  • Today's reaction video, ImFrancis react to Bee Gees Too Much Heaven. The video ImFrancis watch is Bee Gees live performance in the studio for Too Much Heaven. This is the first time hearing Bee Gees Too Much Heaven. The Bee Gees were a music group formed in 1958, featuring brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. The trio were especially successful as a popular music act in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and later as prominent performers of the disco music era in the mid- to late 1970s. I have done many Bee Gees reaction videos, so check those videos out. If you have other Bee Gees song you want me to check out let me know in the comments.

I'm always asked, "Did the Bee Gees sound like this in concert?" ABSOLUTELY! You will NEVER again hear harmonies, so perfectly in sync like the Gibb brothers. Prepare to be amazed by their songs (it's a huge list). Barry Gibb (center) is the King of Falsetto - hands down. Want soulful? "Fanny Be Tender" - Want funky? "Jive Talkin" Disco? "You Should Be Dancing" Love Song? "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" - Keep Listening! I'm so happy these musical treasures give you the same JOY I felt hearing them the first time in the 1970's!

Watch "One Night Only" (11-14-97) MGM Grand, Las Vegas, NV concert - I was in that massive crowd, experiencing the absolute privilege of hearing Barry, Robin & Maurice Gibb for an unforgettable evening of music. I wish you could have heard them, too - sheer perfection. I've never heard one complaint from any individual who attended a Bee Gees concert...

What's absolutely amazing is that Barry Gibb never sang in a falsetto voice until 1975's Nights On Broadway. Their entire career through the 60's he sang in a different register. They were more of a pop band and did some incredibly good songs like Words, To Love Somebody, etc (you should check those out as well, they're beautiful). But after they went through a brief split it was Eric Clapton who suggested they head to Miami's Criteria Studios and tap into the R&B music that was going on in America at that time. He said he always felt they were more of an R&B band but hadn't realized it themselves. It was there & with the song Nights on Broadway that Barry, along with everyone else, discovered he had that angelic falsetto voice that opened up a brand new musical landscape for them & the rest of the world. Thank you Eric Clapton for seeing something in them they hadn't realized themselves & for making the suggestion!!! FYI: They wrote every word they ever sung, wrote every note of music, did the musical arrangements, as well as working on the production.

The Bee Gees are my all-time favorite group. Just look in Barry’s eyes when he’s singing it’s like he has this beautiful presence about him like he is in heaven singing the song. And look at the other two brothers they’re just so mellow and So amazing. Nobody will ever compare to the beautiful harmonies of these three guys. They are like three angels and they write their own songs as well. Barry is the only remaining one alive.
But I have to say I’ve watched a lot of reaction videos to the song and you are one of my favorites because you genuinely enjoyed it I enjoyed watching you enjoy it. God bless you

And to this day Sir Barry Gibb, the lead singer in this song has only wanted their music to last. He can't believe the resurgence of their 4 decades of music as stated in radio interviews in the past few months. The Bee Gees, all brothers are British, immigrated to Australia as children and Barry currently in Miami. In the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and Song Writers Hall of Fame. Have really enjoyed your reactions! Keep up the good work!!

  • @OMyStarz
    @OMyStarz Před 4 dny +3

Barry's vocal range was A1-A5, 4 octaves. His falsetto was unique because he could sing falsetto and sing vibrato at the same time.
I think your reaction to this song was one of the best I've seen, I love seeing young people enjoying music from when I was young. Thanks ❤

