- In this weeks Throwback Thursday we return to an early WW'nTips-n-Tricks video for a segment on Hand Skills at the Band Saw. The band saw is "the" power tool I wouldn't want to be without as a hand tool woodworker. As such there are hand tool tricks that can be applied to get better results, easier and faster.

Your old band saw videos were largely responsible for me purchasing my band saw. It has been the heart of my shop ever since I got it. My table saw is almost an afterthought unless I need a whole bunch of perfectly sized parts. I'd rather use the band saw and then plane 3 swipes to finish most stuff. Thanks for convincing me to buy it!
im a rookie woodworker...i appreciate these tips more than you know
Excellent hand/power tool! Plus I learned 2 new tricks to save my fingers.
Great tips n tricks from the master. Good to see that my techniques/methods on using the bs are not unique. Always stay safe, take your time, sharp blade. 👍
Thank you.
I am gonna try these tips out. I have a ryobi bandsaw that I got as a gift. I have to practice with it because right now it’s a mess. Lol.
Lot of good safe info. Wish I could give you 2 thumbs up. 👍👍 Guess that will have to do 😁.
Very useful information
Amazing episode, you make a bandsaw look as convenient as a skrolsaw! Thank you for the great tips. Be safe and #Keepupthegreatwork Say "Hello" to your Dad for us. "Dad stop bendig teeth on blade supplies". 🥰😍🙏🏿🤙🏿
Holy smokes rockstar! Your hair sure grew!
good points
I need a band saw
Sorry I had to pause you@ tip 1 I can't even walk around my entire shop 8x8" 😉
my wife and kids would tell you that "funner" isn't a word. I wouldn't, but they would.
Pardon me while I look it up in the Texan dictionary. Nope der it is, rat der.
Bandsaws are the best! Couldn’t do without my 3… (paid a total of $131 for all of them and they work perfectly) I use 13mm flex back 4tpi blades which I buy by the roll and make to length by silver soldering (brazing) cost of blade comes out to around $10 each.
How are you liking that Grizzly?
Better than the jet I have. My only reference point.
You could probably redo quite a few of your old videos because of video and teaching quality
nice figure! I have one of those too but you need a haircut! that is dangerous if you get caught
There’s no need to be rude.
@@wortheffort sorry, not being rude. I am too heavy for my height and being bald, jealous of the hair but it is scary to think what could happen if it got caught in something spinning

Agreed, but the most useless band saw on the planet is a basic saw. With a max depth cut of about 3 1/4"... waste of money. Not a total waste, but seriously if you think you'll get a lot of use out of one, spend the extra bucks and get one that will really cut what you need to cut.
