This is in studio. No auto tune. Live orchestra. All proceeds from this song went to charity and still does.
EXACTLY!!!
Absolutely.. much respect
The Bee Gees are fascinating because they are unarmed. There are no defenses against the heart joy and pain. They show it all. That's why I love them. They are the pure, real thing.
I saw them in 1978. It was one of the most amazing concerts that I have ever been to. I went with my then boyfriend who is now my husband of almost 35 years and he love them too. Barry sang a song called “words”, you’ll have to listen to it. But when he let out the first two notes of the song the women screamed so loud throughout the whole song that you couldn’t even hear the rest of the song, it was amazing.
And yes they were just as fabulous in concert!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😍😀😍
Kathy I saw them in September 1979 in Ohio. What a fantastic concert!y favorite group since 1967.
the eldest Barry is the only brother alive now. What an incredibly talented family. Incredible stuff.
I had the great fortune of seeing Barry Gibb at an event (1989) and Bee Gees in Las Vegas, NV (1997). They were stellar to hear LIVE! One of the best concerts of my life - I wanted them to continue singing another hour (or two!) The harmonies from three brothers was pure magic from microphones. Bee Gees music will not only make you feel emotions, you'll also be dancing, moving, grooving...Next song to hear? "Fanny Be Tender" Official video ..there's a soulful song with some classic falsetto!
Yes, Fanny Be Tender is my favorite Bee Gees tune.
We just got taken to heaven , they sing like angels ♥️ the music arrangement and harmonies are perfection 👍🏻 love the Bee Gees. ♥️
It looks like a studio, but they sound the same in Concert as they do on a recording ! Their voices are musical instruments! Totally God given Gifts for them and all of us!
100% natural 100% pure talent no one does it better than the Bee Gees.
This song puts you into all your feelings.nothing like it.
I have followed them all my life. Great reaction. Love So Right, Fanny, Words, You Should Be Dancing, Staying Alive, and many many more. You can’t go wrong!
Fanny be tender with my love, Staying Alive, Love you inside and out, Nights on Broadway...there are just so many great songs!
Yes, that’s Barry singing lead on this one. They all have perfect pitch which is how they are able to sing, harmonise, and play instruments naturally without lessons. Super musically gifted songwriters and performers. Wikipedia says for this song, they recorded 9 layers of 3 part harmony, creating 9x3=27 voices. The most amazing part of the process was that Barry sang all of his parts only once each, one right after the other, without listening to his previous vocals in headphones, and they all blended perfectly. Then Robin and Maurice came in and the 3 of them did what you see in the video 3 times in one mike having the effect of one voice. In the final mix, Barry’s falsetto is dominant. Musical genius! They donated the proceeds from this #1 song to a children’s charity in perpetuity. They started singing as kids. To see their first tv appearance, just search for BEE GEES 1960.
Great info! Thanks!
It was televised when they chose the song and signed it over to Unicef and they sang this perfectly. What I also find amazing is that none of them ever learned to read music. They just explained what was in their mind until they got what they wanted. They wrote this and Tragedy in the same afternoon and got the idea for Shadow Dancing that evening. Three number ones in a day.
This was recorded live. For Unicef, it became number one hit and from that first recording to date, every cent made has gone to Unicef..it was done in one take.
Many of our children were conceived off of this masterpiece 😊
Lights low, candles lit, a nice joint and nothing
But Good Vibes ❤
I seen them in Cincinnati in 79 one of the best shows I ever saw!
you are lucky to have seen them - i'm an old guy with a couple hundred concerts under my belt but never saw them come around near where i live.
Show was September 16 1979 at Cincinnati Coliseum. I’m from Dayton Ohio and loved all music rock funk disco and took a girl I was dating. Also at The Who stampede in December of 79!
@@toughpull you even remember the date ? ! good memory
Wow you are so lucky, I have seen some clips of some live shows from the 70s and it looked amazing and insane, the audience going wild.
I saw them in DC in '79. I was up in the nose bleed section right above them. It was great!
I saw them in Vegas……. Their Voices and music is clean with warmth and sincere emotions. They sing basically HAPPY….
