    Excellent video. The oil in the charge pipe is from the PCV pipe. If you don't reduce it it will cause the piston ring oil jet jam and the Cat and particulate filter clog. You can install a oil catcher in the PCV line to greatly reduce that

    The charge pipe on my 13 E70 never went. But when I traded in for a 17 F15 I upgraded the charge pipe.

    Can you do a video on how to replace the charge air hose on a 2013 BMW X5 xDrive35i? This hose is on the passenger side and goes from turbocharger to the intercooler. Thanks.

    So, that pipe goes from the front-mounted intercooler to the intake manifold, right?

    • @Scotford_Maconochie
      @Scotford_Maconochie Před 2 lety

      The charge pipe runs from the intercooler "cold" boost pipe to the intake manyfold.

    My tuner says they don't bother doing charge pipe installs on X series vehicles. Only sedans and coupes. And this is with a Stage 2 tune pushing 410 HP at 20 PSI on E70 X5 35i.

      Tuner is likely only going by what comes into their shop, otherwise, the comment makes zero sense. Anything with the plastic charge pipe would benefit.

    Oh an aluminum charge pipe 👀. but no dinan piggy back to put that charge pipe to work. Oil residue in the charge pipe is ok. Oil pooling in the charge pipe is not good. I’d suggest pulling the hot side pipe off the intercooler I’m guessing it’s got a good amount of oil in it. Which means your turbo seal peaced out. Just an excuse to get a bigger turbo.

    • @EvanGoyuk
      @EvanGoyuk  Před 3 lety +2

      I would be pissed if my seals were already bad lol

    • @StreetRocketJoe
      @StreetRocketJoe Před 3 lety +1

      Evan Goyuk well get ready to be pissed. 😂 like I said just pull the hot side charge pipe off the intercooler and see how much oil comes out. If it’s a surprising amount then you need to do some turbo investigation.

    • @johnstuart3851

      A small amount of oil in the charge air piping is normal. It is from oily aerosols from the crankcase ventilation system condensing in the piping and intercooler. A Mann&Hummel ProVent crankcase ventilation oil separator will prevent this and keep the charge air piping and intercooler clean.
