r/Maliciouscompliance Karen Became Manager, So We Started Fighting Customers
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 29. 03. 2021
- r/Maliciouscompliance In today's episode, OP works at a fast food joint and a Karen takes over as a new manager. On her very first day on the job, Karen retreats to the office and completely ignores the business so she can watch TV. She was even scheduled to work the line that day, so all the other workers were working a man down due to her laziness. The workers eventually become too stressed out due to the toxic work environment, so one of the employees throws a milkshake at a customer, which leads the employees mass quitting. That Karen really messed up her first day on the job!

I can see the store managers logic when they said Jen couldn't have her job back. As justified as it was, it was still assault but I'm glad it worked out!
The problem I have with their logic is that it wasnât entirely Jenâs fault. She was put in a position where she was overworked and being harassed. Itâs not out of the question that if I was in the same situation, Iâd snap too. That woman who got a milkshake shower wasnât making things better. She still couldâve been cordial and civil. My family and I too have experienced bad service at restaurants. But we donât yell at the servers and call them names. we put on a smile and go about our day after we are served. She was verbally abusing an employee so it was no wonder that same employee said âfrick itâ and threw a milkshake in her face. That manager definitely didnât do a good job and just wanted to be lazy. She found out the hard way that being a manager comes with many responsibilities and if she doesnât do certain things it will all blow up in her face. So really the manager is the one that caused that whole situation.
@JerzeVillain and most likely the fact her mother was probably abusive to her before she got kicked out
I don't understand why cops weren't called. That was straight up assault
@@grizzly_manbanimation8436
That's still no excuse, stop absolving Jen of responsibility. If the customer was being horrible then the customer is behaving poorly, Jen throwing the milkshake is Jen behaving poorly. It doesn't matter how bad a day you're having it doesn't excuse throwing a beverage at someone.
Talk back? Fair, though perhaps unwise.
Escalate to physicality? You're the bad guy now.
â@@jordanknight3519 you do realize I didnât absolve her of any responsibility right? Or did you not read my comment clearly. Yes her actions were unacceptable, but you also have to take into account everything she was going through. She was overworked and being harassed. Just like all of us thereâs only so much a person can take before they snap. Not to mention that customer didnât handle things very well either. She was being verbally abusive and rude. I understand she had been waiting awhile for her food. But thatâs no excuse to basically bully someone. My family and I have had bad restaurant service before but we didnt lose our tempers. We were still civil and cordial and went about our day. Not to mention the bitch manager put her in that position in the first place just so she could be lazy. So you canât blame it all on Jen. Yes her actions were unacceptable but neither were the customers or the managerâs.

Sally: "Well, Union laws say I don't have to pay you extra for working on sundays and holidays"

Sally: *shocked Pikachu face*
How the hell does a Union prevent someone getting paid on sundays or holidays? Weren't Unions created to prevent bullshit like that?
@@maximaldinotrap it's because it's corpo dumb logic. Make stuff up to justify their own bs. Obviously the union rules state OP shouldn't be forced to work on Sundays and holidays, but Sally tried to distort it as in "the Union don't allow you to get paid if you work on Sundays and holidays";
Obviously if OP worked the Union would force them to pay OP, and probably a extra on top of their daily salary, but Sally tried to distort it to try making OP work for free.
Once me and my dad were at a Chick fil a at night and it took at least 10 minutes for us to even put in our order because it looked like she was the only person there... I felt really bad for her and the people that drove away behind us...
Yeah, early and late shift CFA is wild. The managers don't expect it to be busy, so they only ever bother to schedule two employees for all of front-of-house (drive-thru ordering, window, drive-thru drinks, desserts/shakes, walk-in cashier, and bagger for walk-in and drive-thru). With only two bodies doing all of that, any rush at all would easily fuck you over. At least, that was how it was at the location I worked at.
The subway at my walmart has a horrible turn over rate, it is so common to see a highschool or college kid working by themselves during dinner hours. I always keep a couple ones in my purse to tip them with because that sh-ts awful.
a
The best thing you can do is be patient and polite to those workers. If you're feeling especially generous, make a compliment to their supervisor or the online surveys every place gives out. People generally only do that for really bad or really good service, so it stands out.
My brother works at a McDonaldâs that only has three people working on a daily basis. From what Iâve heard, itâs awful. People quit without telling people, people are constantly staying late because of no shows, moral is low.
And people do literally 2/3 jobs at a time.
Not gonna lie when he said he married her and they're happy and have 4 kids I smiled big as hell. Wasn't expecting a super happy ending to that story

You're right. I worked for a corporate mcD's years ago. The store manager was always there busting his buns along with the rest of us especially with a couple of no shows. Our managers would show up for extra shifts if we were short too. Everyone worked together to make sure everything went as smoothly as possible. Frankly, partly because corporate gives out bonuses for quick times, or at least they did back then.
I can not agree with a store manager brushing off both a long term good employee and the day manager when they're telling you there's an emergency. I would take their word for it, and find out what's going on before it gets to the point it got to.
I mean, if I were store manager and heard Karen had decided to make her own job easier at the store's expense, I would not be happy. But that's me. OTOH they probably didn't want to come all the way down there at night to either make Karen work or take over themselves.

Technically yes but we dont know what was negotiated with them before or if they even cared about the situation or just wanted to kick Karen's balls for being a Karen. Solidarity is nice but regret can be a hell of a thing.

Malicious compliance what a way to start the day
I love the outcome of the first story. OP you saved Jen in more ways than one, found love with her, and have four beautiful kids together.
As usual you never fail to impress rSlash
Title makes me feel different emotions, dont know if to laugh or be worried
I mean, I laughed
Your pfp is amazing.
As soon as she said "thats the first time someone has ever stood up for me" i knew they would be getting together. but the marriage...seems almost way too good to be true
After Jen threw the shake and disappeared to the back, when OP went to talk to her I wondered if they'd get together. I had the biggest grin when the story ended
I hate to be a choosingbeggar because we're getting free entertainment but I really enjoy your R/Slash commentary after the stories.
God... It's so weird. Like, I am a miserable piece of shit, and I have no fucking idea when it comes to relationships and love and all that. Yet, hearing that the OP not only stood up for Jen, but also married her and has a wonderful, happy family together makes me feel so happy. Like, sometimes, life is not as bad as it seems, you know? I hope their future will be filled with more happy moments
"Lean" has added a new waste, called Skills, where a company is wasting the potential of their employees by not empowering and engaging them. Guess those guys need a refresher for their company culture.
That story between Jen and OP has had the sweetest ending ever. So sweet it melted my heart. Good on both of them.
I was in the middle of watching another rSlash video but the moment I saw the notif for a new one, I immediately clicked.
Lmao same I've rewatched all his videos like 80 times đ
