Medusa is my favorite character in Greek Mythology. She's one of the most misunderstood and judged characters. She was just an innocent girl with only the best of intentions. She didn't deserve her fate.
Like every day life reflects how stupid humans act as a mob when judging others.

@@faisfaiz4353 Why Zeus? It was Poseidon...
@@AlexanderMarchesaine Because Zeus had the highest authority to punish both Poseidon & Athena. Zeus could have demanded that Poseidon sacrifice one of his oceanic creatures. Zeus could then have remolded the creature by transferring Medusa's soul into dead vessel of Poseidon's creature. Thus transforming her into Mermaid/Humanoid queen of an aquatic colony. As for the soul of the dead creature. Medusa would birth twins from the soul.
Eventually she would mate with various men from the land above. Because she was eager to create a civilizatión. She would remain yourthful & fertile for hundreds of years. Neither Athena or Poseidon were allowed to interfere with her destiny. Because they were restricted by Zeus's mandatory jurisdiction.
@@PazzoScansafatiche Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades could not punish each other. Their powers were as great as each other, they were the three chains that kept pulling on each other so they wouldn't go around and destroy the whole universe. Zeus could not punish Poseidon because it wasn't his place, unless Hades agreed to punish him. Because Hades hated his brothers, he would let them ruin themselves. Besides, this isn't even the original story, it's a rip off from the Romans whom hated Neptune cause they feared the ocean. They also hated Minerva(Athena) because in Greece they loved her but hated Mars(Ares) whom the Roman's loved and adored. So in retaliation that Greece had given Ares a bad reputation, they decided to give Poseidon and Athena a bad one as well.
@@AlexanderMarchesaine hades never hated his brother all the stuff you said isn't accurate or true. Hades was the most chillest god

To be fair, in some versions it wasn’t really intended as a curse, but rather as a gift. More specifically, although Athena couldn’t punish Poseidon, she figured she could at least give Medusa a way to defend herself in the future by turning any other would-be rapists to stone.
This isn’t a gift.. that is nothing but EVIL. She cannot have her family nor friends or loved ones around her because she will turn them into stone.. That isn’t a damn gift at all. That’s a curse .
@@marvelfamily3166 Well that's assuming that she can't control it. Perhaps her power is actually within her control
Athena was jealous because Medusa was Gorgeous.
That is still debatable but the fact that Athena did not do anything to help Medusa who was raped right in front of her statue and that too in the temple shows the real nature of Athena
But Athena later sends Perseus to kill her...
Imagine if someone came to visit Medusa not to claim her head but because they felt remorse for her. Perhaps a blind man who was once a proud warrior until he lost his sight in an accident and was deemed useless afterwards. Medusa would be able to actually interact with this man because of his lack of sight and they would grow a bond. He would visit her frequently and both would later develop feelings for the other because both could relate to each other’s loss.

I knew there was more to Medusa's story. I hate how misunderstood she was.
That's half true... Madusa was actually a AFRICAN goddess. She was the God of BEAUTY and had 3 sisters. She was beautiful, when men seen her, they stopped what they were doing and stared and her ( that's where the metaphor " turn men into stones). She DID get raped by that God ( madusa was a virgin) and that goddess DIDN'T believe her. She called for the other God to come cut madusa's head off ( that's how she died). Then the goddess scandalize her name, character, and drew images of her w red evil looking eyes and snakes in her hair. The ACTUAL description They gave was " hair like snakes"...WHICH WERE ACTUALLY DREADS. MADUSA WAS A BLACK VIRGIN GODDESS W DREADLOCKS AND THE EUROPEANS CHANGED IT TO A WHITE WOMAN W SNAKES. THINK ABOUT IT, BACK IN THOSE DAYS, ONLY BLACK PEOPLE GOT PUNISHED. NOT WHITES. ALL EUROPEANS CHANGED BLACK GODS/DIETIES & CULTURE TO THEIRS LIKE THEY CREATED IT......NOW THATS THE TRUTH!!!!!
Combined Minds yeah, where are the source of this? Even Ovid who vilified the gods didn’t say this much.
I hate how everyone misunderstood Athena's side of the story... Athena really liked Medusa as her priestess but she hasn't had any choice to punish her because she doesn't have the power nor the rank to punish Poseidon instead of her and if she did punish Poseidon, she will start a war between the gods and it will be the downfall of humanity when nature itself will fight each other.

Siva Jnana that's the problem with gods and goddesses, if anything offends them in even the slightest way they will bring a very unjust punishment upon whoever they so choose to which is one of the reasons why I've turned away from religion and religious cultures. I do believe that there is something powerful and of great light out there but I am not going to put a name or even a physical form to such a being because as I've said many times that's what causes big problems amongst mankind because everybody wants to think that their idea of who the Creator or creatrix is and depending on how zealous they are they'll kill you for their beliefs

