    This reminds me of the EPA ban on floral carbon refrigerants to protect the ozone layer in the hole that was growing in it. All of a sudden this is not a problem. Now we’re changing refrigerants again because of potential global warming. The prices of air conditioning and heat pumps have increased dramatically with no improvement in efficiency, the EPA needs to be defunded

    • @mithicash1444
      @mithicash1444 Před měsícem

      That is not a fair comparison. Globally, there was significant restrictions and reductions on ozone depleting substances, which included most refrigerants. As we moved away from this, yes, it is no longer a problem. Especially in the last couple of years, if I remember right, there was stats showing that the ozone had almost completely recovered to normal levels because of those changes.

    The truth is, when it comes to pollution there’s always going to be somebody that’s a bigger polluter than the next. But at what scale? That should be the question. They’re talking about this coal plant that is the biggest polluter. Is it like .002% of a bigger polluter? Or is it like 300%? Because somebody’s always gonna be more than the next. No matter how good the system is working. So are we splitting hairs here? I didn’t hear anything pertaining to this.

    Look up the current year’s Livermore Labs flow chart of energy produced and consumed in USA. Look up the charts from previous years. Do you see growth in “green” energy sources that is significant enough to provide power for the USA?
