Candace's response to everyone on Twitter yesterday was an utter embarrassment to all sports analysts. If you've made a wrong, uninformed comment, just admit you were wrong. Stop trying to justify what you said by switching the narrative and making an excuse totally irrelevant to what you said on live air. As a Heat fan who witnessed Brunson torch us during the playoffs last year, I can assure you Brunson is HIM and put the team on his back during that series. And stats don't lie. He played much better against us than the Cavs. Shame on her for saying something so dumb.

I'm not even a Knicks fan, but a huge fan of Brunson's underdog story. When I heard this from Candace's mouth, I was furious. I honestly think she just didn't watch the playoff games last year and took the end result of a 7-game series loss at face value - that Brunson underachieved and didn't deliver a series win as he should've. Then she goes on to say that she's selecting Mitchell over Brunson for the ASG solely based off their team's record when Knicks were literally 1 game back from CLE at the time of those comments. When everyone came after her on X about her comments, she reiterates something completely unrelatable that Becky said about Brunson not being able win being the shortest star on the team. Man, these analysts gotta start watching actual games before they speak on these players. Everyone from her, to Shaq, to SAS. They just blob BS without any substance. As fans of the game, we should all be angry at this honestly especially getting paid $15-30M to do so.

We had the 8th pick and Golden State had the 7th pick and they picked him before we did ; that’s what happened. The dummie literally just saids anything.
At least Becky Hammon may of had an argument when she said the Knicks won't win with him being the 1A due to his height. History has proven this to be true in most cases. It's up to Brunson to prove you wrong. But THIS WAS NOT YOUR ARGUMENT CANDANCE! Your comment was about him not showing up against the Heat. Brunson has singlehandedly gotten me interested in watching the Knicks again. He does scary things which have to be seen on replay to be believed. His wild shots that go in often aren't wild at all; he just has an incredible knowledge of the backboard. Now thanks to Anunoby, his assists have jumped. He is a goddam star.
Narrative went from...Too small for the 1st round -> too small to start -> knicks overpaid -> not an allstar -> not a number 1 -> not an MVP level player. The main reason that Jalen Brunson is being 'dissed' in the media is simply because of his height. We are programmed to equate NBA ability with height.

How I see it is, a #1 option is someone who shows up in the playoffs and wins you a championship. A #2 is someone who can lead their team to the playoffs, but just can't get it done. Maybe instead of taking 20-25 shots, they are more effective taking 15-18 cause they have the #1. And a #3 is a player who puts up great stats on teams that go nowhere. Brunson hasn't shown he can't be a #1.
People that actually watch games know the he’s All NBA this year. (2nd or 3rd team behind Luka, Shai, Fox, and probably Haliburton).
