It's scratching a very niche itch that's very very pleasant.
A perfect start. Cthulhu doesn't rely slavishly on dice rolls, but has more emphasis on imagination and storytelling, which this group has no shortage of!
Pyrion is a fucking treasure.
The poor man with those failed rolls though. I felt that.
He rocked the rolls where he needed to see something though.

She’s really great when she gets going! Hopefully her character gets to engage in some more elaborate shenanigans next episode

1:02:55 It's amazing how close Tom actually got with Black-Hooded Tit. I looked it up and the actual Massachusetts state bird is the Black-Capped Chickadee, chickadees being in the same family as tits (Paridae). I'd say Tom rolled a hard success on that Ornithology/Fast-Talking check
Someone should really take a look a Pyrion's dice, because I'm pretty sure he got nothing but 70s for the entire game
Either 70s or 00s. I swear his rolls were all either super successful or super horrific.
Yeah, I think someone needs to salt and burn those dice. Clearly some demon has possessed them.
Legit might be an issue, I heard somewhere (might even have been in a Tom video) that most dice makers only really care about making D6s fair because people are used to them and notice if they are off. D100s, D10s etc. are often made imperfectly and can end up quite severely imbalanced.
Lydia saying her character has never seen a dead body before is so funny considering the adventure that predated this on Tom's channel.
I am guessing it is just the difference between "freshly deadified person" and an old rotten body. 2 different kinds of shock.

I love that Tom gave a couple of off-hand ideas that would be perfect for a disintegrator and then Lydia went straight to crimes against humanity.
The mega release has made this kickoff an exceptionally enjoyable weekend. This squad has an exceptionally fun chemistry even or especially when the dice are being a bit uncooperative.
The accidental fatal poisoning gave me Prof. Griswold throwing the rock at the night watchman vibes.

Having the “Last time on Mystery Quest-“ is an absolute Godsend, thank you so much.
I always love how quickly everything escalates when they do any sort of roleplaying. They went from trying to see if the people at the auction had anything of note in their suitcase to murder and framing. And their solution was to smash more windows and make themselves throw up.
I love everyone's different reaction at 43:00. Surprise, excitement, apology, and a call for a camera.
I hope Gabe shows up in other stories as well
