    Finally! Someone talking about gaining. I’m having trouble gaining healthy weight for the first time in my 64 years. Lots of stress and giving up sugar made me lose until I was nothing but a skeleton with skin.

    Everyone, plz be aware that KERRYGOLD UNSALTED BUTTER now has SKIM MILK in it. Skim milk is a carb that is high in sugar. I dint know why they added it, possibly to make it more spreadable. But i dont eat sweet carbs: skim milk. The SALTED Kerry gold butter does not have skim milk, so far. Always read ingredients.

    Thank you for saying to increase protein and fat slow and steady. I felt overwhelmed with trying to eat 130 grams of protein.

    I'm a random person that likes random things and schedule as least as possible and measure as least as possible.. when I go to work, I go to work until I acquire a certain dollar amount. I don't work a certain time frame or a certain set number of hours.
    I've never weighed myself on a scale outside of a physical. I've never counted a calorie or any other micro or macronutrients.
    ... I heard Dr Anthony Chaffee talk about upping your fat if you're feeling constipated or lowering your fat if you're having the runs. That's what I'm currently trying to do. I'm not sure if it's optimal. I'm somewhat new to carnivore and I'm enjoying it for the most part! It is interesting learning how to buy leaf fat, beef suet, and talow.
    I can't wait to see more videos of you talking about Jesus and how the Lord heals... Recently been trying to renew my relationship with Jesus and pray more frequently consistently. 😇🙏

    Sounds amazing! I am slowly gaining weight and am still at a 1:2 protein to fat ratio. I have been carnivore for a year now and after having POTS for over 4 years I am currently on a megadose of Benfothiamine and ttfd. It definitely is providing more energy and sleep. I completely agree that food should be our medicine but with such an extreme deficiency sometimes we need more. After 15 months of HCL and enzymes with no results I had to look further.

    Thank you for this information. As someone who needs to put on weight and you mentioned suet. I’d like to know how do you eat this? Do you cook with it or eat it as is?

    I just joined the Steak and Butter community to help put on weight - they suggested I listen to you. This was very helpful except I have no idea how to work out those body stats -lean body weight etc. And how much fat is in something. I keep losing weight slowly on this diet.

    Hi Rebekah,
    your journey is amazing you look so healthy and happy you are glowing 🙂I am so happy for you.
    I am your new sub and after watching your video "Gluconeogensis" either I misunderstood you or not so I figured I simply will ask you under your newest video about this.
    Typically I eat way more fat than proteins (still trying to get to 100 grams) but yesterday I attempted to eath only proteins without adding any additional fat so I chose to grill chicken breast and 2 hours after each meal I measured my glucose and ketones and my keto-mojo kept showing me for glucose 5.1 -5.3 and ketones 0.2 - 0.3 when in fact when I add extra fat (kerrygold butter) my ketones are 1.5 -2.0 or so. Why would my ketones deep down when I cut the fat off ? I ended up giving up on eating only chicken breast and resorted to my lovely rib eye steak at the end of the day, and I felt so much better. Am I correct to assume that because I cut fat intake my body was using my own fat that is why ketones decreasted ? If so would this mean I still lose my own fat when my ketones are NOT greater than 0.5 ?
    I would love to hear from you on this.

      Kerrygold has added SKIM MILK to their UNsalted butter! That is carbohydrate! If you're using Kerrygold SALTED, that supposedly doesn't have skim milk. However I quit using Kerrygold butter completely because I can't be sure what they're doing to it. If you're using UNsalted, the skim milk could be messing with your blood glucose & ketones. Skim milk turns to sugar. Bella Steak and Butter Gal did a video on what they did to UNsalted butter. It's on the ingredient list on the package😞

      @@PhyllisWalls-nr2tl ok, but even with Kerrygold carbs that won't make my carbs above 20 grams for sure since I don't eat anything else but meat and eggs. I saw already Bella girl video about butter some time ago. cheers

      Generally that's the case. Blood ketone meters do not tell the full story (which is why I love using my Lumen!)
      Pay attention to biofeedback! How were your energy levels, sleep, cravings and mood on the protein sparing day?

