards. Adding stations would just shift where the destination leads to, so you wouldn't need to touch the intersection, though you might need to change the text in the book.
      Regardless, changing the encoding shouldn't be too difficult as you just have to flip the pages of the lectern.
