  • Change, if implemented poorly, can cause unrest. In the North, a great House that had presided as the utmost authority in the region second only to the crown fell through dark and dishonest means, replaced with a sword to the neck and a knife to the heart. The new Wardens of the North commanded their subjects through both diplomacy and force, but that hardly meant all was well. Even without the final participant from the War of the Five Kings marching down from his temporary residence at the Wall, some northern folk disapproved of their new liegelords, and none more than the lord of White Harbor, Wyman Manderly. Hello everyone, and welcome back to Exploring Fiction. Rotund and rather unassuming, Wyman Manderly settled for the new state of affairs the end of the War of the Five Kings, though more out of desperation than satisfaction. Still, it was clear by his words and actions, maybe even those that have yet to be revealed, that he was looking to wage war in the periphery. While Stannis stormed toward the gates of the Boltons’ new Winterfell, Lord Manderly looked to create disruption from within. The North was different, but the petty ways of the nobles remained the same. So, who exactly is Wyman Manderly, and why is he such an interesting character? Let’s explore…

    One thing I like about Wyman is that he shows how big a threat Tyrion could have been if he could have acted less proudly. Great video as always.

      Wyman laughs and keeps to himself but he knows what he is supposed to do, and he will do it right under your nose.

    This, this guy is a very good politician, which, actually makes him more terrifying than half the cast, who are probably going to die by the fault of their own pride.

    Another way you can be CERTAIN The meat pies were the freys. Is that in most food circumstances? George is very very very very specific as to what is being consumed and in this case it's just "meat pies" and I don't think that's unintentional

      Between them and House Reed the north will be regained for the Starks when it’s least expected- I hope!

    Lord Manderly reminds me a bit of Littlefinger. Both aren’t warriors because of their physical limitations but both use their minds as weapons yet are underestimated by their opponents. But the main difference between the two is Littlefinger is only loyal to himself while Manderly is very loyal to the Starks (simce the Starks gave the exiled Manderly family a home in the north)

    I love that this dude WILLINGLY became a cannibal for revenge sake. I hate how the show butchered all of the cool as fuck side characters to basically extras

    I don't think the Wolfs Den is a luxuries prison. Its just Davos had a nice cell. There are other places that he probably be much worse. Definitely smells much worse.

    Is this voice done using AI? Because why are the titles of the books read in such a weird way?

    • @ExploringFiction
      @ExploringFiction  Před 24 dny +4

      Haha it is not! I just accentuate the titles differently. I don't even know why, maybe just because I italicize them in my scripts

    • @kennyhudson9201
      @kennyhudson9201 Před 24 dny +2

      @@ExploringFiction LOL. Oh okay. It's even funnier, because that's how I imagine an AI would read italicized words. I actually thought that was causing it. You read the rest well, so don't worry about it.
