    Amazing stuff Niklas! Loved every minute of this, as a massive Noel Gallagher fan it really was a great watch. I'm glad that you got a hold of this and are actually using it instead of someone buying it to sit in a collection. The tones you went through here were spot on. Brilliant stuff fella I'm made up for you, keep up the great work 👏👏👏👏👏

      Thanks a lot! If I'd run the Blues Junior by itself I think I'd never set the treble that high, sounds too harsh, but when complemented with the Hiwatt which can sound a bit dark by itself especially on the normal channel, the two amps together really sound phantastic 🙂

    “I’m obsessed and always chasing that sound” haha exactly the same here mate. Hence me finding this video and your channel 😁🤘🏻 I love Oasis and HFB. Basically Noel haha. So somewhat got there with early Oasis with my Gibson LP and my NG Riviera and a Marshall (though still chasing a better Marshall) and just ordered a Vox Ac15. But not getting there with the HFBs sound. Maybe I need the Blues Jnr 👍🏼

    • @niklasguitar
      @niklasguitar  Před měsícem +1

      Thanks a lot for commenting! Always eager to engage with like minded Noel gear heads! 🙂 I personally think the blues junior is a phenomenal and versatile amp - but it can get a bit fizzy, especially when hit with a boosted signal from eg an Echodrive of Tube Boost.. so I think thats why Noel used the Hiwatt with the Blues Jnr - you get the direct mid heavy sound from one amp while still preserving single notes in the mix with the other amp - maybe try your AC15 together with your Marshall, and dial one back to be a bit more on the clean side...

      @@niklasguitar thanks mate for the advice. Know I will never get there exactly as goes off other things than just the gear like settings, the fact he plays on a stage etc and the fact he is Noel freaking Gallagher and a guitar playing genius (though he describes himself as a song write singer and not a guitarist).
      Thanks for your videos and info. Not a lot out there specifically talking about gear and settings for Noel.
      You nailed the HFBs sound to me on this video at the start. And you must be over the moon to own his pedal board. Wow. Checked that a website out. Now I can’t afford his 8 grand Blues Jnr haha but I’m going to buy one of his used guitar picks 😁👌🏻

      @@markaxlbyrne4353 Thanks a lot mate! You're right, there are not many videos out there talking about his gear - so that's why I decided to make such videos 🙂
      Replicating sounds is very difficult, there are so many different parameters - with Noel's and every other good live guitar sounds (Gilmour, Clapton, Knopfler, to name a few) its never just guitar - pedals - amp what you're hearing - amp mics, venue, reverb, front of house gear are always in the equation... and yeah only Noel can sound like Noel 🙂

      @@niklasguitar sorry me again haha. So that opening track of you playing the intro to Everybody’s on the Run 👌🏻 what pedals are you using? Are you using delay and that space echo? I don’t have an echo pedal but hear Noel uses one. That sound is great on this opening track you’re playing. Like a melodic hypnotic ringing out. Is that the echo pedal? If so I need to buy one.
      Oh and btw not sure if you’ve tried to master the sound yet of Its a Beautiful World. Be good to see a video on that I have no clue how he gets the sound in that song. Thanks

    Always wondered if Noel put his delays in fx loop of amp or is everything running in front? Did Mike Hill services mention this?

    • @niklasguitar
      @niklasguitar  Před 2 měsíci +1

      All delays are mono, in front of the Amps, at least for all High Flying Birds live gigs. Its just not possible to split the signal wet/dry with this board. I think it was the same with the last Oasis tour, the tours before that where Noel used a big rack unit in addition to his board there might have been a wet/dry setup going on, but that's just a best guess,..

    • @niklasguitar
      @niklasguitar  Před měsícem +1

      Wenn ich den Blues Jr. alleine zu Hause spiele, würd ich den Reverb auf 2-3 stellen, meiner steht aber schon immer auf 0 weil ich Reverb von den OX Boxen bekomme. Ich denke, dass Noel selbst auch keinen Reverb am Blues Jr. Live aufgedreht hat, in großen Arenen bzw. Stadien kommt der Reverb meist vom Front of House...

    • @niklasguitar
      @niklasguitar  Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@goohnutz I think of the Blues Jr. as a first gain stage, and a complement to the Hiwatt - the Hiwatt itself, set to Noel's settings, sounds pretty clean so its great for making individual notes to be heard in the mix - there are songs where Noel only used the Hiwatt without the Blues Junior - if you watch "International Magic live at the O2" and skip to "Broken Arrow" - there's a good shot of Noel's board (the one that I own now) where only one Amp is engaged - you can see the status LED of the loop quite clearly.
      In regards to the final Oasis tour, where Noel had 3 Hiwatt vertical combos as well as the Blues Junior - I guess the main sound was always the Hiwatt and Blues Junior, another Hiwatt would've been fed the signa from the ZVEX Lo-Fi Loop Junky Pedals (you can hear them at the end of RnR Start where this Lo-Fi Voice says "that's rock n roll baby"), and another Hiwatt as a Spare.. but thats just a best guess from my side 🙂

    • @niklasguitar
      @niklasguitar  Před měsícem

      If you're on a budget, any tube screamer style pedal will do - won't sound exactly the same but what you want is something that pushes the amp into overdrive while also being very preservative of the amps characteristics. Maybe also look into the SIB Varidrive/Fatdrive - they're not the same as the echodrive but will also give you a very warm tube drive/boost. They're not as hard to get as an echodrive and way cheaper on the used market 🎸
