- I have never tried to bait any police officer anywhere in the world just to get it on video for the views, I always respect them and I always smile but this Oregon State Trooper (Trooper Donald Rummer) based in the city of Albany was definitely the most arrogant, defensive and ignorant police officer I have ever encountered.
I was doing the speed limit, obeying all traffic laws and I was just traveling through the city of Albany in Oregon on my way to Vancouver, BC in Canada but this police officer seems to be absolutely clueless about federal and international driving laws.
The car did have plates, Dubai plates, this is where I reside and the car was just temporary shipped to the US for a short vacation. Just like a Canadian driver with a Canadian license plate in the US. Plain and simple. I'm pretty sure if I said the wrong thing, the officer would have just arrested me on general principle!

For everyone asking, the car DID have plates, Dubai plates, this is where I reside! Please read the description. I’m not sure why Trooper Rummer considered Dubai plates as no plates but I clearly mentioned this to him in the video as well. I hope this clears any confusion for some people that keep saying I did not have plates.

@Richard DeCoste Exactly, I don't see Canadian plates every day, but it's not all that rare to see them in the US. Likewise, you can take your vehicle and drive into Mexico or Canada, what's the difference?

Not everyone wants to drive a minivan from Enterprise. Hell, for what they charge to rent a car for a month, shipping the lambo would be a better deal.

The cop was far out of his depth in this situation. He's familiar with state law, but he isn't familiar with federal laws in regards to this temporary vehicle import process. You could tell the guy was massively confused but was too pissed off and his ego was too big to admit he had no idea.
He could have used it as a learning opportunity to know in the future how the process works by inspecting the documents and listening to the driver but his ego got in the way.
It only cost $1500-5000 to ship a car overseas.

About 15 years ago I bought a car off ebay, and flew to New York to pick it up, and drive it back to Iowa. Before ever seeing the car I got it insured, registered, and had plates. I flew out, put the plates on, and started driving. 15 minutes in and I got pulled over by a NY Sherif's Deputy for "looking suspicious". He asked why I'd drive to NY in 25 year-old car. Didn't like my answer of, "I didn't, I just got this car 30 minutes ago." He accused me of lying, as it had Iowa plates. Then said I was lying about registering it without having it inspected (Iowa still doesn't do that). Then he tried to cite me for an expired NY emissions sticker, and I told him it doesn't apply, as this is not a NY registered car. 30 minutes of standing on the side of the road while he yelled and failed to figure out what the fine me for. Eventually just let me go.

I can understand the cops problem, the idea of just flying a car from Dubai just for a holiday must have blown his mind. He has probably never even left the state. I have a friend who comes from New York and she put it in perspective when she said people from New York think National News is about New York, International news is about the rest of America. Love this! I drove my truck from Florida to Argentina. I got stopped in just about every country, and Nicaragua was the best, lol. I had to explain to them why I had a Florida license plate, I was only in their country temporarily and not subject to their laws for window tint, bull bar front bumper, LED lights etc. They sure tried to bribe me but I never paid anything. Peru was the funniest. They stopped me because I had my headlights on during the daytime. So much to learn about "Temporary Import Permits" by the local police.

I can drive my car registered in The UK, around the world if I want, as long as I have a Carnet, which is a temporary import document for each country. I used to drive trucks all over Europe. Stopped many times. Never once was I asked for registration documents.
