Took a Sunday drive through Big Bay, Michigan. Made a stop at Squaw Beach/Burns Landing. Seen a historical log cabin over 100 years old. Walk along the sanding Lake that had a small area of rocks that of coarse I had to check out.
Big Bay is an unincorporated community in Marquette County of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is a census-designated place for statistical purposes and does not have any legal status as an incorporated municipality. As of the 2010 census, the CDP had a population of 319.

Stumbled upon this doing some research on my ancestry. My Great-great grandfather was the man who built that cabin. Thank you for taking such an in-depth video of the cabin. So cool to see it up close.

It is always fun to just go drive new area and see what you can find. The beach was beautiful. There was one family on the beach setting up for a picnic and fire just as I was leaving. Big Bay , MI 49808 was used in the Jimmy Stewart movie Anatomy of a Murder. Another interesting area walk along the Dead River starting at Tourist Park in Marquette..some waterfalls there!
Somehow I missed the Thunder Bay Inn. I will make sure and see that on my next trip up that way. I was looking down at a map and maybe missed it then. I plan on returning to this area again this summer. Thanks for all the information. Much appreciated 😊
