Never can watch Juan and Jenny without a chuckle here and there. What a great adventure ride. Not only entertaining but educational as well. I'm very appreciative.
Educatione - Epulum - Absurdum
... now write it out a thousand times!
Stuff exactly like this kept me alive and going these last three years. All the people on this channel are friends I’ve never met. N.E.OH Bob
Hope you’re well Bob! Jeff in Portage Lakes…
@@bigjeff1291 I’m doing fine Jeff. Just at the point in life that my spirit wants to get up and go, but my get up has got up and went! Don’t worry about me !
Bob in Cuyahoga Falls.
I hear you Bob Stround. There’s still beauty and nature to be found at slower paces in our own neighborhoods too. A stroll, a mellow wander or good place to sit and look at the birds.
Jenny Morgan is so cool and funny! Excellent laydown of the lightweight gear Juan and Jenny! Also, I am not surprised about the elevated prices on the hotels. Just me but, looks like your accommodations are awesome out there on that plain! Wish I was there.
Cheers!
luv JM. she is so articulate and informative.... your lucky Juan to be able to ride with JM, she truly is a gem..
Gonna be a Dental Floss tycoon! You crack me up Juan.
Zappa ROCKS!
As someone who grew up in NE Montana it makes me sad out of staters are buying up land and denying access to public land. Thanks for sharing and cheers.
Thanks for helping us promote that Montana is full, Juan! I live in Whitefish MT and prices on everything is so out of control. Your adventure has been wonderful to follow. My wife and I watch a series called the Back roads of Montana every week. Yours has been just as good!
I've got family up in Eureka. It's absolutely gorgeous up there! I wish I could spend more time there but yeah, the money doesn't go as far as it used to
What a nice chill show'n'tell of the campsite. Thanks for sharing.
Looks like such a great trip! Jenny is a gem, what an awesome traveling companion! Thanks for taking us along. I miss those mountains very much.
Id stay there before any motel ever....
Always make sure you are far away from your food whenever you sleep!!! Bears usually only invade for food...thanks Jenny and Juan
Sounds like you 2 are having a wonderful trip with beautiful landscapes and historical sights to see! Enjoy sir! We only get to go on this merry-go-round once so enjoy the ride!
"I might be movin' to Montana soon
Just to raise me up a crop of dental floss."....excellent reference to one of the greats....Frank Zappa.
Juan is a Zappa fan. Yet another reason why I like this channel.
Nice to see dueling priorities working to accomplish shared objectives. Thanks for sharing.
Me and the pigmy pony over by the dental.floss.....bush.
Roger from England - Cheers Juan.
Great display of roughing and biking how-to.
Fantastic adventure! Love the minimalist approach and equipment carried on the back of your bikes. Beautiful country! Be safe you two!
Blanco the Tycoon. Great rundown of your lightweight gear.
Motorcycles-Yes
Camping-No
But, it’s fun watching you enjoy yourself! Thanks for taking us along. Go Juan 👍
There are plenty of local accommodation options in most places in Montana, however, as Juan points out - a lot of them were either sold out (especially at weekends in the honey-pot tourist areas) or very expensive compared to many other parts of the USA.
I'm with you Duchess.
Great to have a travel companion with whom you can banter and badger and they still carry on. Thanks for sharing your "go light, go far, go fast" trip across the vast West.
A nice reference to Frank Zappa's "Moving to Montana" song at the beginning. I won a Karaoke contest in an airport restaurant bar by singing that song.
The scenery is stunningly beautiful.
Great way to travel, the lightweight stool is worth the extra tiny space and weight
Love this ! Y'all look like good friends -- all the best to you both !
The landscape is gorgous, like something from a commercial.
Wow. That view truly is priceless. But still very nice to be able to enjoy it on the relatively cheap. Great stuff. Enjoy the rest of your trip, you two. :)
I'm enjoying another Stay-Cation. Nice to see there are folks who can still do some real travel vacations.
The back pack food bag is a great idea, thanks Jenny.
got to love these two. And the places they pick. I learn a lot with Jenny and Juan, great tips.
This video landscape and light is breath taking.
A nice talk of real world camping in Montana! Thanks Juan, Jenny.
Enjoy following along on both of your ride on this adventure! Great content Juan!
