I’ve been using my skateboard to film with for over 10 years, and I decided to upgrade my wheels to BONES Rough Riders for a smoother ride. This is a great way to get smooth B-Roll footage without having to use a Gimbal or Steadycam stabilizer. It does require skill to know how to skateboard properly. I also flew the Mavic Air while testing the wheels out!

If you skateboard, these BONES Rough Rider wheels are a must!! Seriously these are the perfect in between wheels for cruising to the Beer store without having to look whack on a long board. I highly recommend them. They can help you get some smooth "cinematic" shots too 😉
frogy can you help me im buying some for my birthday do you know what the size is
Flaming skulls 666 yeah these are 56mm!
FrogyProd thank yoy
i mean you
keep up the good vids
5:37
Frog: omg they are soooo quiet
The ground: grrrrqqqqqqkkkkkkffdbjfesxbj
pretttyyyyyy much 😅 but the rough riders are so much quieter than normal wheels
Lol
Wtaf why doesn't this have millions of likes its so high quality
thank you appreciate it! 🙌
@@FrogyProd truth, loved the quality. You deserve much more.
It's the opposite on what eye see, the more retarded and crap the content the more VIEWS😉
small target audience
I have the Rough Riders on a couple setups. I love them!! They are good on rough pavement and super fun to go fast at the skateparks. Forgiving and fat guy approved!
I love them that's for sure!
monster Maes
I love that last part because I am also a chunker
are they still good for park tho?
Savvas Stergos yes but they r not as fast, they r made for streets, normal wheels would be better, but yes u can use them for skate parks. i use for both.
TTV_RD3 they are kinda squishy on kick turns- if that’s a real term. For me, but I weight 265ish. So may not be a problem or you.
I hope you’re getting paid well. Cause you just sold me these wheels bro 😂
Ahaha ayyy not getting paid shit unless you order through my Amazon link but thanks homie!!! 🙏 They're really good wheels never come off my board
Same😂
Me too man. Just got 58mm's at Nor-Cal in P-town. Same color.
Have fun with chips
Thanks. You convinced me to buy both the wheels (in red, 56 mm) and the shake junt bearings😄. What a difference to the previous 49 mm left of my Bones STFs 99A. Shitty roads smooth🤟
“Covid go back” that’s what I heard the whole song
Ahahah that's very fitting with the times. GTFO of here covid!!!
FrogyProd fax 😭
Lmao
lmao
😂😂😂
Most roads in Ireland look like they've been bombed
Need some rough riders so you can bomb them too 😎see what i did there?
😬😳
Try round house wheels you will bomb them roads with no sound and the go over everything.
Arent they?
Hahahahha in England to😂😂😂like I end up carrying my skateboard every where
Just put these on my dark star board after 13 years of running stock bearings & wheels. Man am I happy to have gotten these, no more falling over cracks
I'm so happy to hear that for you! Welcome to the world of smoother ground :)
Me: * slowly earthquakes my way with my rock hard 101A wheels across the street *
trust me i know the feeling. Especially 1am when everyones sleeping and you're in a very echo-y location
Ikr
If you get hard wheels, they need to be above 56mm, from a good brand, and long spinning bearings so your wheels wont slow down from those nanoseconds of weightlessness from bumps in the ground. Most guys in 52s seem slow as when they ride, except this one freak of nature at the park who does impossibles ar high speed on true bearing condoms.
Hope that wasnt too long
FrogyProd dude don’t even get me started 😂
Dude. Try some soft wheels just for the hell of it for cruising. It is a vast improvement for rough asphalt. I was riding 101A Mini Logos, and then 103A Bones STF. Then, I switched to 90A Mini Logos. What a difference. I don't know about 80A yet. I have some Mini Logo AWOL 55mm on order. I am hoping they are better still than the 90As that I'm currently riding. Don't expect to be doing power slides, but, aside from that, it is rad having such a smooth ride and being able to rider over cracks easier. Of could you want to up your wheel size also.
I just bought some today😃 I can finally skate around my neighborhood my street is so shitty
ahaha skate around the neighbourhood without waking up the neighbourhood 😂
Yes Yes me two
Sees powerline: Time to fly the drone
Maaaan I just love this vid. The weather and atmosphere looked beautiful! Uninterrupted skating down that open road and the song choice was dope. Thanks for sharing that.
Glad you like it!
@@FrogyProd Awesome laid back vibes with the whole thing...and I love the sun! Envy you your roads without a shedload of traffic on them as well lol
These wheels look perfect for wat I’m looking for! An in between balance of a nice smooth ride with the same feel for street skating! Thanks for the vid man!