  • @lena-mariag.louis-charles3579

These three Musical Geniuses gave us Pure Magic for close to 50 years - 100% G-d given, raw talent, none of that "Auto Tune" nonsense...
(And, absolutely fabulous during a live concert!)
    💖💖💖
After recording this track, the brothers donated "TOO MUCH HEAVEN" to UNICEF, to help children in need around the world. The royalties brought in 7+ million dollars (at the time...) for the charity.
Their ability to musically adapt to each new decade that they entered together, and their extraordinary talent (self taught - never knew what a musical note or scale was...) as songwriters, musicians (playing several instruments...) and their marvelous instrumental arrangements (brother Maurice was a Natural at doing arrangements...) made them into Living Legends during their own lifetime.
Their tight harmonies (which they started practicing as very young children...) are truly unique, being blood brothers - and something that won't be repeated or matched for a long, long time to come...
All three brothers had the ability to sing in falsetto - however, Sir Barry Gibb was/is the one that could do it beyond human comprehension...
The rabbit hole that's Bee Gees is DEEP, my Friend!
"STAYING ALIVE", "FANNY BE TENDER" (WITH MY LOVE), "JIVE TALKING", "NIGHTS ON BROADWAY", "ALONE", "ONE", "FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS", "LOVE YOU INSIDE OUT", "BLUE ISLAND" (all royalties donated to children in a wartorn Bosnia...) and "YOU SHOULD BE DANCING" are but a few of their Masterpieces...

The Bee Gees wrote & released Too Much Heaven in 1978. It was climbing charts world wide (already #1 in US & Canada, #3 in UK) before the Jan 1979 fundraiser, “Music for UNICEF.” They then donated, in perpetuity, ALL their royalties, not just from the UNICEF event, merch & compilation album (as the other bands did, though some just for a limited time), but also their publishing rights. So, UNICEF continues to get paid, from anyone’s version & any use (including in movies, TV, commercials, etc). As the 1st band to make such a donation to charity, they were recognized for it by UN Secretary General, Kurt Waldheim & invited to the White House by President Carter. The last official tally I saw was 2011, saying UNICEF had received more than 10 million British pounds from it, for emergency food & healthcare. I’ve seen others post it hit 20 million as of 2019, but I haven’t found an official source for that.

He sometimes gets pushed aside but that’s a blind. They weren’t full without him. He had a beautiful voice; just not usually solo. He was the harmonizer which came very naturally. Talent! Love them all together! Watch a full concert.

There is one song by them which you must react to though. Immortality, actually written mostly by Barry I think - and he had Celine Dion in mind for it. There are a few videos available to watch, most are actually good. But the best one I saw that comes to my mind, is the one, almost like a rehearsal of it, where Barry couldn't keep the tears away from coming when he first watched her come to sing it along with them . . . Or maybe she was just trying her own part of it out to see what she thought? Hard to remember it now . . .

Yeah, I grew up with them at their peak in the 70s. They are one of the greatest bands ever. I used to have that song in my "drop them panties girl" tape and many sore backs. For real those white boys had soul! I know you heard it 1 year ago but they also have a song called "If I can't have you" the best version is the one that Yvone Elliman sings. Play it, you will like it.

It's so sweet to see a young man so romantic, and if any girl would make fun of you for that then she doesn't deserve you, that song is about them singing to their women and telling them that when they leave this earth they will be together in heaven too, it's a beautiful ballad and I was a teenager when it came out and I've loved it ever since, and no matter how many times I hear it still gives me goosebumps, not too many songs do that, especially with today's music, You need to go back in time and I guarantee you will love the old songs.

Barry Gibb has buried 3 other brothers. The 2 on each side of him are his twin brothers Robin and Maurice, sadly passed on. His youngest brother Andy Gibb also had a great voice and he died during the late 80'. The Bee Gees donated all of the earnings of this particular song to The UNICEF Childrens fund and raised over 11.5 Million Dollars. Great Australian, Great Singers and Great Human Beings.

The Bee Gees made beautiful songs. They broke up for awhile & recorded music they had written when a group. Robin's song "I started a joke" is a good one to listen for. They did get back together as a group after their younger brother died from drugs. A few years later Robin passed away & then Maurice (they were twins in case you didn't know) and now only Barry is left.

You're never too old to grow up again. Their music catalogue is huge, so much to hear and see. Barry (the lead singer in this) is still going on in his 70's now, with more than 60 years of experience in the pocket. Don't hesitate, give it some time and enjoy. And I admit, some songs you'll like, some you'll like a bit less. But nevertheless: give it a try.
