Bellingham Heat Pump Upgrade with Mitsubishi 2 zone Smart-Multi

In this video we show a recent Bellingham heat pump upgrade where we re-used the existing duct system for the downstairs, and cut in and installed a whole new duct system for the upstairs. With the ability to put 2 separate air handlers on one outdoor unit, this is the ideal system for zoning homes.

Nice neat install. I have a similar setup in Massachusetts but one regret I have is not creating a conditioned insulated attic. I hope to tackle that soon. Right now the attic temps go way over 100 quite often in the summer and are essentially the outdoor temp in the winter(minus 5 was our low this winter). This causes the system to have to work far harder when you need cooling or heat.

Is it ok to have pvc p-trap in cold attic?

Thank you. You mention using two air handlers as a two zone system. In such an install is it necessary that the upstairs and downstairs be closed off from one another?
