Sean’s death was straight out of a horror movie. First you hear Wade screaming his name, then you hear his muffled shrieking from behind the door, then both Wade AND Bob are calling for him and trying to get to him in time, and then they finally get the door open and you just hear a tentative ‘Sean?’

Sean's death was perfect. Everyone's all happy they guessed the ghost and merrily strolling back to the truck. Mark then hears a scream and turns around and all the lights are flickering and you can hear Bob and Wade's panicked jabbering and Sean's muffled screams and pleas. And then the lights turn out and all is silent.

Wade's scream of Sean was so realistic - he was actually terrified. And then there was Sean's muffled screaming and Bob's slightly laughing "Oh no" and Mark was freaking out and thinking of ways to save him.

The voice chat in this game is underrated. The way your sound echoes and muffles more over time before you die and the voice recognition for the ghosts are amazing.

Here are a few tips from Jack's video, thought it would be useful here:
ON the radio, if the ghost starts to say "death, kill, attack" that means it is getting ready to/already HUNTING
When the ghost HUNTS it picks a player to chase and attempt to kill.
When the lights and flashlights repeatedly flicker, find a closet and hide in it and do not speak in voice chat, stay silent. That is your best chance of survival.
If you hear heartbeats, -DO THE PREVIOUS STEP FASTER-, this means YOU are a target, if the ghost touches you, you will die
Depending on the ghost, more then one or even everyone's heart will beat, meaning the ghost only wants the first one it catches.
First step I usually take, is keep any closet you come across in mind for hiding, then set up equipment.
some ghosts kill faster, some not at all.
the DEMON and MARE are two of the fastest killers, as they hunt very frequently. however the MARE only hunts fast if the PLAYERS are in the dark. [Nightmare anyone?]
the SPIRIT and SHADE are some of the slowest, the spirit is the most common ghost, and the shade is very shy.
ONI also hunts rather fast, but not as fast as the DEMON
no matter the ghost, saying its name will anger it, the more you say it, the more likely it will spook you, or even attack. Even SHADES get pissed at this!
You do not have to say the ghosts name in a question, simply asking "are you here" or "are you near" are fine, saying its name only provokes it so it can speak, which is normally not needed if you found the room it is mainly haunting.

Is it just me who finds Phamophobia so so much scarier than other horror games but at the same time so very addicting? I don’t know what it is exactly but something about the atmosphere and it feeling very real and grounded in reality makes this game stand out to me. Also it is so much more complex and deep than what you first would think. Hope Marc and the guys play it again sometime :D

The way that wade yells for Sean who was cut off by the door is what really sets the drama of the situation. Hearing that bloodcurdling scream as mark turns around to see what’s happening is a perfect representation of how horrific the experience was. To top it all off, mark gets this insane view of the lights flickering on and off through the the house as we hear Sean’s deep muffled screams.

When Jack and Bob were laughing their asses off, I honestly didn't understand why, given Mark's death looked and sounded extremely intense. Then you look at it from their perspective and it's the funniest thing I've seen in years. The fact that Mark screamed so loud, the proximity chat picked him up all the way over there.

And the others trying to save him, "The door is open-!" But he was already dead.
Also, I love the way that Lixian makes it look like a horror movie too. I watched some of the stream too, and really. I am just amazed.

Funny story: I was using my ouija board at my great aunt's lakeside cabin with my friend and talked to this ghost named Ryan or something who was 53. We asked him if there where other kinds of spirits and he said yes. We asked him what other kinds there where and he responded "dead." We were streaming it on insta and a friend of mine said "Ryan. Spirit of Dead." My friend and I were laughing our asses off and teasing Ryan so much he left.
As someone interested in spirits, the term "ghost" is often seen as offensive to them, with many prefering the umbrella term of "spirit". Other than that, "demon" is another umbrella term, which includes the spirit types of "shadow demon", high-powered spirits who hunt anyone who utters even the name of their classification, and some witch's familiars obtained through dark magick.
Long story short, don't mess with demon spirits unless you know how to handle them. They will attack anyone they perceive as a threat.
Also, yes I do work with spirits and do partake in witchcraft. Believe me or don't about the existence of spirits. If you do believe me and are curious about the spirits I work with, i have worked with a range of spitits, from protective guardians to an oni who resided in my high school Chem lab. The spirits currently attached to me are a guardian called Cedric, a trickster called James and a shadow demon called Anastasia (I prefer to only refer to the spirits i work with by the name and/or titles they want me to use some that they feel comfortable and still have privacy around their identities). Ana has been with me since I was a child after almost killing me via possession, and is who got me interested in this area.
Don't worry, were all good now and I've trained myself to become almost immune to possession after that incident, so if a spirit does try to possess me, I can get out of it with at most a headache and a nosebleed. A series of incidents of this coming in handy was actually with the Chem lab oni I mentioned earlier. She wasn't thrilled with me being in the room, especially if another spirit accompanied me to school that day (which they are free to do as long as they stay close to me and don't cause any trouble. James likes to mess with electronics, which has made for some fun physics and ICT lessons over the years, but those are stories for other times). Pretty much, every time I had a lesson in that Chem lab, 30 mins into the lesson I would have to leave due to a nose bleed, without fail. This continues for a solid month before she acknowledged that neither I nor any other spirit meant her any harm and she left me alone after that. Still got some weird glances from my classmates, unsurprisingly.