Thanks for taking us along.
You’re doing everything right, Juan. Thanks for the update and keep the rubber down!
Looks like one hell of a lot of fun. What a beautiful view from your campsite. Beats any 5 star luxury hotel hands down!
Nice set up Juan! You and Jenny found a great campsite and seem to have all the gear needed. That view beats a roadside motel any day of the week and especially the price. Thanks for sharing your ride with us! Be safe out there!
Drove from San Diego to Las Vegas and back on a street bike. It hurt like hell. You two are real troopers.
Thanks for sharing this amazing journey and equipment with us. Jenny Morgan adds so much to this.
I get your Frank Zappa quotes lol , put a smile on my face .
Simply awesome. You guys are having too much fun. Would take that view any time of day or night over what I have seen from a Motel 6. Jenny is a card of a traveling partner for sure.
Juan when you get home can you post a map of the route your traveled.
lol "Movin to Montana soooon." ;) # 1 thing I wish I had on my camping trip was a stool. After sitting all day on the bike its the one luxury you should afford your self.
Jenny is a riot! You guys both crack me up! AMAZING view there!! Sad to hear of all the "access denied" land being bought up out that way. About how it went here in MA in the late 80's through the 90's. The tent I have is WAY too big for this kind of travel. I used to strap it to the back of my '94 CBR600F2 out in AZ back in the day - it would stick out a foot wide off each side of the passenger seat. Took up A LOT of real estate. Wouldn't work too good off the highway - would catch things and cause me to crash, no doubt! I need to upgrade some stuff if I want to attempt this kind of ride, no doubt about it! Thanks for sharing as always!
Thank you for bringing me along on this adventure with the great videos. 👍 You both are #UMMazing!
Thanks for the heads up on lodging, planning on going to Sturgis next month and will definitely need the tips on what camping gear to load on the hawg, thanks you two and keep the rubber side down 🇺🇸🌄🌲
Way to go guys..enjoy and thanks for the video 👍
I've done a few of these, the longest being 6,500 miles through Nova Scotia, don't forget that a KOA offers a shower and can be budget friendly to tents v/s hotels that are full & unreasonably priced. I usually hit a KOA about every three days, unless I'm near a few lakes, LOL . Great Story Juan!!
When you hit Ketchum, have a nice huge meal at the Pioneer Saloon. Spent a few years teaching snowboarding and skiing there, also worked at the Pio. Should be good if you can catch it.
Beautiful campsite. Jenny is a hoot!
The two edged sword that is Jenny Morgan. What a legend. Video wouldn’t be the same without her Juan! You mentioned a trail at one point…panned around to virgin landscape. Stars must be ablaze in the dark night sky there. Planets are aligned on show here in NZ And a rare event to behold. Enjoy
Serious fun ! Thanks for the tag a long. 😎
Wow. The best camping video ever!
What fun y'all are having! Ride on!
Good morning Juan and Jenny Morgan from Sydney Australia.
Thankyou for the look and description of the "latest compact light camping equipment" very impressive the bellow bag pump for the airbed.
Controversial issues there, is public lands (Crown land) excluded from public "Queens people" via leasehold, licence or some local by-law.
Then there's the issue of foreign ownership.
💰🇦🇺
Wish I was with you guys dang it, lovin the quality vids....!!
My 80 year old father recently visited us here in North Idaho. On his drive from MN he tried to find a room in or near Bozeman. He ended up with a $225 room, even with a senior veteran discount. His room in White Sulfur Springs last night was just over a hundred bucks. And he got to soak his bad knee in the springs.
He and my late mother spent many miles and smiles touring the country on a few different Honda Gold Wings. So many nights spent sleeping on the ground, but so many great experiences, too. I will share this video with him, when he gets home from this road trip. (He is in a Subaru this time, his Suzuki Burgman is awaiting the healing of two failed knee replacements).
#318👍👏👏🎉You are having a great road trip and I love her accent!!💖Thanks Jaun!!
Some amazing country Juan. Estamos celoso ride safe!
Absolutely classic Zappa lyrics! Dental floss in Montana. 😁 Well done.
👍👍👍👍👍 AWESOME TRIP 👌🤭 THANKS FOR THE REPORT!!! SAFE TRAVELS 😍😍😍😍😍🙏
Great little piece. Thank you.