They were just as awesome live as they were in the studio. No auto tune, no gimmicks, just their voices and the music. ☮️❤️👵🏼
Righteous brothers 10/10
I LOVE THE BEEGEES- given your reaction... now you see why we (kinda old ppl 😂) say they don’t make music like they used to?? Don’t get me wrong- I also grew up in the Pac, Uncle Luke, Snoop era- but there’s nothing like those love songs that Don’t Need unnecessary language towards women. As a child I was surrounded by beegees on vinyl, prince, Mj etc... get into some Phil Collins- you won’t be disappointed
Beegees. Are. Great. Singers. But barry Gibb. Is. The. Last. Beegees. Alive. Today. Still. Making. Music
It’s a warm embracing Vibe that takes you in! The Bee Gees were the Master’s of the Disco era. Their musical contribution will LIVE forever!
I'm 80 years old and an old door wopper. I still get chills when kik hear these 3 broth er s harmonize
They started singing in perfect three part harmony when Barry was nine and the twins were six, you can see their first tv appearance on youtube it's a song called "Time is Passing By" and was written by Barry when he was 14
Interesting a 14 year old writes a song called Time is passing by, I have to look it up.
First of all Too Much Heaven was a #1 hit!! Plus all of the proceeds from this song was donated to UNICEF for the kids, I believe it made around $11 million dollars, they also did a live version on the day it was given to UNICEF. Bee Gees music for UNICEF 1979, please check it out!! Do a reaction for it!! Check out "To Love Somebody" , "How can You Mend a Broken heart" you can't get any better than the BEE GEES!!!
Started band in 1958. they are the Gibbs brothers. I am 71 Now and I lived threw the good old days. Barry Gibb is the main singer.
These brothers are a godsend and they are definitely before their time I had the pleasure of not only meeting the brothers but also had a chance to be a part of the family and still I am a part of the family listen to the song sacred Trust it is a song on the last album they did as brothers and I was blessed to help with that track I will miss the twins deeply thank you for recognizing the brothers greatness as I do
BassMan RP.
This is Barry’s favorite out of over a thousand songs that they wrote! He’s still writing songs today and he will be 77 on September 1, 2023!
Their voices are like angels. ❤
When you see them on a talk show and they're asked to sing *on the spot,* no equipment, nothing, they sounded just as good. They did it on the Morning Show, on Geraldo, etc. They have so much *natural* talent its amazing.
Wonder how many babies were made to this song. 🤣
I grew up listening to them and their younger brother. ♥️
They have performed it many many times in front of live audiences, but this is their official video and they wanted a clean take without the coughing and sneezing of the audience. They are doing it live in one take though. Pure talent, no effects, all natural. One mike. Total harmony.
Let me just set the record straight the guy in the middle is Barry the one with the long hair to the left is Robin and the one with the dog head to the right is Maurice they also had another brother who was younger his name was Andy he was also part of the group they were four Bee gees and they're all Brothers from the same mother Andy went on his own in the Three Brothers stay together and made all this beautiful music all three of his younger brothers passed away and Barry is the oldest he's the only one that's alive their music will live forever their voices are the most unique voices you will ever hear they sound in person exactly like they did in the video at that time in the seventies there was no order tune and makeover on music what you hear is what you get and what we got was the most beautiful music with the most beautiful voices ever Andy Robin Maurice rest in peace Barry we always love you and keep it going for your brothers.
Back in the 70'S the night clubs were plenty and beautiful. You would dress to the MAX and dance with the ladies pull them close and sway...HEAVEN
I think the word you're looking for is mellow. And yes that's Barry doing the solos. He's the only one still living out of 4 brothers. Their youngest brother Andy Gibb had a solo career.
The Orchestration is so good you kinda don't notice it . . 'They play just 'underneath' . Makes it .
Michael Jackson CRIED when he first heard them sing!!!!!!! Michael and Barry were good friends too.
This song has so much feeling it makes me tear up!
Still give me the chills listening to this amazing group of brothers
Of all the Bee Gees songs I think I have seen no kidding at least 30 different people react to this one song. You also need to do Fanny be tender with my love holy smokes the harmonies in that song just give me the goose pimples.
It’s a masterpiece.
They are actually better live if that’s even possible. Greatest of all time in my opinion.
Bro, your " stank face" says it all! These guys were the best at what they did in their time. All of their songs are amazing.
CHILLS !!! EVERYTIME I HEAR THIS SONG!!!! CHILLS, CHILLS , CHILLS!!!!
It's LIVE. NO AUTO TUNE. REAL TALENT.
