On this rather cold day for the month of May that the drive that goes around the park had opened. I was eager to take the ride to the Black Rocks. Once down there between the two towering cliffs the wind rushed through there at what seemed like 50 MPH. I about froze but continued on with my adventure as I was so happy to be there :) I only seen two other people on this cold day which in trade for the cold it made for a awesome adventure of the black rocks known as metamorphosed igneous peridotite. The black rock formations are 1.7 billion years old. How cool is that !
A completely natural bay, untouched by human hands always impresses me. Fascinating with its different and beautiful formations. ❤ I hope you didn't get too cold. Thank you for sharing. 💞
Thank You much for the kind comment and for watching🥰
That's a cool area! The colors are amazing. You picked some good rocks out. Love the black and white rocks. Beautiful area. Thanks for sharing this with us. And Happy Mother's Day on Sunday. 😊
It is a beautiful park to visit. I will be returning for sure ! Thanks much for the Happy Mother's Day wish and for Watching 🥰
I went to the Lake Superior shore of Michigan and found a very nice water-worn chunk of copper sandwiched in an orange-ish rock. I love Michigan's Upper Peninsula
So awesome to find copper in rock. I have found some long ago in the past up in Copper Harbor. I hope to get up that way this summer. Thanks for watching 😊
Just beautiful! Thanks for taking us with❤️

What a beautiful drive in. The scenes are incredible. All nature right there, so rugged and untouched like. Gorgeous. Really enjoyed this video. The rocks there have pretty designs on them and hope you warmed up.

Thank You for watching😊
Those black n white ones, especially 6:18 with a little bit of pink, were pretty cool. Pretty sky blue colors, too, in some of them. It's just so pretty there. I love the topography. And to think in a million years all the cliffs will be rocks on another beach somewhere. Sniffles, you definitely were chilled, lol. Pretty rocks make it worth it. Have a great day, Cherry.
The whole park has so much to offer as far as rocks, views, sunsets that are amazing, trails to walk/hike and picnic areas. I will be checking other parts of the park this summer. Thanks much for watching ! Have a good rest of your night😊
Beautiful stones
Thank you sister😊
What an amazing place! I got to go hunting yesterday . It's going to be raining all next week down here in Mississippi. Our red clay mud is no joke. Thanks for the trip! ❤
Glad to hear you got out before the rain comes back. Wet red clay has got to be very hard to drive in. Hope your rain lets up sooner than the weather man predicted. Thanks for watching🥰
This reminds me of cave point county park in Door county its just as beautiful there. Worth the check out.
I have been there once before but so long ago. I will be checking it out this summer for sure. Thanks for watching😊
Good day on the rocks , to bad it was cold , nice lil waterfall still bigger than mine , quartz pattern on those are pretty cool , thanks

I'm always torn watching your videos, in one had I dream of rockhounding up there so I'm super jealous and on the other hand I feel like I'm there with you through your adventures! Thanks Cherry for both of those! It so beautiful and peaceful up there, what a special place! I can't get over the lake and cool Looking landscape along the beach! Thanks for this, I needed it, struggling to get through my work day today!
It is quite the ride for me to get here. I had a appointment up this way, so I went a little farther to do some rock hunting. It really is a wonderful area to visit. It was peaceful getting to see it before memorial day. Once that is here this park gets packed with people and then things are not so peaceful. I wish and pray yous will be able to visit the U.P. someday🙏 Thank You for the kind words and for watching 😊
@upnorthadventureswithccc thank you Cherry!

It really is amazing to see. Thank You or Watching😊
Another cool place!
It is awesome here ! Thanks for watching😊
thumbs up from Canada !
Thank You🤩
That a cool place! I have seen other videos of people jumping off these rocks!
In the summer on hot days there can be a long line of people taking turns jumping. I would be to chicken, lol 😊
@@upnorthadventureswithccc I would have back in the day. I think all I could do is keep float! No air to swim!
@@quaileggsvermont Mainly there is young people in the line, ones with young lungs !
@@upnorthadventureswithccc Ha yep!
Those black rocks are super cool! Those would make some awesome jewelry. Well, if they were small enough. I wouldn't want a boulder hanging around my neck 😆 Yeah I might be a tad nervous of those trees right at the cliff edge. Good gust of wind might bring those down. I really like those black and white ones. Stinks that it's so cold. The turquoise/blue is pretty too. Sure do love the sound of those waves. A nice peaceful little waterfall. You got some nice finds. Will you be tumbling the black and white ones? I bet they'll be gorgeous all shined up.
I really enjoyed this area to rock hunt. I was freezing but having fun. I was basically all alone because of the cold and wind. The black rocks are going to be tumbled. I am really hoping they shine. They are a different mineral that may not take a good shine. I will be trying though. I did explore other areas while here but it will be another video. I try and keep my videos around 10 minutes long but that can be hard, as you know :) Thanks for watching😊
@@upnorthadventureswithccc Yeah, I prefer our vids to be shorter, but never fails I end up with some that are 20-30+ minutes. I look forward to seeing how the black ones do in your tumbling process.
Yes 36 is way too cold but at least you found something.
36F with the wind was cold but still had fun :) Thanks for watching 😊
I love this place. I would jump. Won’t you?😊
I may be to chicken, lol I have seen many turn around and not be able to do it. From up there it looks scary. Thanks for watching😊
Are the goldish bands iron pirite?
Some of the rocks do have iron pyrite in them. Could very well be in some of these ! Fools gold is pretty :) Thanks much for watching Martin😊
@upnorthadventureswithccc My bride calls me fools gold! I wonder what she means by that?
@@RandolphRelicRecovery Lol Martin 🤣