No problem glad the vid helped!
You might want to checkout Mini Logo A-Cut 90A wheels as well. I think they would probably work better for flip tricks, etc. More of a standard wheel shape. I think they are about 30mm wide, versus 40mm for these. Mini Logo has 95A as well. I've used the 90As and it was a dramatic improvement for riding on asphalt compared to the 103A Bones STFs that I was riding previously. Not good for slides though.
7:32 that flick up was so satisfying
This guys energy is unmatched such good vibes lmao
Ayyyy thanks mang!!!!
Nice vid! The everlasting dilemma between comfortable soft wheels and fun hard wheels. I guess in the end it's the best not to try to find the best of both worlds. But just have one board for comfort and one for fun/reverts etc. This wheels do look nice and light enough to comfortably ollie and kickflip on though. So that's a big upside against my current commuter (85mm Seismic Speedvent 75A wheels)
this is so high quality and i definitely want to look in purchasing these wheels !!
The drone shots are amazing dude
thank you! 🙌
Everyone else: I NEED BETTER BARRINGS AHHHH
Me: I got unused fidget spinners.
That's true
abec 5 at socal skateshop for 10 bucks.
Most people don't understand that the difference between bearing are not that far apart between the worst and the best and itd be far smarter to get the best wheels can cause some level of soft to hard wheels serves for a myriad of different terrains and concrete surfaces
Why do you own 8 fidget spinners bro?
@@dud9895 you only need 2
Thank you!!!
I've been looking for this for a million years now!!!!
Man drone footage is so dope... and I remember the first time I put soft wheels on a board and went cruising down the street, instant big smile lol
Such a joy 😁 Concrete surfing
This video has so much sick stuff dude from tips cinematography skate music... everything mixed together..... sick dude!
Thank you I appreciate it🙏 I try to make them very intricate
hands down one of the BEST skateboarding videos i have seen lately. Bravo. **bows deeply**
James Howlett 🙏🙏🙏
Song is called GALIMATAS : BLOWBACK
Love that song
Dope vibe bro 👌🔥 keep it up
Thanks so much Bull Bruh!
Nice video!!! And thank you I’m gonna buy this!
Glad it helped!
I've been looking for these wheels for months!!! Thanks for the cool video
glad you liked it!
Great Video! Really enjoyed it, especially with those sick drone shots! Whaaaat! Dodging power lines!
Thanks ahah yeah the power lines were def an obstacle
Nive review dude thanks
🙏
Those drone shots were legit amazing
Thank you appreciate it!! 🙌
Thanks Frogy, Ive been looking for some good wheels for my trash neighborhood street, this really helped! :D
Thanks bro you helped me to choose the right wheels as an ATF wheels for all terrain
I came here for the board, but man nice video!
Man that was a looong commercial
The editing in this is insane. Well done.
Great video! Might have to pick these up. I saw that Bones is coming out with a new v6 wide wheel which looks pretty cool.
Nice! I love these wheels. Haven't heard of the new ones yet but maybe I will check them out
They are literally center-set free-ride wheels, also look at Powel-Petra Gslides. But to be honest, Gslides make great cruising wheels because how much speed they keep on a skateboard
The timing got this is great! I was just wondering which wheels to get. The rest of my parts are coming in today
Niceeee if you're cruising def go for these or Ricta Clouds (friend in this comment section mentioned them) But if you're trying to do tricks and all that go for a harder wheel like in my video from last year
If your nuts won't go on any more, you need a file to repair the axle thread start. I add washers (1 per side usually) on the axles inner sides of the wheels until the nuts are almost flat to the axle. This way the nuts wear down quicker, but the thread starts are protected.
Since they're indipendent trucks I'm thinking I can just send them into their lifetime warranty to fix. I ended up getting another pair but still have these
really well put together man! Keep em going
Thanks big homie!
Awesome to see that you know how to Ollie
Of course! It's the main reason I skate a normal board and not a longboard

And ?
Just noticed

Pro
I hate switching wheels & bearings for that exact reason. always problems. Such rad skating footage with the drone at the end!
Yeah honestly my plan was to just switch between wheels but since having these I've been using them 100% of the time 😅 So hard to switch back when I'm jsut cruising. And thank you man 🙏
Perfect homie thanks! Getting a pair now
Bro great video! This is perfect since my short commute to work has lots of cracks and potholes. Gonna grab the wheels and bearings! Combo as smooth as butter. Edit: Your shots with the drone were epic!