I grew up listening to the Bee Gees, & you have no idea how happy it makes me, to see the younger generation discover the music we fell in love with !!! Barry Gibb, in my opinion, has the best falsetto voice ever, & what makes it so incredible, is that in his falsetto, he also used his vibrato, which is very rare! Thank you so much for this, they were brothers, & Barry is the last one, but please review more of their music, you will not be disappointed, & they span over years, & crossed many genres 😍 I also believe, that if there is music in Heaven, it would sound like the Bee Gee's ❤️❤️❤️ Curious, do you need a cigarette after listening to this song!!! LOL They have a huge catalogue!!!
Come on Barry ! Sing your f***in heart out ! 🤩
Back then, the live performance were better than the recordings. All their songs are different and unique.
Great reaction video and respect to those who have passed, don't forget Andy Gibb, their youngest brother, died way too young. Four phenomenal voices.
2/15/21 New Orleans
I like seeing the younger generation enjoying oldies. I love your reaction. You really express it. Bee Gees are the greatest. It's sad that Barry lost his 2 brothers shown here. He also lost his younger brother prior,Andy Gibb, that also has songs. Their music will always live on. All their songs are awesome. God bless Barry and his brothers.
One thing about the Bee Gees, you could see the brothers were real close to each other. They really loved each other. They were each other's best friend. This is the way it should be. Barry will say sometimes. He really misses his brothers. They had real brotherly love for each other.
You have to hear " Massachusetts, " live, then you'll hear them live ! They sound as beautiful as in a studio. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
At the peak of their fame the BGs were nothing short of a phenomenon... This song in particular was what we used to call a "babymaker".. slow dancing to this with your girl back in the day was a sure fire way to get busy lol
I will say this they didnt need auto tune. And they had a younger brother andy gibbs who died before the other brothers.
You need to watch one night only. Its their concert from las vegas in 1997. Its amazing
Bee Gees are GOAT ❤❤❤
I loved your reaction to the Bee Gees!!! I can see you appreciate truly good music! The Bee Gees were a phenomenon when I graduated high school! Loved, loved, loved them! i bought an album at the time. I wish todays music was more like this!
They were AMAZING LIVE! Won dance competition 💃🏼🕺
To their Song Staying Alive!
I saw the Bee Gees live in 1979 in the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto Canada. They were astounding!
You are listening to raw talent and voices!!!
Not the crap from now a days!!!
REAL TALENT REAL VOICES
Live in concert they never miss. Every song perfect. Every song better then the next.
Bee Gees, Staying Alive
This is live, no autotune, one take!
They were every bit as good live as they were in the studio. Every bit as good!
There is an amazing documentary about them on HBO "How do you Mend a Broken Heart"... so so good.
Loved the documentary, it was so respectful & full of amazing information that many fans may not have known!!!
Very good!!! Now I can’t quit listening to them.
have you ever watched the Joy of the Bee Gees on CZcams? It's less than an hour and I think covers their career a lot better, I guess I've seen all the documentaries of the Bee Gees and found this one disappointing
I just watched it tonight, and loved it. Excellent.
My parents used to always play Bee Gees in the car, and as a kid, I always liked the music but would never admit it, because it was back when they "weren't cool". Watching that doc made me fall in love with them all over again, and I have been having a Bee Gees renaissance. I've been listening to them on repeat now!!
Barry in the middle, Robin and Maurice 3 Gibb brothers, yes its live!!!❤
No auto tune here straight talent
Words, I started a joke, Fanny be Tender, For Whom the Bell Tolls (live). Love that you love the Bee Gees!
I love the bee gees. Thanks for your lovely reaction
They can describe the feeling of love very well, so they must have had it before
They toured all over the place. They wrote over 1000 songs even for other artist. 3 bothers. Barry sings the falseto. They also played their own instruments. Great Reaction, welcome to the world of "DISCO."
Here are some facts about the Bee Gee's:
1.Barry Gibbs is 2 years older than I am. I grew up in this Era called DISCO.
2.Barry was the lead singer and his brother's were mostly backup, but all 3 were GREAT.
3.This was Family Harmony at its best.
(Three voices that sounds like one).
4.They were a normal band until they tried something different.
5.It was an accident, they decided to sing "FALSETTO" for fun.
6.The people loved it, and DEMANDED more.
