Awesome to hear the Falcone is running well and quiet. I'll do the tappets on mine the same way as soon as I get the new rings into a freshly honed bore. Enjoy your glass of red. My choice is of a Puglian vintage. Take care.
I found the tappets better than before but please use a compression tester before and after setting them. Red wine seems to be becoming the choice of men of a certain age.
Your garage also looks shinier somehow! A really great place to enjoy those little victories! Nice to see you're well and looking on the brighter sides of silver linings! Lately I've exchanged my thumper for pedals and have been using it to take the youngling to school! Very much felt like a fish out of water at the start but as it's only about a mile each way it's just enough to keep me interested for the health benefits without being entirely overwhelmed heh! It has started me looking at side-car setups though like the BEAUTIFUL MOTO GUZZI GALLETTOs. Would love to know if you've come across any. NTX is sat on a trickle charge though for now... Cant wait to book her in for the big service (20K or whatever it is), and head out in the new year! The prospect of blowing off the cobwebs is what keeps me chipper, and if you're short on a wingman I'd be more than delighted to oblige where possible! ALL the best old bean! Always a pleasant treat seeing your vids pop up :) ✌😁
My cycling days are well and truly behind me though I will admit I was never really a fan of peddle power. I don't think I have ever come across a Galletto in the UK but there must be a few I'm sure. The NTX is a cool bike, servicing Guzzis is not at all difficult. I always enjoy riding with other bikers so more than happy to find a route to go for.
With you regarding the wine! Also what do you consider is the correct grade of oil for the Falcone? The owners handbook suggests straight grades changed with the seasons, but others run multi grade 20w-50 all the time.
@@oldguyinshed1703 thanks for that, I will follow your tip regarding tappet clearances and get them close to zero when cold. I have subscribed as I really like your “shed” chats.
@@classicrider5274 please be careful with the tappets as the exhaust valve can be troublesome give it a little more clearance than the inlet. I will be talking about this as I don't think I was very clear about it
Good morning sir. It's me again! A question...2008 Stelvio 1200 Is it a 4 valve or an 8 valve?Does it have the 'flat tappet' problem? Thank you in advance
As far as I am aware all Stelvios were 8 valve engines. Also the engines that had valve issues were a production run of Norges and were sorted on recall. If any of those bikes of that time are still running then they were fixed. If its running around now I would think it will run for many more miles to come.

Can totally relate to "little victories", which I'm always hoping and looking for. Kind of gave up on the big ones.
I just like the idea that it's not all uphill. Big victories sometimes go unnoticed because of the pace of life. Small stuff is always in your face

Hooray for little victories, nice to have you back.
Even if your still rambling.
Rambling is what I do, even more so when I have small victories.
@@oldguyinshed1703 l would like to wish you many more small victories.
Hey old guy, great to bump in to you yesterday at the oasis !! Sean Hogan (blue NF 500)
Really good to meet you as well, how do you feel about doing a comparison episode some time with my Civille model.

Enjoy your libation to the motorcycle God's. Maybe try an Australian Shiraz, you never know it might be a small victory 🍷
Already have tried many Australian reds and enjoyed them all.

I personally use Castrol 20/50 Classic mostly because it's easy to get. So far no problems.
