Born in 1962 I was shoveling as soon as I could walk, Seriously. In 1979 I saw my first snowblower and the neighbor who owned it two doors down was a celebrity. Finished university in 1988 and bought my first snowblower, a Toro 8/24, in 1992. Living on the East coast of Canada where the snow is big and often followed by rain. The result was a heavy concrete, slush that was really hard to move. The Toro was amazing. Then I bought another Toro 8/24 after I lost my first one in a shed fire. Next was my Honda 13/32 commercial tracked. Quiet and smooth but just lacked that certain umph needed for the heavy stuff. Two years ago, came my beast. The Toro 14/32 monster. Love it love it. No shear pins to worry about which is a big deal here in the east. Just turned 60. Finally last month I bought a used 2009 Kubota BX 25 that was in great shape. Has a cab, bucket and back hoe. Only used for summer landscaping. Needed a bit of work such as a new heater for the cab, Wiper blade and motor, new tires and led lights. Added the new commercial 48 inch snowblower. I have reached the final stage in my snow blowing life and ready for it. Cheers gentlemen to whatever the winter throws at us.
Hi About Time, thats a great story. I got a Craftsman YT4000 lawn tractor with a Bercomac snow blower attachment when I got the property, it worked well but I had a lot of trouble going up the steep grade on the driveway, so a year and a half later I decided I needed something four wheel drive. I didn't even think of a full blown tractor at that point but as I was looking, sub compacts started popping up and with 0% financing I worked out the numbers with all the projects on the fairly new property I decided to pull the trigger, and glad I did... Also I grew up in the east coast (NB) and I totally know about the wet sloppy wet snow... Great tractor you have, and you will find jobs to do i'm sure... Put a video up if you can. ;)
