Rim Guard goes right inside your tires, so it's out of the way, it doesn't freeze, and doesn't corrode. It's made from natural materials, so it's safe around livestock and pets if it spills out. Rim Guard liquid ballast adds more weight to the back side of your tractor improving stability, loader performance, and power to the ground. Find your closest dealer at bit.ly/3d0whX0

Thanks for having us! 💚
Best thing about these they seem simple and basic. Just what we need today.
I just purchased a Wessex AFR Flail Mower and had an issue where the engine was not wanting to initially fire after assembly. It ended up being a flooded engine do to the jostling around in shipping and unloading.
After contacting GWT they immediately opened a case with the vendor support and we were able to resolve the issue very quickly.
Also wanted to note that this was on a Saturday late afternoon. Support from GWT and Wessex worked with me even into Sunday. I'm confident I'll be going back to them for my next purchase.
Nice Good to see quality English machinery have used wessex tipping trailers & a old PTO finishing mower for many years and nearly made local to me all the best with this business venter thanks again
I bought a PTO tiller from Wessex this spring. Only tilled a maybe 200 m2 so far without hickups. Quality of Wessex is superb.
I really dig what your doing with your product line.. Well built , customer inquiry for service , purposeful, the ability to fix it yourself , affordability and parts availability is key to product..
Thanks Adam. Doin' our best!
Blessings to you and your family, keep the videos coming. Band of brothers and sisters 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you sir, stay cool this summer
I'll take one of each and two of everything.
Nice Machine's.
Thanks for sharing
🪶✨
This would be perfect for an area that is vert soft ground that a 3-4 k tractor could never drive over. Great idea!!
Outstanding information
I could see the selling point of one of these machines, even though I have tractor mounted units, most significant sized farms have an ATV because of they are lightweight and handy, easy to get around. They are much lighter than even a small tractor, if you have tight trails or wet areas, this might give you an option that you won’t have with a 3-4 ton tractor. ATV’s are a much smaller footprint, in both size and weight.
It's great seeing Wessex products available here in the USA. They had another distributor, in the South if I remember right. They also had Honda engines. I suppose Honda is no longer selling those for the North American market? Flail mowers seem to be a great rough cut option and we have had brands in the past that sold product here and have gone out of business, but their mowers are still kicking right along. It's a great design.
No Honda anymore.
Oooh, Brilliant! I like these.
Cool looking mower
Yeah. New video. Appreciate you.
Thanks for watching :)
Great content and information! Liked, Viewed, Shared, Subscribed!
You're the man!
Appear to have great cut quality for the grass in there promo vidoes impressive machines
I forgot to thank you for my 2038R I recently purchased from GWT, I was hoping for some merch to promote GWT. But once again thank you. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hope you enjoy it!
Brilliant design
Woah nice mowers ty
Interesting pice of equipment
I cant help but laugh at the Idea that this took multiple takes to film and you just walking from home to home “Can we cut your field?”
Americans are definitely missing out on international products. Keep up the good work!
We should do that some day :)
Mott made a tow behind flail mower back in the 1960’s and 1970’s that you could pull behind a garden tractor.
I would have mounted the wheels behind so it doesn’t mat down the grass.
Why? It mows matted grass as well as unmatted grass. This isn't a brush hog. Plus, the weight distribution is much different with the tires behind it vs the side. This was the best way to mow soft, mucky areas with the lowest risk of sinking in.
Nice machines 👍
I like this and need this 😍
Love it
Would the first rotary version compare to a swisher? What I would like is wheels in front of the deck, something that allows the mowing deck to get right up against a fence
selling my 60 inch brush hog so I can get one of these. amazing design
Question, would this work being pulled by a traditional riding lawn tractor? I have a lawn that gets mowed as needed but a marshy bit that only dries out enough to get a mower back to it after a few months of going on mowed....I was sorta picturing taking off the mower deck and pulling this with the mower?
MOTT MOWERS same thing we bought two of them in the early 90's made in USA.
I'm from EU. I've read the comments, thus this text. And I'm using wessex flail mower (which is the exact copy of french carroy giraudon flail mower, what is btw omitted by the guy from UK) 8th year. Absolutely non-destructable piece of machinery. Extremely well engeneered and tested, sturdy as hell. "Eats" 200cm tall grass with no problem, as well as small trees and bushes up to 2" / 60mm in diameter (at least this with 18-20-23HP engine). Heavy flail 'hammers' (350g per two) require no sharpening as they cut in general by weight x speed (this pto has 6000-8000 rev per min). Questions regarding sharpening are thus neglible. You just don't do it, it's waste of time. The fact is grass will be shattered at the ends, but don't expect golf course after one use of flail mower at 2m tall grassland. It's not designed for it.
I think I will mow more often with my old mower. The price of that is a deal killer
Have Wessex considered making something to compete with the BCS two-wheel tractors. We ended up buying one as it was about the only thing that we could manoeuvre around in our wood as it matured.
Beautiful hardware setup! Are the engines large enough to avoid the California small engine ban?
My best recommendation is to stay away from California.
They need a conversion kit for quick connect bobcat (or loader tractor) hookup like a forestry mulcher.
What is the safety shutoff system if a wheel rides up a stump/rock/etc and it flips over?
Just hit the kill switch that it comes with.
I like the rotary mower which could replace my first generation DR tow behind. Two questions. 1. Is it possible to get the rotary mower with swing blades instead of the fixed blade? 2. Are either the rotary or flair mowers able to bust up small trees? If so what diameter? Thanks
No swing blades, up to 2" diameter on the AFX
Would love to see a “mow off” in some thick stuff between this HD 5’ model and one of the Funny Tops. Assuming the Funny Top would be the winner??? Is this more for folks that don’t have a tractor, or I could be missing other uses
Puncture resistance include locust tree thorns? That's my concerns around here.
