  • r/Choosingbeggars Fellas, have I got a girl for you! She's unemployed, lazy, entitled, and wants to drain you of every dollar you own! The woman in this dating profile genuinely expects to date a man who has a car, a job, and a solid 6-figure job, even though she brings absolutely nothing to the relationship. And to top thing's off, she has a kid and a baby-daddy.

they're not even supposed to TOUCH food even if the person just bought it from them literally moments before and had a problem with it. I know Dunkin tells you that they can't take it back, but they'll just make you a new one. and if you get a refill they're supposed to throw the old cup out and give you a new one with new ice. they used to do refills with a discount if you brought your own Dunkin branded mug in and you had a receipt from earlier in the day but I haven't seen anybody do that quite some time so they probably stopped doing that too for the same reason

I had accepted a painting commission for a friend's friend. Didn't take any money upfront. Was only charging $100 for a 34x26 canvas. It was an elaborate Rick and Marty painting. I had made a presketch, which she approved. She told me she needed it by Christmas so I planned on having it done a few days before to give her time to wrap it or whatever she would need to do. I had worked 4 hours a night for one week on the painting, keeping her updated on the process incase she wanted changes. About a week and a half before Christmas she told me she needed it by the weekend (in two days) or she no longer wanted it. Now I knew I could have the painting finished in two days if I tried, but I wouldn't be happy with the end result. So I messaged her, told her I understood and canceled her order. Then finished the painting and gifted to a friend of mine instead. She was pissed. But don't agree on the due date if you need it sooner.

They want us to always "make the moment right" which roughly translates to if someone mistreats you/attacks you, we have to "make it right" and give them whatever they want. The reason the sandwich couldn't get reheated at Starbucks is for a couple reasons, all food safety reasons. 1. since the sandwich had gone cold, bacteria is already beginning to form. reheating can a time cause that to multiply. She would then eat it, get food poisoning and can go the starbucks. 2. could have placed foreign objects such as insects, plastics etc and once again sued the starbucks. Then there is the fact the sandwich was purchased at a different location which may well be franchised and 'owned' by a different person and therefore not the responsibility of the second store because they received no money from the woman

@@helenaborges4880 There is a masters in law, it's just not a common stopping point. If you're going to get a masters in law it's usually one step on the way towards a doctorate in law. If you aren't familiar with the field (which obviously rslash isn't) you might only ever hear about "Juris Doctorate" which is what most lawyers have, which is the step above "Juris Master" which is a masters degree. Juris Master is more common for either law enforcement or various business and management positions, you generally wouldn't stop there if you wanted to be a lawyer.
Like a masters in the medical field, a practicing doctor gets a doctorate, the masters degree below that is more common for lab techs, researchers and even some nurses, it's still in the medical field but you wouldn't be an MD.

Okay, when I was dating I had 5 conditions for the guy I wanted to date.
    1. Had to have a Car
    2. Had to have a Job (preferably one that you can grow in AND that you enjoy doing)
    3. Own/rent place of living or at least paying rent.
    4. No drugs. (Bad experience) smoking, not a complete deal breaker.
    5. Not an alcoholic (really bad experience) social or tasting is not a complete deal breaker.
Here is the catch though, I made sure I followed those conditions as well. I have a job, a car and, at the time,, my own apartment. I didn't smoke and I did enjoy the occasional mixed drink while at a bar with friends. Why is it fair to hold someone you want to spend your life and time with to those standards but not do the same for them?
I'm married now to a wonderful man based off those conditions. We are expecting our first child. I have asked to be a stay at home mom until the youngest is out of 5th grade (3-4 children if possible) BUT I am working with my husband to make sure this is going to be sustainable for both of us, not just throw all the working hours on him solely and if not completely possible then at least have a part time job while kids are at school or nana's to take pressure off him. It's a partnership not a dependence.
No judgement to people who don't want to do it this way or if you have things setup with your spouse this way. That is your decision.

I like the deposit-up-front system, as it keeps things fair for both parties involved. Sometimes an artist can be a little devious and overcharge or not do the art in a timely manner, sometimes the customer is looking for cheap/free art using these tactics.
Best rule is to always give both sides an incentive to follow through on their end of a deal. Deposit up front from the customer to put some stakes on the customer to be honest, and remaining balance paid in full to release the finished artwork so that the artist has to finish the art in order to make the full earnings from it.

Healthy policy is a big deal, and some people doesn't seem to care (until it got them). Some years ago, the restaurants, bakeries, bars, used to give the left overs to people who lived on the streets (they would only give food which was good, but even then it was a lot of food;some organization would even pick on the next day and server to people in need). Until someone got a awful food poison and decided to open a lawsuit. Because the judge couldn't actually said if it was the food (in the sense of the restaurant decided to put something in there), if it was because that person already had a poor healthy (because they lived on the streets), or if it was a case of "maybe they are allergic to something and didn't know?", the decision was that every restaurant, bakery or bar needed to stop giving the left overs, otherwise the could be shut down. It's horrible because they say they are legally obligated to throw in the trash food that is still good, and they know that people will still get the food anyway, but they are not going to disrespect the law (they can't even give to the employees) and get their business close. So yeah lady, they are not going to disrespect the law because of you.