      @@rebekahheishman-tailoredke8939 I thought I was fine until I doubled protein intake and found out that now finally I have more energy and can do way more during my day.
      I sleep fine and even better now on more proteins.

    Gaining weight has always been a struggle for me, and I'm concerned about the spike in glucose levels when I increase my protein intake. I've been maintaining ketone levels between 2.0 - 5.0 mmol/L after being on ketovore for over 7 months, my body still hasn't adapted to fat, despite consuming plenty of it. I'm still feeling stuck on how to address this challenge - any help would be appreciated. Thank you for this video!

      At some point you have to stop worrying about the ketones and do what you know is right. Even if protein elevates glucose , it doesn't mean that protein is the problem. There is dysfunction at the root that causes protein to be converted to glucose in excess. Healing that root cause actually requires more protein very often!

    Thank you so much🙏. I have some pancreas issue so I cannot tolerate animal fat. I hope I will at some point. Have you never had challenges with fat adaption in the beginnlng?

    But I also learned that so much high of protein will increase blood sugar and harm digestion system. I have been on carnivore for 5 months and this high protein ratio 0.8-1 gram/per pound has put a toll on my digestion/liver/gallbladder/blood sugar starting 4 weeks ago. Now I am afraid of eating so much protein. I would eat 50-60 grams of protein per day to heal my digestion now. I am only 97 lbs and 5ft2in. I am starting to be very cautious about carnivore.

      That's why slowly increasing is key. That protein is essential for insulin sensitivity and healing the spike you are getting from it in the first place. The protein is not the issue. 💖 I was once in the same exact place.

So are you saying it is ok to go with 0.8-1gram of protein per pound even though I am 59 years old and have blood sugar and digestion issues. I kept hearing about the need of priming to begin with and did not know eventually after 4 months of carnivore that I have very bad liver/gallbladder pains and blood sugar getting so high. I am actually disappoint about the reaction and going to drop carnivore diet. So it is ok to take 0.8-1 gram of protein even with blood sugar problem? Per one of the videos by Dr. Cywes, he is against the high protein such as 0.8-1 gram protein per pound since he mentioned the protein would still spike the blood sugar.

    For enzymes, do u find the animals based pancreatic enzymes work best or the fungal/plant based enzymes are more ideal?

    I lose too much weight on carnivore and it's crazy expensive to just 'eat more'... especially if you can't do dairy. Carnivore is good for weight loss.

    I’ve been trying to get as much fat as I can with lamb tallow. I’m still getting loose stools and I’m nowhere near getting 240 grams of fat. I’m going to take your suggestion on the lipase, but not sure how I can get more fat in. Should I eat sticks of butter?

      The longest it stuck was two weeks. Unfortunately it was not enough as the cdiff was seeded in my gut. It's a great option for many.

    So what fat would you recommend having to increase my fat intake? I can’t have dairy/butter. I use quite alot of lard and tallow in my cooking and I use the juices from the meat I cook as a gravy.

      I constantly have a sweet taste in my mouth. Have you come across this? I have a feeling my body is converting protein into glucose and that’s why I’m getting the sweetness in my mouth.
      I quite like it to be honest but if I’m not in ketosis because of it, it’s defeating the object.
      Still dealing with histamine intolerance

      Thinking of seeing if I can get some extra beef and lamb fat from my butchers, do you think that’s a good idea for getting extra fat? I’m having to compete with my dog for leftover fat lol.

      Lamb fat is my favorite. Suet is amazing.

      @@rebekahheishman-tailoredke8939 it’s a hard thing for me to eat fat to be honest, I’ve never eaten it before. I’ve increased it massively but by the sounds of it, still not getting enough. Probably not quite hitting a 1 to 1 ratio.
