    Niklas, I can't thank you enough for the shout out! As a big supporter of your channel and your content this really really means a lot to me! So honestly thank you! 🙏 I love these in depth gear and how to get the sound videos you are doing as well, you really do your homework and I know it will help a lot of people out there trying to achieve some of these sounds. As always, keep up the great work! 👏🤝🎸

      @@niklasguitar Thanks again Niklas! I really do appreciate that, it means the world to me. Also Like yourself I'll need to go back and correct my rock n roll star version 😂 I only figured out it was in drop b when I was trying to get Lyla. Every day is a school day haha 👍🎸

    Found another. Stop the Clocks. Played along to the track with the Alt tuning and wasn’t quite sure but sounded right to me. Then just played along with the Stop The Clocks Demo on CZcams and defo is.
    I think maybe the live version of To Be Where There’s Life is too. On the fence a little with this one as an actual tutorial and guitar I have found are either non existent or questionable. So think I’m playing it right the way I have interpreted that song. And the way I play it sounds right in the Alt turning too.
    I love finding these songs. You and Paul opened up some doors here. This tuning with the songs Noel has played them in sound great. Have a diff mood and tone to them in this tuning 👌🏻

    Great video. Pretty Boy, Don’t Stop, It’s A Beautiful World, Be Careful What You Wish For, & A Simple Game Of Genius are also in this alternative tuning as far as I know

      Wow YES 😁👌🏻 I knew about Pretty Boy. Great spot on with Don’t Stop and It’s A Beautiful World. I love Beautiful World. And did learn Don’t Stop a while back. Wondered why I stop playing it. Obviously didn’t sound quite right so moved on. Just had a play along there. Game changer.

    It's a smart observation about Noel not having time to retune between turn up the sun and Lyla. Nice work figuring this out!

Also found Paul’s channel a few weeks back. He also has been very helpful with advice and help with my questions to try achieve Noel’s sound. Nice to fund like minded fans helping each other out 🤘🏻

      @@niklasguitar amazing mate couldn’t agree more. Just pleased there are people like you and Paul making this stuff helping out less able people like me haha. I’ll get there. Getting pretty good at the tunes but I’m not the best with the gear and finding out how to shape the sounds yet. Will get there with people like you and Paul so thanks 😊👍🏼 this video and the alt tuning is a game changer. I too played some of these songs and didn’t seem to quite sound right and didn’t know why. Brilliant 👌🏻

    Hey, thank you for going to this much detail about this. I've always loved the Rock and Roll Star solo from that set and now I know why. This would also explain that Lyla was played in this tuning for the 2005 Manchester gig as it was directly after Turn Up the Sun which features this tuning as well!

    • @niklasguitar

      Thanks a lot! Really appreciate your comment, and that particular version of the RnR Star solo is my favourite as well!

    You will like this one… I have found another one 😁👍🏼
    I just learnt the Right Stuff and it just wasn’t sounding quite right. So tuned the B string down to an A and there you go. This is the same for the recorded version and live version of this song 👌🏻 give it a go.
    I also then soon realised when doing these alternative tuning you don’t actually play the B string in the song and leave open the whole time. So play the usual chords minus the finger on the B string. Maybe you mentioned this in the video but been a couple days since I watched. Thanks again for the video. Next time a song a little bit off I am trying this alternative tuning haha

    • @niklasguitar
      @niklasguitar  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Thanks for commenting! I think its time for a part 2 video! In the making of Council Skies Part 1 video, you can actually see Noel tuning down his b string for one song... I think it was Pretty Boy 🙂

    Not so sure for the 2008 tour, but i can tell you that the same tuning is used for a Simple game of genius, it’a a beautiful world and pretty boy. Pretty boy is usually followed by council skies which is played with the capo on second fret like pretty boy but with normal tuning. You can se Noel changing guitar but gem using the same guitar and tuning it before the start of the second song. Who feels love is played also on open G tuning

    I noticed in his videos he's just released showing the making of Council Skies there is a part where he's strumming an acoustic guitar and he clearly de-tunes the B string after a few strums and starts playing again. Think it's the first part out of the 3 videos. Don't know if it's been mentioned or not yet, I didn't read all the comments.

    • @jamespattison4681
      @jamespattison4681 Před měsícem

      Just checked it out. If you go to 14:25 in part one of the making of Council Skies you'll see him de-tune that string. Also has capo 2nd fret.

  • @TopGun6986
    @TopGun6986 Před 2 měsíci +1

    Nice one! Always bugged me there was something wrong while playing those tunes.... DYou reckon Bring It On Down which was played in the 2005 tour used this tuning as well?
    Also, will you post the chord for those versions? They're all alternative chords have no idea where to start

    • @niklasguitar
      @niklasguitar  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Thank you! I'd have to look into Bring it on down,.. Noel played it with the capo on 2 during the few live performances in the 00s, so that would technically fit the alternative tuning as well...
      So I'll record my first guitar lesson this week, I hope I can get it up on my channel soon, it'll be Lyla... going to be a longer video, as I'll also try to explain how the get the correct sound, stay tuned 🙂

    • @markaxlbyrne4353
      @markaxlbyrne4353 Před měsícem +1

      I found out how to play these tunes in the alternative tuning. Just play the normal chord except never place your finger down on the de-tuned B string where a chord would normally have this. So basically always avoid putting your finger down on that detuned string. You can play and strum it just don’t press down in a chord shape. If I have managed to explain that correctly.