It's entirely possible that someone had their life together at 20 or 30, but then had multiple blows that mean their life has fallen apart by 56. It's also possible that someone never had a chance at getting their life together, such as having a disability or illness that means they can't do much if anything. There are multiple reasons someone may not have their life together enough at 56 to be able to afford an iPad.

I told him that if he wasn’t gonna pay me I was gonna delete the work and he said I didn’t have the balls to do it. I sent his a screen recording of me deleting it and I blocked him. Sadly it didn’t cross my mind to save it before I did delete it, THATS how mad I was. That’s why now when I do commissions I ask for 25% before just like op did in his post.

Hell, from my workplace, I'm not convinced that brains are strictly necessary to get into engineering. I've had to work with process engineers that had no trace of critical thinking. And were making twice what I was, despite their inability to understand why evacuation routes can't be blocked with machinery.
I could have hit any one of them in the head with a brick, and probably make the brick stupid.

@@AlgorithmDG Given that what they were trying to do could have gotten my operators killed in an emergency, I have no patience for their lack of brainpower. Approximation of the first exchange as follows:
"We have operators here, how do they get out in a fire or an active shooter? This aisleway is too narrow to walk through under normal circumstances, let alone an emergency." (I distinctly remember being partially stuck as I said that, having tried to get through to better address the engineers.)
"Well, we don't have room to make this any wider and make it work the way we want it to."
"So, you change the intended outcome to allow enough room to evacuate?"
"No! Six Sigma doesn't allow for that. This is the only way we can do this!"
"Do you really think that this will work, or matter, after an operator dies needlessly? No."
"Well, Six Sigma doesn't mention anything about that, so it's not an issue. The issue is that there's too much wasted space in this layout."
(And round and round we went.)
I suppose, it was more the lack of brainpower paired with the flagrant disregard for our physical safety that got my blood boiling. And that we keep hiring engineers with both those characteristics.

Wedding planners are generally leeches, but most are smart enough to know you can bleed a pig many times but can only skin it once.
It made worst that if you need a kosher or vegetarian option you have to fork out over a $1,000... like, [expletive], you actually expect me to pay you that much to eat the food my lifestyle or religion requires?

But once it came to the price they went silent for two weeks, then told me they were in the hospital during that time and were extremely vague with the reason why. I told them it was no problem and they could just pay whenever they could and again never got back to me. I made the listing public awhile later and the stingray sold pretty quickly after that :)

In 'real life' I would point out that "Unemployed Mom" is a paradox.
Parenthood is the single most important and essential career for the human race, which needs multiple roles with virtually no training or qualifications.
Being a parent yourself now, you will realise that the work is hard but desperately rewarding, with twenty-four hour duty, no pay or retirement plan, and ranges from heartbreaking to hilarious.
In the case of your title, however, you describe individuals who would make absolutely dreadful parents, who are Mummy in name only, not description.
I wish there was another name for women who would rather paint their nails than change a nappy [and I've known some of those, unfortunately]

3:17 my youngest brother legit married one of those dumpster fires. She honest to goodness gave him a list like that when he asked her out. He was in bootcamp at the time so of course didn't have a car, but went out and got one just to get her to date him......needless to say, she does nothing but sit on her ass all day complaining about how she has it harder than anyone else. Like no one else has kids (in school most the day) yet her house has all the flies and animal poop of house on 'Hoarders' without any of the clutter, just doesn't clean. Spends all his money to the point, that my parents have given them about 7 figures worth of support over less than a decade.

They ask for the most COMPLICATED FRAPPUCCINOS and they are usually IMPOSSIBLE to make because they will ask for things that can't physically happen. The tickets for the frappuccinos are usually too big for a trenta cup. They complain about how we made their drinks wrong every time and they always got free drinks. My manager is working on getting a trespassing order against them so they can no longer come into our store or order at our drive through without it being trespassing.

I'm a female who graduated university in 1977 with a high voltage electrical engineer. Had a high paid job, my own car, owned my house paid for and I married a man who at that time worked a blue collar job. We supported each other and he went back to school graduated with his degree and soon equalled me in pay. We bought a bigger house and had two kids, hired a nanny and a housekeeper. We've now been married 43 years, have five grandchildren. A person can always work their way up sometimes a little help is needed to get going in the correct direction. People always are growing and changing ĂŻts so much easier to do it together. We're retired and very happy ❀.
