    Just getting into retirement and going back to high school I was pretty good in shop. My dad retired and began making Amish furniture. I’m not that highly intelligent or motivated but I like building stuff. Thanks for sharing and I’ve learned a lot from this video and have subscribed!

    That card board 0 clearance is great. I previously used to lay down a 3 inch piece of masking tape on both sides of the blade.

    Nice video! 1st bandsaw I brought some zero clearance inserts that were stepped to fit deeper into opening. I tried cutting the kerf with smaller diameter down, blade grabbed and flipped insert forward and nicked my finger! Learned my lesson.

    Thank you for a great band saw video. Maybe it moves a little fast for this old brain, but the Chapters work great for me to get the most out of it. I'll keep the one in some of my various Playlists. To be watched every now and then, until it sinks in. 🙂
    Thanks again.

    I have a request for everyone.
    I need/want a new bandsaw. I'm looking around the 12"-14" size. I have a really old 10" Craftsman I paid $25 for and it's falling apart and I'd like a bigger one.
    Any suggestions on a brand or model?

    Is there a link to that 1/16” table saw blade?

  • @felicadawn62
    @felicadawn62 Před rokem

    All that I have at the moment (and all that is in my budget at the moment) is an older model Ryobi band saw with a 1/8 or 3/16 blade. It says I could put in up to a 3/8" in it. Is it even worth it for this saw? I have attempted adjustments as you and others have suggested but have not been able to eliminate the wandering blade. What do you think? (Great tips on this one, btw.)

    • @rexcowan4314
      @rexcowan4314 Před rokem

      That little Ryobi is a workhorse. tune it up and make a fence jig and it will cut straight all day. Check the guides ( that was my problem with that bandsaw) and be finicky adjusting them. It is a good little bandsaw. the 3/8 blade will help with the wandering.
