@@aaronsejas6442 i have a set that were prototypes and they are the best park and street wheel. you can slide when you want to but grip and keep speed better than any other wheel. i have a pair of spitfire 97a im testing out soon but right now oj 95a nomad wheels are hard enough for tech tricks but keep your speed in rough asphalt.

Thanks for the review man. You keep skating like a beast! I just bought these wheels cause I've been happier with NHS wheels altogether. I've been liking O.J.'s Mini super juice 55mm 78a for proper cruising but my favorite is Slime Balls O.G. Mini 78a and 90a. The 78a will go through everything but the 90a last longer and stronger for tech. Hopefully Ricta has a combo of those two wheel companies since they range the duro.

Dude that path is freakin gnarly 🤣 it’s so chewed up , can’t believe how well those wheels worked ,I know they’re soft but they’re still quite small for going over such rough terrain, gonna have to get some

Really good, concise and detailed review.. Thanks man. I was between these and the OJ minis. I have been skating the Enuff Super Softie 85a for a few years now. They last well and are a perfect middle ground but recently wanted something even softer for longer distance cruising. Rather that pay the extra cash for OJ or Ricta I ended up experimenting with Venom Thunder Cloud 78a 54mm. I have had a similar experience to you. It would be cool if you could do a comparison with. Budget wheel like Venom Thunder Clouds vs Rica Clouds. Since they’re a similar wheel I think it would be a really useful reviews for people on a budget or those wanting to experiment with softer wheels without spending too much initially. Oh and last note.. Love your style on those fs slappies. All the best from Scotland.

I went for Bones ATF on my Zip Zinger for exactly the same reason as you chose the clouds ; the wider cruiser wheels weren’t good for the narrowness of the board, I found. Better for ollies up kerbs too

not bad at all for long distances/hard surfaces and popping comfortable ollies. Since the size is the same as a spitfire classic. They are easier to slide than the ojs probably from the riding surface. Makes them perfect for a 27" thinner cruiser for smaller hangers. Just got some ventures on sale bc i really like how they feel for ollies. Going to put them together with the left over clouds and some 10$ nothing special bearings that claim abec-9 which i can only assume will mean theyre smooth. I had them on an old collector deck but theyre perfect for casually ripping in the park and hitting your ledges/funboxes and hip/pyramids. Mine are the older crystal clouds. The 52's are a bit "sketchy" adds an element of street skating and surf/casual style when using looser trucks. You really have to be on top of your lines and curb cuts as they tend to bounce. Still really fun bomb and ride to the coffee shop or around the beach/town.
Props for the excellent review, it is detailed and informative. I'm into surfskating, currently have a Carver CX, Penny Highline and a Landyachtz Shape 9 with a Waterborne surf & rail adapter. My Shape 9 has 60mm 78a Chubby Hawgs, & I am quite content with it but I'm thinking of getting smaller wheels to lower the center of gravity but still maintain a smooth ride. I'm debating between the Ricta Clouds 54mm 78a, OJ mini super juice 55mm 78a, & CCS Cruiser wheels 54mm 78a. I considered the Ricta & OJ due to reviews, the CCS due to the price point. I just cruise on smooth pavement or concrete to simulate surfing in glassy waves and have no plans of skating in rough terrain or doing tricks. Which wheel should I get based on your experience?

Will try them. Here in Paris, roads are rather bad and there are many imperfections. I use my skateboard mainly for cruising and for transport. So I hope the 78a wheels will be good. I also have the Krooked zip zinger deck. Cheers
Could you try to review the Bones Rough Riders and compared them with the Ricta Clouds and the Oj super Juice 🤔
I have a Mullen super sap yolo with bones G-slides they're a bit wide but 56mm and about 40mm wide try those I love them.
Really good wheels. I thought they were too stick for me though. I went to the 86A's for my local skate park and around town, which is really rough. the 86A were perfect. Speedy and no hang ups in cracks.
hey what king pin did you have in those thunders? I am looking for a good match for my 161's
I gotta try these. The mini juice ojs really do perform well as far as rolling over just about anything, but the shape is horrible in my opinion. These look like a good option
yeah the super juice are actually cruiser wheels, very wide and heavy, meant for cruising and not for tricks.
depends on what you want, I prefer the juice for cruising but most other things do not feel good with them.

I personally use theese same excact wheels in the winters in my local slippery ass inside skatepark. I just cant skate 99a wheels there, becouse I like to turn without instantly slipping out. You can't grind as well as with hard wheels but it's worth it for me.

I just got back into skateboarding again after not skating in 10 years so I'm super Rusty and every time I would hit a rock I'd go flying lol,so I've ordered a pair of Ricta clouds 60mm 78's so hopefully that helps. Can't wait for them to get here!

@@Nukroo yeah they lasted quite awhile I'm using 56mm now but same durometer, if your doing tricks and sliding and stuff they probably wouldn't last very long though as they are a pretty soft wheel

clouds 78a and 87a arent sliding wheels, 92a can slide. but id suggest clouds as cruisers.
i cruise on my spitfire 80hd chargers and do tricks. plus i dont like risers so 54mm is great size for cruising and tricks.
Do you get wheelbite? I read a review on the 54mm saying they got wheelbite at parks, so they went to Ricta clouds 52mm and that fixed it.
@@iosoi3145 no wheelbite, I have tall trucks tensor mag light atg 55mm height. I ride 54mm on all my boards so my pop for all my tricks are the same. Wheelbite has to do with your trucks height and geometry, and how loose you ride them. You could always throw on a set of risers, I do on My slappy boards.
can never go wrong with ricta
edit: also from experience anything below 85a is a cruising only wheel, 85a is hard enough to street skate and a bit of park, but wheels like these 78's is nasty on tricks

I have the 58mm and the works a treat. Like the perfect not soft not hard wheel more than a say all terrain wheel. Work better when you have some speed going to despair the smaller pebbles and stones . But If you carve and turn they will slide out on small stones and shit. I like them in skate parks bowls ramps kind of on everything really. I will definitely get them again for my kind of surfy skating style on my Surf Rodz and Carver C5 trucks. Yes and the slide too, okay not as good as a spitfire F4 or Bones wheel.
Meh just get the Bones ATF wheels and that will go through there with ease