Thank you! You're commute will become a breeze with these! Let me know how you like them when you get em!
sick vid
thanks 👊
Your video sold me on these wheels man. Thank you for the review. Peace and love from Vaughan ON
You must be in the Downsview area!
Thank you! Like you said these were out of stock everywhere lol, but I did pick up some 59mm 80a's from mini-logo. You've earned a sub, I'll definitely pick stuff up through your links if I have an opportunity in the future!
Thank you sir! Hope you enjoy the wheels
How are the Mini Logos holding up. I just ordered some 55mms from Skate Warehouse. Should get them in about a week.
Wait this is good for shit ground? NICEEE FINALLY SOME GOOD WHEELS !😃😃
Trust me they're amazing! Hard to go back to normal wheels
@@FrogyProd I ordered them and I cant wait because I can finally cruise smoothly without running over pebbles and cracks without flying off my board!
ahah I feel you on that one! Hope you love the wheels, I haven't switched back to normal wheels since
@@prodJaJa How did they go?
@@prodJaJa I know it’s been 2 years since you posted that comment but would you recommend them? Also are they good for tricks or nah?
Are you using risers? I'm new into skateboarding I was thinking about getting one of these wheels set but I'm worried, did you get wheelbite?
1/4" risers on these. they are 59mm and 80a hardness or get the Juice 55mm 78a hardness and no need for risers - just as supple
this video is sick! love it
🙌
Brilliant ! Love the drone footage too.,,,,,,All the best from england.
Round house is the softest wheel and the go over everything rocks, sticks and gashed roads with asphalt missing.
Where can I get those wheels from?
I'm in love with the song
I was literally about to comment saying this was a very well made video. Nice review, cool footage, all very HD… and then my mans pulls out the drone 😨😨 made that shit even better!
Ahhhh love this comment! Respects my G 👊
Finally someone mentioned the streets of Toronto lol thank you
It's not just a video, it's an amazing experience... music, shots.. everything. Estou bobo aqui.
About curves, with this wheels size you gonna need pads, right?
I don't use a pad with these, but it may depend on how loose you skate your trucks. I haven't had any problems with them so far
6:12 thats a really good smooth street in wales lol
Ahhh the UK is a whole different beast when it comes to "shitty streets" 😝
Wow these wheels are what i was waiting for... Your video is awesome and like the other guy said... I hope they pay u well . Good job
Well I haven't been paid anything for this video 😅 Just doing it for the community!
Wow! such a good video. Dont interesting in this wheels (ride on longboard) but i watch it till the end! Nice!
Thank you much appreciated! 🙏
He ain’t the only thing that ate shit
Them shoes did too 😂
I've gotten some new ones since then 😅
Sounds like the song playing is saying "Go back, COVID."
Looks like you had a nice chill beautiful day! Yeah i'm gonna roll soft wheels for sure now.
Always a nice day when you're cruisin with soft wheels ;)
Woo I love these drone shots :). I had the same problem with the truck nuts. I had to replace the entire truck, because the truck pen was too destroyed to put a new nut on. It depends on the truck pen :D. Great work!
Yup same situation here. I've had the trucks for 5 years though so I guess they did their job. I just hate breaking in new trucks
You can replace kingpins with a Grade 8 bolt.
If you put the nut in upside down that should re thread it
I'll try that. I ended up getting new trucks cause those were about 5 years old
5 years old?! Holy cow those trucks must be very strong, my trucks normally last me 1 year.
I’ve had them for about a month and already my wheels are falling apart. They begin to develop small cracks along the surface of the wheel which results in large chunks breaking off. I mainly use them to cruise or take to the pump track which does not require much abuse. I’m currently looking for a different brand. Do not recommend
That's really odd. I would contact bones about that because I've been using mine almost daily since September and they are still in perfect condition
Sounds like he got a very rare defect and Bones will warranty them, house contact Bones !
@@auntjenifer7774 ive heard of way too many "rare defects"
OJ's or OG Slimeballs are superior.
Awesome drone shots.
Big wheels and some new bearings are a complete game changer
This guy knows!!!
Congratulations! You figured out that there are different durometers and types of wheels for different situations. Especially for cruising down rough streets. 101a wheels are really only good for certain surfaces. I.E. very smooth concrete.
Took me long enough to figure out! These wheels barely come off my board now, but I also don't practice many tricks because of them
How come he had a gang whistle in his intro
Impressive drone footage!!
