If we don't need ID to vote, then we shouldn't need one to operate a motor vehicle, or at the bank, the doctor, the pharmacy, etc. If it's discriminatory to require ID to vote, it's discriminatory for all other reasons.

@@thedin3467 The logic is clear. Voting is a constitutional right. Boarding a plane and buying alcohol are not. Rights are granted to everyone, not just people who get an ID.
I'm making a similar argument to 2nd amendment proponents. The right to bear arms is clear cut in the constitution. We shouldn't allow the government to make it harder for people to bear arms or to vote in elections.
I just voted in a local election in Irving, TX, and the poll workers would NOT allow you to vote without showing an ID. Thank GOD above garland is not on the supreme court. His time as AG will end at some point...but not soon enough.

Yes, because often times the laws are used like Jim Crow laws where it isn't explicitly stated, but the way it is handled is discrimination or an undue burden
Example - Alabama passed voter id laws and then moved to close every single dmv in a neighborhood of color in the state. EVERY single one.
VOTING is the most important thing an American can do , and it don't require an ID ? If I refuse to show ID at a traffic stop , I GO TO JAIL . If I don't show ID at the store I can't buy beer or cigarettes ! What the HELL is this country coming to ?

That is correct. They cheat and they have many ways they cheat. ID is just one of them. Some states require ID and others don't. We can see the problems with the ones that don't require ID. But they all have other ways of cheating. This is not a one thing issue. However it is a big one.

The only reason to oppose a Voter ID is that you are in favor of fraud. When both political parties have questioned the validity of recent votes , having Voter ID would help legitimize results. Voter ID might actually help tame the rhetoric and calm the anger of this country.

Wisconsin passed voter id laws. They then closed most dmvs in neighborhoods of color and cut bus lines from those neighborhoods to one's with active dmvs.

You have to have a state ID or a drivers license in order to open a bank account, receive government assistance board airplanes not to mention just about every state requires any citizen over the age of 16 to have at a minimum a state ID on them when out in public or outside of their residence property lines.
I’m asked for my ID when I vote! I live in a small town and the lady that babysat me when I was kid and has known me all my life ask me for ID. I don’t argue with her I just hand her my ID and they do what they do and hand it back, lol I don’t see the problem.

I showed ID ONCE In 1971 at registrars office, at age 18 when I first registered to vote and received my voter registration card, which I’ve never used in 52 years. Nothing to see here 😂

Every election I've voted in since I was 18 , ( I'm 61 now ) required an I. D. I've voted in person I might add which is proper way on election day . Polls open 6 a. m. - close 8 or 9 p. m. and votes are counted , what gives these people a right to change it and steal votes and election ?
