  • Here I help a client clean up their yard of unwanted debris, weeds and material to prep for a new lawn install. They had just recently purchased this home and the yard was left in disarray from the previous owner, filled with concrete, bricks, decorative items and more. So the T66 with the Bucket, Harley Rake and Landscape Rake made quick work of it all!
    Equipment Used:
    Skid Steer/CTL: 2021 Bobcat T66
    Harley Rake: Bobcat 6' Soil Conditioner
    Landscape Rake: Bobcat 5b Landscape Rake
    Excavator: 2021 Bobcat E26 R-Series

    I used to own my own bobcat. Rented one of these to finish reshaping my yard. A year later, had a lot of compliments that my yard looked like I laid green carpet because it was so smooth. Really enjoyed using the lawn rake.

    I picked up my T66 in January. I'm not a contractor and its the first time I have ever operated anything like that before. I use it to maintain my two campgrounds along with my personal property. I absolutely love it! I have been wanting to get one of these power rakes for a while now to do exactly what you are doing right now.

    You need to add a grapple or grapple bucket to your attachments. It will save you so much time you will be amazed. We bought one of the rock-rake grapple buckets and it works so much faster when dealing with old yards like this where there is all kinds of rock, concrete, bricks etc. laying around. Cuts prep time before power raking by at least 4x.

    • @jackfoxxx68
      @jackfoxxx68 Před rokem

      The rake does a couple of things. It will relieve compaction and then grade the property to its smooth. Then you can plant fresh grass and start a lawn care program to control the weeds. Weeds are a constant battle and will need to be managed regardless.

    Great video. That is a lot of work.... I have a large yard project that will be about 3 acres of that with pinky sized popple trees to be ground down also. That and sticker bushes. That is how I found your video which is very educational and I know that is a lot of work to go over and over again. If you wouldn't mind I was curious of about how much you would charge someone to go in particularly pick out all the garbage weeds out of their yard bring in black dirt and grade it all to perfection like you did. If I had to guess, I am on the cheap side and do stuff like that by myself I would guess at least $10,000. Am I in the ballpark? It could even be more in my opinion. What a great job you did on their yard 👍 and that big tree that was laying there somebody would probably come and take that for free for firewood. And I see you did not go around their septic tank with the Harley rake and I'm not seeing any clean out pipes or drain field. I'm sure it is all gravity fed drain field since it is going downhill.

    • @CarlsonSonLandscapingLLC
      @CarlsonSonLandscapingLLC  Před 2 lety

      I have only done a few power raking jobs. At the moment, I generally bid jobs on a combination of both of those. I have an effective base hourly rate for each piece of equipment and bid based on the amount of time a estimate I will use each for (with minimums of course).