Very good camp tour. Room with a view. You're far better off out there than a Motel Sick - I mean Six anyway... The last Motel 6 I stayed at came alive at night after I turned out the lights and all these weird bugs appeared seemingly out of the woodwork and were crawling all over the walls. Even my cats were a bit shaken - yeeesh!
You got me going. Road story - -
So I was hitchhiking in the middle of nowhere in Utah headed west back to SJ. There was this massive (no joke!) storm blowing across the desert headed right for me. An ominously black wall of clouds filled the sky. I was doomed. Right before the storm hit, this fellow passed me on a Yamaha 650. He had a huge duffle bag strapped to a sissy bar on the bike and California plates. I had a full pack and a guitar. He stopped about 1/2 mile down the highway. The storm was blowing in. I held my breath! He turned around and came back and stopped. He had a bunch of bungee cords - maybe we could figure something out. Somehow he finagled my full pack, guitar and his duffle bag and we just barely outran that storm clear across the desert by the skin of our teeth! He was a perfect gentleman, no worries. He brought me all the way home to SJ.
I hadn't been home in several months - will never forget how beautiful the Bay Bridge looked at 1 AM riding in to San Francisco, all the lights ~
Thanks for sharing. Stay safe. Smooth sailing to you.
Wow, thanks for the story, that’s incredible.
Hi Juan,
I have enjoyed your trip, and maybe covid has made the prices of lodging higher, but Montana has never has any reasonably priced rooms that I could find!
In 2001 on a vehicle rescue mission to Great Falls, we stopped at numerous motels in Spokane all the way to Missoula and the least expensive room was $135. We slept in the cab of the truck! The prices in Great Falls were much less, and probably because it is not on I-90.
That is not the only time we have had that experience in Montana. On another trip, we stopped in Missoula and Hamilton and eventually went on to Salmon Idaho to a nice place that was $55 per night and allowed pets. Since then I plan to sleep in the back of my truck. I can't allow myself to be extorted by chain motels just because they have a monopoly on the trade.
Real nice Juan.
Have you given the story of Jenny & your relationship? I've seen her over the years as your partner on these expo rides but I don't recall her background...
Like you, Juan, Jenny Morgan has lived an amazing life and is world class professional in several fields. It’s so cool that you two can pair up for trips like this. Watching these videos has been extremely enjoyable.
Who is Jenny Morgan ….? Or is it Jim Morgan …🤔
Motel v. personalised tent….no contest by the looks of it!
You two are priceless! 🇳🇿🇳🇿🐑🐑NZ
See you here!!👍
1,000,000 star rating, indeed! Beautiful spot. My shoulders and back do appreciated a thick air mattress, not those thin "self-inflatable" pads. I saw a video about the "quilt" versus mummy bag setup Jenny is using and it makes a lot of sense.
Yes, a nice thick blow up mattress is far kinder to aching and aging bones than the older self-inflating kind...
Jenny could easily do stand-up!
Moving to Montana soon to become a dental floss tycoon... Good one Juan.. I like Frank Zappa too LOL
Thanks again. Keep on Treking on.
Your moto videos are super cool 😎
This looks awesome!!!!
By quoting Frank Zappa today, your stock has gone way up! Keep an eye on your Pygmy Pony Amigo!
“Gonna be a dental floss tycoon “
Gonna be a mennil-toss flykune!
I agree with Jenny those bigger sleeping bags are more comfortable. I can't do mummy bags anymore. Jetboil is a great little stove too. Prices are definitely up. My mom and I are planning a trip to Duluth and yikes the motel prices. Unfortunately she doesn't tent camp.
I did some hiking in my teen years. First trip I had a crappy old military mummy sleeping bag. Froze my butt badly. After that I invested in a wonderful Jansport backpack. Made some Frostline kits sleeping bag and tent. Had decent trips in summers following. Did some boy scout camping with my son about 15 years ago now. There is some wonderful equipment these days.
I am still using a Frostline sleeping bag that has to be over 40 years old. Never been cold even camping in zero F weather. My granddaughter showed me her stove for camping. Looked like Jenny Morgan’s stove and cup. A lot lighter than my one burner Coleman stoves.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and pointers, and videos. It's intetesting to listen to the two of you. Be safe and look forward to watching your next video. Boiled testicles, hmmmm, had then fried but boiled I'll keep in mind. The things i learn from you two.