Sure...resistant, not proof.
can it be off set to one sides you don't have to run you atv or side by side through the rush constantly?
Yes, we show that in the video
Perfect for Blueberry fields.
Makes me want to buy 40 acres even more!
Nova tractor out of Texas sells a tow behind flail mower very similar. I own one and it SUCKS! It has eaten belts from day one with very little work and I' ve been waiting months for promised replacements!
Should've bought a Wessex! J/K, sorry about your troubles.
COURTNEY WITH THE GUN SHOW!
Are these built in the UK or just Assembled in th UK?
I would like to see the price point of a 96 or 110 inch if possible since that is what i need for this property
What is the price range on this machines from small to large
Here you go: www.goodworkstractors.com/?s=wessex
Prices range from financing to financing plus and then financing pro
@@b16crxifyYou nailed it! That’s how it works in brains damaged world!👍
I’m going to pull it with a dog sled team win win
Wessex are around for years great stuff all this started out for sheep farmers and lads with cattle that cant take a tractor in
I bet it wouldn’t be fun to clean after going thru any wisteria or kudzu. Or any thick vines or bailing wire or rope.
The obvious questions - is there a PTO version available, is there a diesel version available?
They make 3 point linkage PTO flail mowers whether there available in the USA would be the next question hope this is helpful
When are they going put a set on that Machine. What the price.
Hey Ron, put a set of what on the machine? Pricing found here: www.goodworkstractors.com/?s=wessex
Courtney are you moving away from the RAMMY products?
No sir. These are pull behind machines, Rammy sells front-mount. Just another quality option.
How difficult are the flail cutters to change and if they need sharpening, how is that accomplished?
They just bolt on...sharpen like you would a mower blade.
Depending on the design of the "blades" they are self sharpening on most flails. You only have to replace then if you bend them or break em off
with fuel this high and going up this machine almost doubles the use. although it might still be worth it just for it's usefulness.
Gas prices are the same as they were 14 years ago. www.statista.com/statistics/204740/retail-price-of-gasoline-in-the-united-states-since-1990/
Not bad considering how inflation has severely affected everything else. Tractors and ATV's have probably gone up 30-40% in that same time span.
300 Kg converts to 661 Lbs.
Yeah, the 60" AFR weighs over 700 lbs.
I love how people are comparing a $6k tow behind with a $40k and up tractor and PTO attachment combination
Nice product. The flail mower costs c. $8,500 which is actually not bad for that type of equipment.
Yeah, that's for the heaviest duty, biggest unit too. The rest are less.
63" for $8,600 is little high .....
Need the weights changed over to stone, 🤣
$5254.00 starting price, why not just buy a zero turn mower ?
Because it’s a completely different machine
Really,I don’t think you can cut tall field grass with a 5245 zero turn
@johnragan9959 I did it for years with a $6k 22hp machine, then upgraded to a larger, more expensive one with 28hp in '17. I use it like a brushhog, and also mow 15 acres of grass every week.
I've taken both machines through 9 foot tall weeds, grass, and small oaks and other trees in the 1.5" range.
@@throngcleaver
Which machine is this?
It is quiet cost prohibitive for an attachment considering that it have to be mobilized.
Looks like a maintenence nightmare to me.
Flail mowers have individual blades, so there is more maintenance because of that. Not terribly so. Unsure what seems like a nightmare.
@0:25 Who was the genous that put the engine all off on one side?
You didn't think that the ground may be soft? LMAO
How about you start with spelling the word correctly. Then, watch the video where we are on very soft ground and it doesn't sink because of the flotation tires. Those geniuses came up with a great design.
@@GoodWorksTractors LOL That's what I get for not proofreading. On my keyboard "O" is right next to "I". Believe it or not, I do know how to spell.
But I also wouldn't have gone cheap and would have put the engine in the middle, or offset just a little to balance the load on each tire.
Put a scale under each tire. I'll bet 100 bucks that the tire with the engine above it is much heavier. Make a video of that to prove me wrong. If I am.
I cannot believe that you made a big deal out of a typo, and tried to defend your design.
You know... I'm not even going to go back and fix GENIUS. Because my typo isn't as dumb as putting the engine all off to one side like that. LOL
Who cares man. Watch the full length video coming out soon. Clips of it in this one. Incredibly soft muck I’m mowing in and it doesn’t ever come close to sinking. You’re arguing a point of insignificance.
@@GoodWorksTractors I'm not arguing. You are. I'm just saying that if I were the engineer, I would have bounced the load equally. I mean... doesn't that make any sense to you at all?
On the other hand, the mower fills a gap that I haven't seen filled before, in that now people can use, just about anything that you can put a trailer hitch on, to mow the lawn/field.
Perhaps you should engineer, manufacture and sell your very own flail. 😂
SHARPENING ??????
Yep
why is the guy on the ATV wearing a helmet. ?? LOL. he's going like 5 MPH.
For $ 5.000.00 plus dollars--- you can buy a good used tractor and a bush hog!!!
Sure
Looks like good options for folks who DONT have a pto tractor and pto mower already. Better to see some UK 🇬🇧 gear than Chinese crap 💩
The format with the staged scripted good old boy yuk it up is to me nothing but salesman BS hype. Keep going and I see a future not unlike Everything Attachments, the height of phony.
next time we'll have AI read to you from the manual!