7 This became their unique, signature sound, and trademark that shot them to the top.
8. Barry was the lead singer, Robin and Maurice HARMONIZED ALSO IN FALSETTO.
9.Their unique sound that made them famous.
10 If you listen close you can hear the Falsetto of all 3.
11. It became their standard. The Disco Era was dying at this point.
12. The Bee Gee's Music, breathed new life into the Disco Era.
13, That kept DISCO alive and popular for many more years.
14. The Bee Gee's wrote 1030 songs in their life.
15.They wrote many songs, for other famous artist, who made those songs famous.
16.They broke many long standing records, in their lifetime.
17. They wrote all of their own music.
18. And all 3 played instruments themselves.
19. They would be honored that a new generation is hearing their music.
20. Feel free to check out my facts for yourself.
The recorded live and all the proceeds were donated. Robin and Maurice are twins. I saw them live, indeed they sound as good if not better live. It’s good to feel your reaction pause and all. They wrote a song for Mr. Otis Redding called “To Love Somebody” unfortunately a month before. Mr. Redding passed away. They have been playing music since 1956 I believe.
Everybody is melting here
Yes, you are correct, that’s Barry’s voice as lead singer. Great reaction by the way, very authentic. Yes it was performed live.
Seen them live, absolutely magical ❤❤❤❤
Are they that good - - Yes, yes, they are that good!!
Barry has been Knighted by king and Queen of England so it's Sir Barry now 🤟👍💕
I think if you don't pause it's not a genuine reaction. These three have the ability to take your breath away!!
🥰😇🧡🗣🫂 soothing sound to my heart.
they didnt sing this live here (ofcourse) the sound is studio-recorded and this the official videoclip
Yeah. The Bee Gees are epic.
You need to hear some of Robin's leads. He was called the best white soul singer of his generation by peers and many critics. His voice on ballads could make you cry. Amazing vibrato. Barry took more leads in the mid 70's because the falsetto was popular in the "disco era" which they considered R&B. They didn't even know what "disco" was.
yes it warms you up great reaction SwaggyReacts
Awesome reaction. I love the Bee Gees! Thx for sharing ♥
Live concerts were increadable..british brothers💌
Righteous brothers are blue eyed soul....you'll love them too
i believe this is a live studio recording with no audience. except for the lucky staff
There are videos of live performances. Back then you either listened to recordings, the radio or saw them live...lol. No MTV until 1981 or internet like now.
My time! My music! I’m in my 70s, and Barry Gibb still makes my heart beat a little faster💕
Performance was just as remarkable live
welcome to the 70's brother.
Been singing when the twins were 6 n barry was 9..perfect nateral harmonies..
Barry is the one in the middle singing lead who likes like a) Jesus or b) the ideal model for a shampoo commercial. Also check out More Than A Woman. If you want to do a comparison reaction, try reacting to the Bee Gees version of More Than a Woman and Tavares' version; both versions appear in the movie Saturday Night Fever.
Their falsetto vocal range was developed in the 1970's by far their most dominant era - their 70's sound had a Rnb , soulful , funky sound and they took Disco to a whole new level making them mega stars across the planet.
I loved your reaction. Your face said it all. The joy, happiness, and appreciation for this music was all there. Your smile made me smile.😁❤
Just so beautiful
Yes Barry is the middle one, his falsetto is ranked #1 of all time 👍, this is studio done though no auto tune all their beautiful harmony, sadly Barry is last Gibb brother alive today, he has a new album out called Greenfields done with country artists 💕
So many great bee gee songs, it hard to catch up. thanks for your reactions 💞💞
BARRY GIBB is the last brother standing both of his two brothers already gone including their younger brother ANDY GIBB, check out the voice of the other brother ROBIN GIBB the one without the beard, a song called I STARTED A JOKE and MASSACHUSETTS there is an official video of those songs, ROBIN GIBB has the most unique voice in music industry
He has 3 bothers that passed away.
They were great in person they were DISCO as in Saturday Night Fever, they were it in that era.
I love, love, love that you love them!! I grew up on the Bee Gees and their music never gets old. If you've ever seen the 1978 movie Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta, the Bee Gees have many songs on that sound track. More Than A Woman is one of the best songs on there. You should really watch this movie, because all the music on there is great!! Pull up the soundtrack and give it a listen😊💜🎶🎶 Too Much Heaven ALWAYS gives me chills and makes me cry!💜
Goat!
And I love your honest and joyful reaction! Great!