Hahaha! Who knew Brownie was a Zappa fan!! #NOTonMyBINGOcard
Jaun sings Frank Zappa. Too good.
Great point from Jenny re small town food. In Australia I find the country town “food on the road” is all the same and more often than not disappointing and unhealthy.
Great video. I grew up in Arco
Jaun you need to get a 2 wheel drive Ural motorcycle. You can go anywhere in one and you can load up the sidecar with some really heavy-duty camp gear and supplies. It has racks for gas, and water cans, plus it has a spare tire. 🤠
I can picture the Ural cycle. It must be super heavy duty!
Wow, this trip looks fun and adventurous. Being a bit of a wimp with bourgeois tastes, I don't think could participate in this type of journey. Have a safe trip back to CA.
Brings back good old times, my 250cc, my girl and me crossing the alps towards the French Riviera. I had to skip more than half of what my lady wanted to take along😅
No surprise there, eh Paul? Most women aren’t in the “minimalistic” mindset!
"raisin' it up,,,, waxin' it down." "In a little white box that I can........sell uptown."
What a great partner for rides. She is a hoot.
Last summer I slept behind the Walmart in Butte MT. Right behind the recycling bins. Yes Montana is super expensive
For Bicycles we can get "Gell Filled" inner Tubes, that virtually eliminate punctures, they must be available for M'Cycles.. For Camping I always take "Space Blankets" great for Insulation etc & other uses.. I once slept in 3ft snow in the Alps..
Stunnnnniiiiing,
Regards from rsa
Not far from the Madison and the Jefferson. I haven't fished them but they look great. I went up MT287 to Whitehall and off to Missoula. Most beautiful place in the world. P.S. Eureka Solitaire or Eureka Tent, Combat, One Person tents for the motorcycle. KLR 650
Hate to change the subject Jaun, But today is the 33 year anniversary of United flight 232, in Sioux City, Iowa. I am also working at the fire station at the airport today, I know you were here not long ago to tell everyone what happened. Today, the awesome guys from the Commemorative Air Force , Gulf Coast Wing, brought their B-17 in for tours and rides, it was cool, we met a guy that flew a B-17 in 53. Looks like your having fun on your trip.
Great trip. I need to get out for one of those. I may never get off my sentence to LTD. I have to start getting out and enjoying life again. My wife and I are looking at a move to Idaho or Montana. I have been out of Enduro biking for over a decade. Never heard of gas bags before. Very cool! Fantastic way to extend range on a motorcycle. Thanks for sharing! Just don't eat the yellow snow! ;)
Jim, “just watch out where the huskies go” 😉
Fantastic 📸
I'm moving to Montana soon!
Always gotta have floss! Ties up what is needed.
Nice landscape !!
Hey, you stole my name. 😆
Cool trip!
Juan Opens with Frank Zappa! I am in.
Jenny says get off the internet and get out here 😂 Best advice I've heard in a long time to be honest.
Love, love, love this content! Idaho native here. I was going to ask about a small solar panel to charge electronics, but if you are riding all day it wouldn't be necessary. Ride safe back to Boise!
Yes, one of the best things you can fit is a USB socket on your bike, since these days pretty much all tech can charge on a 5v/2amp USB from the 12v on your bike.
If you do carry a lot of electronic devices with you, then it can be a good idea to take one of those Li-ion battery jump-start packs with you too (Antigravity Batteries make a number of compact ones), which hold plenty of juice for recharging phones and cameras, and even starting a dead bike/car/truck if required.
I would be entertained by Jenny's accent for 2 weeks alone! LOL I would have to have my 3 string guitar, folds up super small! And you mentioned "grizz" (shudder), that means my 1911 .45 to sleep on my belly!!! LOL At 70, and not much hard work, I'd need 6 months in the gym to prep!! 8) I'm also not 100% sure about the 300 Honda, A friend has a Suzuki DR-Z400s that is comfy and pulls out tree stumps. Don't think it does 80 mpg though. Now look what you've done, I'm talking about it! Thanks Juan!! LOLOL 8) Be safe out there!! --gary
