CLASSIC COTSWOLDS VILLAGES- THE DUNTISBOURNES- ENGLAND

Welcome back to the channel. Today I'm exploring four classic picture postcard Cotswolds villages know as The Duntisbournes.
The name Duntisbourne refers to the Dunt stream that meanders through the valley and village lanes. It was once diverted to run alongside the roads to wash the wheels of wagons and horses’ feet.
Duntisbourne Abbots is the largest of the four but still intimate in scale. Duntisbourne Leer, Middle Duntisbourne and Duntisbourne Rouse are hamlets, yet the church at Rouse is one of the glories of Cotswold church architecture, Saxon in origin and beautifully sited on the steep-sided valley with views over fields and woods.
St Peter's Church in the main village of Duntisbourne Abbots was built in the 12th century, on the site of an earlier, Saxon, church. Its tower dates from Norman times, and has belfry lights of pierced stone lattice work that date from the 13th century. Inside the church, the font also dates from Norman times, while the unusual chancel arch dates from an extensive
The atmospheric church of St Michael stands in idyllic Cotswold countryside in the hamlet of Duntisbourne Rouse. The church dates to the Saxon period, and boasts a Norman crypt beneath the chancel. There are 13th century wall paintings in the chancel and a set of medieval.

Beautful brace of Cotswold boondocks there Adrian.
I remember cycling around here in the 1970s before heading onto the Youth Hostel (YHA) in Stow-on-the-Wold.
You are certainly getting very high viewing figures on your videos - well done!