She didn't want him but he force himself to do that to medusa... this is one reason I don't blame medusa for doing all the bad things she's done! It's not her fault that she's beautiful, it was a gift but because of Athena jealousy and all mans cowardness and stupidness, she become a monster! If I had to choose between Athena and medusa, I would choose medusa and curse on Athena... and one thing, there is no one that perfect, Athena herself is not perfect, she is a hero but she's not perfect and medusa also is not perfect but she's innocent
Poseidon couldn't keep it in his pants. And they say Zeus was a womanizer.
To get one woman down Zeus's son had to get so many help
I wish I can go back in time and slap the crap out of Poseidon is in Athena and then kill both of them because medusa didn’t do anything besides his fault he just couldn’t handle the Packers she didn’t wanna be with him and I don’t blame her for 10 people just got stone inch up in their heads
BeeLuv Bts and KARD
actually in other stories Athena did that so that what happened to her would never happen again
If Athena was jealous, she probably would’ve done something to Medusa long before Poseidon came in.
Medusa has always been my favorite❤. I was sexually abused as a teen and I painted a beautiful medusa in a fit of rage on my wall. The image was so powerful I felt a little at ease having it in my bed room 💚🐍🐍
❤️❤️❤️
heyyy
i love the fact that you found the curage to get yourself together and you helped yourself to achive thag with art .i think that's absolitely huge.
Bullshit. What happened to the rapist then?
@@NOU-iw3gb Why is it so hard to believe for you? Do you know how common rape is?
Loved the story but I’d really love a thorough story about the sentiment with Poseidon
am i just the only one, who's fascinated with greek/roman mythology????😍
No I am too Fatima V Tan, so fascinating huh?
Poor Medusa. Hate Athena now
hello Whoop always
Still love Athena
That comment might come back to haunt you later. Just ask my girl acracne
Ethiopiaset Garvey you spelled Aracne wrong (i prob did the same thing so lol)
I swear lol
I think most of you aren't realizing Athena was watching and hoped Poseidon would have his way with her.
Crimson so Athena was a voyeur...
Ya It was a privilege to have sex with a god according to the Greek Gods ! And for one Greek god to want a human was like winning the lottery! I know to is humans that not right ! But to them they saw nothing wrong with that ! 🤷🏻♂️
Richard Castro rape is still wrong specially if someone doesnt want it, medusa wanted to stay a virgin for athena yet athena did not help her and even envied her then cursed her for being raped... Medusa wanted to fulfill her duties for someone she believed in and is very loyal to, yet athena wanted something bad to happen to her just to curse her... Raping isnt bad if it's the gods? That rape gave her consequences of being cursed and being hunted down plus she didnt want that rape from pseoidon and rejected him multiple times, no wonder devils have pitch forks like him
Alex rape is never an excuse I understand and am not denying that ! However in ancient Greek days especially in these days we’re talking about gods saw it a privilege to be with a god ! Never taking into account the Justice of the human ! I heard many versions of this tale ! One version stated that Medusa purposely temped Poseidon because she knew how beautiful she was and how she could have anyone she wanted remember she was a titan she knew she had usual beauty and wasn’t all human ! Then I heard other version like the one we are talking about now ! Nevertheless this story is sad all the way !
Hi, these videos are perfect for my G6 class. I am wondering if you have any videos that explain the Titan's/Olympian's family tree?
Dressed as her this Halloween...was very interesting to reflect on this story. Wish I could send you a pic of the work I put in to create the look I did to represent her!! Thanks for posting this story
She wasn't villian she was victim in myth. So don't let ur mind down
She was a very beautiful woman priestess οf Athena and like the godess she had a vow of virginity. Many men wanted her, but she declined them all. Poseidon always hostile towards Athena because she got to name the city of Athens and overwelmed from her beauty raped her in the sanctuary and Athena not wanted to fight Poseidon, erupt over the poor woman transforming her. Even after the curse, she couldnt find peace because rumors over the power of her choped head spread out over the ancient Greek world. Warriors seeking power and glory, keep invading her cave/home, trying to kill her. She is the real victim here!
How many times do you have to say that shit again ?, we know.
Aww poor Medusa . hate Poseidon now. Athena reminds me of the queen that was jealous of snow whites beauty...
Yep there are definitely some similarities between the two stories.
true
ROCK GODDESS now you hate posiedan... If u study the true story of every greek heroes & gods u will hate them... Even persius & Hercules had committed rapes & Achilles too
ROCK GODDESS true
Poseidon ain't got a candle compared to Zeus in finding the women
Great tone and visual
Medusa is good not a monster!
Poseidon was the monster!
Some stories say that Athena cursed Medusa for her protection and others say that it was because she was jealous of her and punished the wrong person. Whatever the reason was, Medusa was the one badly effected by it. She was an outcaste and seen as a monster, while Poseiden(don't know how to spell his name) was not punished at all. Sometimes Greek gods can be total jerks (according to their stories and mythologies). The sad thing is, some of the misuse of power and punishing the victims in mythologies happens in real life too.
it;s true
Some stories said Poseidon had sedused her and out of angerband bitterness athena cursed her. Poseidon isnt always an ass.

Just look the webtoon version of Poseidon from Athena Complex
There's probably variation between the Ancient Greek version of the story and the Roman version of the story, naturally causing this confusion

When I read Percy Jackson Greek Gods, I read that Medusa willfully went with Poseidon and when he suggested they do something in private, he suggested Athena’s temple and Medusa reluctantly agreed. Then they got down on the foot of the statue and did something so disgusting that it caused Athena to anger. But I never heard of this side of the story. Thanks for the information📖🇬🇷🍼😁
Bruh how does a snake and a merman produce a horse, damn ancient greeks!
😂🤣😂
One question , why did you use the word bruh??? 😂😂😂
Watching for more videos
the god poseiden was known as the father of horses because when he desired demeter she asked him to create the worlds most beautiful animal to calm down his advances towards her he created the first horse which is how he ties into horses and pegasus
How does a Krab produce a Whale ?
Awesome! Love mythology.
