- A little tank engine travels towards his destination, under a great blizzard, but as it turns out, that is the least of his worries.
Not a very Christmas-y story I supposed, but it's been an idea in my head for a while and now felt like the right time to make it. It also marks my first go at creating my own illustrations, so I apologize if there's anything that looks off. I don't know if I'll do it again, but if I do, any feedback is appreciated.

I like to picture that thing stalking Thomas as a physical manifestation of there insecurities and deep rooted fears. However I don’t think it was trying to torment Thomas I think it was trying to help him. It was the very thing that motivated him to make the long journey to sodor in the first place and it kept pushing him to keep going and after they reached the island that thing stopped following them.
A chilling but heartwarming story. Nice origin for Thomas. I've got a feeling that other engine he saw tried to make it to Sodor many years ago but never reached it.
Loved the mystery of this story!
My own take is that the shadow engine is a mental manifestation of Thomas’ anxieties. He was mistreated where he previously worked and I imagine the threats of scrapping were commonly thrown about there. This built up in his mind and he eventually started to visualise this other “engine”.
During his escape to Sodor, his mind focuses on what would happen to him if he were caught and he once again sees the “engine” - this engine is an image of himself, an image of the state he’d be in if they caught him, salvaging parts off him until he was no more.
I imagine he still saw this image for a while after being taken in by The Fat Director. With a little help from kind, old Edward, Thomas eventually overcomes his demon.
I’d like to think that may be later on when Percy plays a trick on him with his ghostly lime cart shenanigans, it brings back memories and that’s why hes so scared of it
Holding off on the engines names was a genius move, I did not guess it would be THAT tank engine.
Wow. What a story. Despite being not part of the Horror of the Rails series, The Blizzard still brought shivers down my spine. At least the engine in question was given a happy ending. Well done.
This looks interesting! Despite Horror of the Rails ending, it's good to see you making audio stories again!
I find this hilarious that you've got a blizzard story coming out around the time in in real life am gonna get hit with a possible blizzard
Took the words right out of my mouth 😮💨👌 FACTS
I do love how this mysterious black engine is never explained it’s the same fear of the unknown factor that I was trying to aim for in (the old lead mine) but this does it way better was it a figment of Thomases imagination was it a ghost was it imaginary or was it stalking him like a predator why was he the only one who could see and hear it why does it look exactly like him it’s never explained and it forces us to piece together the puzzle and come to our own conclusions I love that
We Never really got this type of backstory on Thomas in the tv series so this was very interesting and very heartwarming to me. It makes me just want to support the Little Blue Tank Engine just a bit more
What a heartwarming story to listen to. Amazing work on Thomas’ Origin, also had a feeling that the other engines saw him make it Sodor all those years ago. But he never reached it.
This is a great spooky themed story. Especially one that takes place in a Blizzard as the title says. I'm interested on seeing more of these stories that take place in weather like this.
Well done on this! And I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
This 'shadow engine' needs more appearances so we can better understand it. 👻 🌁 🌫
Awesome, glad to see you making audio stories again. Miss the Horror of the Rails stories from you. In fact, Horror of the Rails is made me start making my own Railway Horror Story series, Called Terror on American Rails. Thanks bro.
This is a really interesting take on an origin story for Thomas, I love it!
It's a pity that no one is allowed to adapt these stories anymore, because this would really be something grand to see with imagery.
Then again, given that most of the story obfuscates the fact that it's Thomas who's the main protagonist, it'd probably lose something in translation. Not to mention how people would have to figure out how to make the shadowy engine look convincing.
Great work on this. It's a shame that we don't know what the haunted engine stalking Thomas was. I think it might be his fear, or something like that.
This was so good, chilling tense spooky, Thomas horror remains unbeaten
I wonder what tank engine he’s talking maybe Thomas,Percy, Stepney, Billy, Charlie, Oliver, Duck, Arthur, Ryan, or could be one on the narrow gauge engines idk if it’s going to be on narrow or standard gauge we’ll see when premier day🔥
Most likely Stanley. From the Great Discovery
I like the origin of Thomas
Wow. I at first didn't think this would be about thomas. But I did thought about it.
BTW this was great. Nice one
This was a rlly cool story to listen to, i thought at first the tank engine was timothy tbh, given the whole creepy pasta and was genuinely surprised it turned out to be thomas
Same here
No body knows how to write a better horror story than you do, loving the work and love all the inspiration you give to those who adapt your stories. This spine ticketing tale of Thomas’s tale had me nearly on the floor(due to having me on the edge of my seat too much😅) I can’t wait for your next instalment of your trepidational tales. Keep up the good work
Maybe that shadow that Thomas was running from was Timothy looking for him for his soul
Everybody's saying it's Thomas but the narrator said it was a GREY tank engine, not a blue one
NEVERMIND
I believe it was Timothy 100% following Thomas
I agree.
Love that twist at the end
Good job on making this spooky
Awesome can't wait to see this video
Awesome story, mate!😁
Wait, that was Thomas?! If the other engine was a stalker, could it mean… that his stalker was…
Timothy? But, not as a ghost, but more of an outdated bully?
A new take on Thomas's origins. Really Clever ending. Although I want to know about who is Thomas's ghost.
I recently had a blizzard in my home town. Hearing this story was both chilling and heartwarming. Very well balanced story. Who wrote this?
Are we allowed to adapt this? I’m only at 8:01 and my god it’s got me hooked!
Scary. I love it.
I had a feeling that the Engine might have been Thomas. Also, I think I know what Thomas Saw. It’s the Ghost of Timothy, the Silver Engine #0.
A nice horror story marry Christmas
Ooohhh ohhh I love this?! A different intro to the Thomas origins like there’s so many but like I adore Like I’m starting to wonder if that black engine was the marklin engine…
So it’s official that’s TIMOTHY because if you watch the fan made episodes ghost train he has many forms like shadow form 13:07
Well, I did not see the engine being Thomas coming!
These kinds of stories always makes me want to see the aftermath; do the original owners accuse the NWR and STH of theft? Is there a legal battle over who the engine belongs to? Does STH suggest asking the engine only to be scoffed at with the remark of "ASK the ENGINE?! My dear man, you talk as if it were a person such as ourselves and not just a pile of nuts and bolts I LEGALLY happen to own!!"?!
The audio is a little hard to hear but I loved it!
Quite the interesting story
So he basically got the same problem luck has.
That movie?
❤️❤️❤️
Too bad we don't know what the creature in the blizzard was
God I miss horror of the rails
Sorry I’m late finding this after Christmas 🪦
At first I thought it was Timothy but then when you said the name I was kinda shocked maybe the entity stalking Thomas is Timothy
Also mind if I ask you a question if you don't mind?
Holt crap so Thomas was being chased by Timothy or the slender engine
That can’t be Thomas the description said a gray tank engine that can not be Thomas
Well your right and I am wrong idk who it was but alright
@@DevonLMS your right sounds more like timothy the E2 prototype
@@DevonLMSbruh this is before Thomas came to sodor
@@brendanhanley2741 uh did you not see my other comment!?
What was the mysterious entity stalking Thomas? Please respond when you get this please.
Did Timothy saw the ghost demon that would be soon him
OOOOHHHHHH it was Thomas!
Who is this engine the tank engine saw
Someone must make a video with this story but not show Thomas face until the end and maybe the creature could be Thomas brother Timothy in his shadow form and looking for his way to soder and stoping anyone who dare to pass it by night
Series 7(2003)
Narrated by: Michael Brandon
Thomas first came to Sodor in the winter of 1915 during a haunted blizzard?!
