- In this video we look at some of my summer wildcamping gear, a old Golight Jam Rucksack, at 840 grams pretty lightweight.
A Terra Nova Laser Competition 1 tent which I have modified and now makes a great three season shelter.
Moving with the times a Enlightened Eqipment Revelation Quilt, very warm and comfortable.
Patrick ploughs a lonely furrow with his camping exploits, that’s what makes him so entertaining, long may it last. He’s a real trooper.

Always entertaining and interesting with your snippets of local knowledge, beautiful and challenging locations, and you're a great cook! Love the way you prepare 3 delicious courses in the middle of nowhere with accompaniments - fine dining at its best! The trouble you go to to enhance our viewer experience is greatly appreciated and sets you apart from many others who leave out a lot of what could be very interesting content. One of the areas we went as a family. Many happy memories in Whirlow and many ice-creams enjoyed in the 70s & 80s.
Used to be a nice cafe 20 years ago, that went but a new one has recently open in what was the old toilet, very nice cafe now if you are ever up this way.......thanks Pat

Yes invaluable those cloth pegs, but working on something better, always like modding and improving things, you would think these tent designers would get it right in the first place, keep enjoying your wild camping, best thing in the world…….thanks Pat

Nice camp Pat and you're right, England's green and pleasant land...I lived in Spain for a while on the costa del sol and in the summer it was horrendous heat, like 45c some days and like you say it's barren land. I appreciate and love the green rainy place we call home so much.

Thank you for treating us to steak and chips! You inspire me to bring more real food out on my backcountry trips. The tent modifications look brilliant and seem to be working well. Many of us forget we can make a few changes to gear, even it if was a bit costly, there's always room for personal innovation. You are talented when it comes to sewing. As for the quilt, gotta love EE. They make very nice kit. Sometimes, I just slip a silk sleeping bag liner over my pad if I don't wish to feel the pad surface. It generally works well. Cheers!
Hi the sleeping bag liner over the mat sounds good, will try that, I like making and moving gear and stuff, and I found afterwards I learnt a lot about tent construction……thanks Pat
