The fact that the teahouse-brothels did actually serve tea led me to imgaine a teahouse where they end up actually selling such good tea where people go to buy some without even ordering the main service. Something like that probably happened at least once.

i mean i do this shit tbh. i went to a casino with my sister JUST for the go figure...buffolo wings and sandwiches x'D...and this drink they made. I went to a not full strip - club solely to comfort and keep her company when she had hardships with relationship etc problems. I also just did some shit to get out of the house. If i ever was in the money and area and shit and mood, id only visit something like this for the food/tea and if i decided to be kind and "hire" a patron, id just talk to them and hang out and shit. And also was visited by very regal people and were huge historians of usual nonbias and were often holders of many secrets. They're talents were through the roof too. Not to mention even today Geiko do events from time to time with those keeping the traditions of the Oiran Alive. You can even experience them in Japan and its a rather amazing experience. Highest rank had a much higher degree of choice, but was ultimately still tied to her brothel and had to literally pay for her elevated status, so had to accept customers eventually. This rank also had the most ceremony and were the ones who wore date hyogo. The rank below that had some choice but same story as the highest rank but less likely to reject a customer. And if I recall correctly, the lowest rank either didn't have the ability to reject customers at all, or had limited ability to do so. It's been a while since I brushed up on the subject.

Unfortunately, it is exactly as Saitaina said. Back then, it was just part of life. As far as I’m aware, it was like that all over the world. Anyone having sex had at least one std. unless you were exceptionally lucky and had a truly faithful spouse and you yourself were loyal and kept those legs crossed, you were contagious. Of course during the big witch hysteria it was also a sign of witch craft and, as usual, always the fault of the woman. Back in those days life just sucked

Nostradamus actually had a rose petal preparation thay was a crude but very effective penicillin extract. This was during The Black Death, bubonic plague (of which he treated with success using the above). Just the formula and efficacy didn't spread far, wide nor fast. Being old timies and all. So Flemming isn't really the father of antibiotics, or Nostradamus atleast is the Grandfather of them.
Also germ theory is older than credited. Going back even as far as ancient Hellenic Greece. There were philosophers and physicians who realised "small living things" cause sickness and respond to remedy. Again, just not as widely known and understood as absolutely the fact of the matter.

Sex is, after all, just as much of a human need, impulse, and experience as art, conflict, or any of the other things that are more often talked about in history lessons, and it is really just the prudish christian morality that is thankfully fading away that has excluded this outlook from mainstream history.

watching grown man grope and feel up, or be just affectionate with another grown men playing a female role in kabuki is really sexy/kinky ... it is male-male melo drama with real poetry and great theatre, oh and really good acting, often with dom/sub elements ... you never think of the female character as a real female, you always notice it is a cover up, like in theatre you always know that the moon on stage is fake, because you know its is fake, therefore you have to actively pretend/imagine it is not ...