Bought 2 boards and 2 sets of these wheels for me and my partner. They're awesome and super smooth, thanks for the vid :p
Ayyyy glad they're working out! I got a fresh pair of white ones for myself. These green ones are still going strong 4 years later, but they look so gross like someone puked all over them. Wanna change em out for white ones 😁
If you think Toronto streets are bad come to Scotland
I can just imagine all the castle game of thrones type ground 😂
William Doyle mate, unfortunately down south isn't looking good either
Please... *cough* Philippines got the shitiest road
how bout nyc
Romania doesn't have roads
I bought my son these wheels. They are fast as fuuuuuuuck. I ride OJs but i might switch.
hi there, i ride OJ III hot juices and they are HELLA fast, if you are considering to switch, that means a lot. They have to be absolute dynamite.
@Sea Bass 80a
Damn sir!!! What a nice super video. Good job
Thanks man!
Great video! Thinking of buying them now
Thanks yo! 🙏
Question to all viewers.
I look at amazon reviews of this wheel, and every user added picture is of the wheel with chunks missing. They say after 2-3 weeks (or even 10 minutes) the wheels start to break if you do ANY ollies, shuv its, ect.
Would anyone know of a wheel that is soft, and quiet like this wheel, but does not fall apart and can handle ollies and such?
KaskadeHD oj wheels
I've been skating them non stop since September and no problems yet. no chunks missing or anything
KaskadeHD Hawgs 78a.
Ricta clouds.. The red ones
Rainskates tsunamis
Can you do tricks with them
uchiha clan you can... but it’s not that fun since they don’t slide. You can’t do little shuv it’s, you gotta do pop shuv it’s instead. And every truck requires a bit more force and hurts more when it hits your shins
Love mine, makes my board such a cruiser
This dude looks like white drake😂
ahah wow never heard that one before
I like the video, I used to skate. I am thinking about getting back to it! You are an inspiration!
Kevin Kiesel thanks man! Trust me these wheels will keep you skateboarding. They’re really hard to do tricks on so I don’t do any, but just cruising around is wonderful on them. They make me feel like a “mature” skater
I just did. I'm 27. Do it. You only live once
@@uchihaclan6894 Haha, same 27 and enthusiastically skateboarding ;)
Don’t skate but as always here for the footage and commentary! Awesome vid!❤️
Always love the support! 🙏
When you gon start?
Love the editing
Thank you, appreciate it! 🙏
Amazing video thanks
dope stuff mang
tanks mang
Love your video man
Nice shots
Nice sun view
Good whiles
Thanks 🙌🙌🙌
Honestly came to watch this because I remembered how amazing the editing is.
Ayyyy I appreciate that comment very much! 😊
crazy drone shots damn
Appreciate it!!!
Great vid man
thank you!!
I just got the exact same ones! but mine are .59mm. feels great to be cruising for the first time. still gotta get used to going so fast lol
Nice Im happy for you! They are soooo nice and fast and smooth. Mine are 2.5 years old now so they don't feel as nice as a brand new pair but they're still hella good
Okay I need this
Can't wait to get back into skateboarding i used to skate through out junior high and high school but street cruising was always a pain since i had shit streets thats always cracked or the road material makes it hard to skate so i used to go to a skate park or the indoors skate rinks but in my senior year the indoors were shutting down and the skate park i used to go got torned down so then i just stopped skating but i want to simply just cruise around but by the look of these wheels i probably can
ah that's shitty man but yeah def if you invested into these wheels you might have a better time skating around your area. I love em i almost never take em off my board unless i hit the skatepark
Love those wheels
Nice chill attitude man 👍🏼
Bro the shots here are crazy 🔥🔥🔥🔥subscribed
Thanks Homie!!
i just saw this video in recommended, dude the way you edit those videos its just fucking great, how you dont have atleast 200k subs
Maybe one day!
They are badass wheels haven't tried others but there not a specific cruiser wheel so they are in a class of there own they roll great wonder if rictas are better , I did notice the rebound , I wish I got a bigger size I got 56s I got it on a cruiser / skateboard more like old school board 👍
OJ's and OG Slimeballs are the best.
Cool mahn!! Because of you I bought board with soft wheels thanks🖤
Amazing! Hope they work well for you
@@FrogyProd yeah it works well👍🏻
I just got these and I love riding them, im a beginner and I did notice coming up from 52mm i feel a lot less comfortable trying to do anything other than flat cruising should I switch out to my 52mm for learning tricks or would it be helpful to just get more comfortable with the new wheels
Def switch to the other wheels when you wanna practice tricks. I don't do tricks in these cause it's just not as fun, and a little too bouncy when you land. I use these to get to the skatepark/skatespot and then switch to normal wheels
Even though this video is old now it made me go get some I just started skateboarding again after 25 years
Welcome back! I just got a fresh pair of these wheels recently, might just make another video
