      Forgiving PPP loans without requiring those companies to work it off at community resource programs is just stone cold stupid. Why is it that you think having an educated populace likeother 1st world countries is stupid but letting multi-million and billion dollar profit corporations off the hook for their loans is fine? Especially after they already take $292 BILLION in socialist, taxpayer funded corporate welfare every year

    • @baronvonraschke77
      @baronvonraschke77 Před měsícem

      @@Slw1111 PPP loans were DESIGNED to be partially or completely forgiven. PPP stands for Paycheck Protection Program which was part of the deal passed by Congress and signed by the president during the Covid shutdown in 2020. Basically the idea was to pay businesses government money, just as citizens received checks, in order to retain their employees during the government imposed government shut down of private businesses. Your representation of this is a COMPLETE LIE. Moreover, even if you want to criticize the program there is no denying the program was passed by Congress. The Biden administration is trying to do this unilaterally from the executive branch, despite the SC ruling denying them the authority. You are either completely ignorant or a propagandist, you tell me which.

    • @Slw1111
      @Slw1111 Před měsícem

      @@tlw6932 Ok, I will help you. Individuals pay taxes, corporations rarely do. The PPP loans were designated to be used to pay worker wages. Audits have shown that only 25% of those funds went to workers. The rest of the workers were fired or laid off so they didn't have to be paid. The other 75% of those PPP loans went directly into the pockets of CEO's, Shareholders, Politicians, and to pay company debts. So those loans were used in a fraudulent manner and then forgiven. Furthermore, per the Institute of Taxation and Economic Policy, 342 companies paid less than a 14% tax rate, which is significantly lower than the 22% tax rate individuals earning between $63,000 and $100,500 pay. 87 companies paid less than a 10% tax rate (the rate people earning $16,550 or less a year pay). Of those 87 companies, 55 paid less than 5% and 23 of those paid a 0% tax rate or LESS. Meaning they had a negative tax rate and were actually given a "refund" on taxes that they never paid in the first place. In addition to that US corporations take $292 BILLION in corporate welfare every single year, and guess who pays that welfare? Oh right, individual taxpayers. And yet here people are, bitching about educating our citizens like other 1st world countries have done for decades. This just proves to the entire planet what a f*cking joke this country is.

      The ignorance surrounding this issue reveals the crimes right wing media commits on a daily basis. Imagine if we decided we can't free the slaves because some of them saved their pennies for decades and bought their freedom? Giving the rest their freedom wouldn't be fair, right? Or if we decided we can't provide homesteads because some scraped their pennies together and bought their farms, so giving others free farms wouldn't be fair, right? We would NEVER have made progress as a society if Americans didn't possess the integrity to do what was right regardless of their own circumstances. It's all public record as public funds (taxes) are used for their compensation. If some teacher needs to work a summer job to make ends meet, it's due to poor money management on their part.
      Tenured teachers; the worst kind can sit back and collect their salary even when their students can't read Green Eggs And Ham or can't add 2 + 2. Never underestimate the incompetence of unions and government. Example? Well, the Federal government is handing out "free" money (student loan forgiveness) & "aid" to other countries as if it were literally free money. If they can simply hand out "free" money without a repayment being required, then what is that money worth? Free money isn't free; it will have to be paid back through higher taxes at the multigenerational level and through inflating the debt away with higher interest rates.
      Debasement of your dollar comes slowly until recently--costs of everything accelerated under the current potato since he took office and he keeps on handing money out while allowing illegals to enter & reap "free" housing, food, cell phones, healthcare & if they slip in with kids, those kids get an education at the taxpayer's expense.
      The irony is the people that are getting their debt canceled will be paying through higher taxes and higher cost of goods since money is being handed out with no strings attached while the people that actually make stuff have to make stuff and sell it to earn a living. If everybody's getting money for nothing, the people making stuff WILL raise their prices to get their cut of that "free" pie that some people are getting for no reason aside from carrying debt.

      “Today I voted to repeal the Biden Administration’s student loan cancellation proposal because we simply cannot afford to add another $400 billion to the national debt. There are already more than 50 existing student loan repayment and forgiveness programs aimed at attracting individuals to vital service jobs, such as teachers, health care workers, and public servants. This Biden proposal undermines these programs and forces hard-working taxpayers who already paid off their loans or did not go to college to shoulder the cost. Instead, we should be focusing on bipartisan student debt reforms that reduce the cost of higher education and help all Americans.” NOPE LOOKS LIKE YOU FORGOT TO CHECK YOUR FACTS!!!

I never even received a report card with the exception of the 1st quarter progress reports. Also as I graduated my brother was graduating grammar school, and another high school tuition was months away. Absolute joke. Who is getting this relief and how are they chosen?? By spying on them?? Or do we just begin the search for recipients in swing states, and go from there??

    This idea that we are need to reduce debt for teachers and public servants, sounds goood but PAY THEM MORE, the reason we have so many strange teachers that are doing a terrible job in the education department is because they dont get paid enough. You get what you pay for

    It’s really simple you sign a contract, you pay the loan. Now what the gov’t should do is look at the facilities being constantly built at colleges… new halls, new sports facilities while the heads of colleges and tenured professors make millions, that’s where the gov’t should look at why tuition that 20 years ago was in the single digit thousands to now in some cases 10’s of thousands… while our grades go down, and education testing shows proven poor results… like the man said why the hell am I paying for someone else to get debt relief… I got 2 kids, real bills and a mortgage maybe we should be handing out to the real people getting pinched and paying their taxes.

    It makes no sense to go to a university that charges outrageous tuition fees and not be guaranteed a job once they graduate but a less expensive trade school would give them the hands on training to be able to get work immediately after graduating, my husband is a retired construction superintendent because he learned how to do his job by working at all types of construction jobs and taught himself before the internet was invented, he was a supervisor to college degree’s engineers who had absolutely no practical hands on experience. He would come home and tell me stories about some of things that happened at work that even I recognized as something that was very stupid and I ama woman who didn’t even graduate higher school, the theme seemed to be if it worked on paper the thought it would work in real life regardless of the topography of the land.

The go to Florida for vacations when they could work through the break. Further, the retail and restaurant and healthcare industries no longer have this part of the workforce! They are gone.

    He says they (Education Secretary & team) are “proud” of their work. 😬Proud? Hmm yeah I don’t think they should be proud. I agree with Manchin. These students are not educated on the front end. The Feds are just throwing money at them - 17-18yo’s. Do they even know what accruing interest is? Is ANYONE coaching them that the $60-80k loans they are taking Will. Have. To. Be. Paid. Back. and the career they are studying for may only pay them $35-40k to start? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Does the student understand it’s an obligation? Not free. An obligation. Sorry - not fair to saddle and transfer this debt to those of us responsible enough to have paid our school debts off. Anyone explain to go to a community college for first two years and pursue college credit there AND work? Maybe a 2 year degree would work. What about the trades? They are pulling down 6 figures, upper 5 to start. Sorry not sorry Mr Education dude - You. Are. A. Big. Fail.
