- Let's talk about Dorne Part 4: Aegon the Conqueror vs Dorne.
And then let us fall asleep and dream of dragons...but not dragons brutally burning castles over and over. Nice dragons. Like that one from the Never Ending Story. You know. That Luck Dragon? I think. I was very, very, very young when I saw that movie. Pretty sure I wasn't even born when it came out. But that guy seemed cool. Letting that weirdo kid ride around on him. Didn't even charge him anything. Maybe that's how he gets kids addicted. The first one is free. Then BOOM! Addicted. He's charging you $100 per ride and soon you're stealing from your parents just to get one more ride.
I wonder when this video will load. I thought my internet cable was fixed, but this is ridiculous. It's not like I put out graphic heavy videos. Most the time I'm pretty sure people think I record these videos using a potato. Maybe I do. Sure sounds like it sometimes. Oh well. You're supposed to suck at hobbies for a while until you get better at them. I wonder if a serial killer has ever said that. This got dark. I'm going to stop typing now.

House stark bent the knee without fighting.
Dorne fought against dragons for remaining independent.
Still at the end of season 8,when north goes independent dorne decides to remain under the rule of a cripple northern boy.

Orys and Aegon really have no right to get angry. They were after all invaders and the Dornish were only defending themselves. It's not the Dornish's fault they were smarter than the Targaryens.

So Quyburn's great invention was something that existed for almost 300 years

Guerilla tactics worked well for Dorne leaving them unbowed in the end

Great video! I like how Dorne is unique with the salty/sandy/rocky thing (might have the third part wrong). The North is huge yet seems more homogeneous than Dorne despite them both being "isolated."

Ok I admire House Targaryen in the ASOIAF current timeline but seriously in the entire thing House Martell is the shit! I really hope they survive. The show just killed them all. The Targs did the right thing by subtly kissing up to them.

I still don't understand how Dorne survived dragon fire. Burn the crops in the fields then roast everyone their castles Harrenhall style. Independent spirit doesn't magically generate food from ashes.

They have a small population so they don't need a large amount of food; that doesn't mean that many of them didn't die of hunger and starvation. But they're sort of nomadic so I guess they lived off the land. They could have done fishing as they were historically a river faring people.
@@muhammadeisa1459 they constantly raided high garden and the Stormslands and if they didn't steal enough food, they could simply trade the captured loot & prisoners with the free cities in exchange for food supplies
I know people really like aegon the conqueror but even he had more then just a little bit of crazy in him. Also having seen all your videos I was thinking about the history of all these houses and the ancestors and how it's all reflected in today's time for each house, it's really fascinating to me. There is a lot of consistency between each house. Anyways thanks for the video :)

Rawrist Thank you! Do you have Prophecies on your list? This is just a separate question about Tyrion being a Targaryen. Do you think he is the Mad Kings son? If so, the possible 3rd head of the dragon? What i've noticed in the show; they emphasize (somewhat) that Tyrion is not good on horses. In the season 5 finale and also in season 4 when Pod says to Brienne that Tyrion prefers litters (meaning small horses??). Thats the irony, he cant ride a horse for shit. But YES! he can ride a dragon like a champion!

Do they have camels in Dorne I can't remember if they mention it in the books. They seem ideal for the region.
There aren't any camels in Dorne. They're apparently uncommon west of the Red Waste in Essos. When Daenerys first sees one in the books she has no idea what it is.

I just loved how Dornish people gave those proud Targaryens a hard lesson. No matter how many fancy titles he added before his name, it won’t change the fact that Aegon and his sisters were invaders. Dornish people were living peacefully under their own ruler. Aegon disturbed their peace. Dorne has every single right to defend them against those tyrants and they succeeded to kill one of them. Dorne is absolute Chad.

With the way Dorne was populated/set up city wise, and the 3 different types of Dornish, how hard was/is it to unite and keep the various houses united? Seems like Dorne isn't as politically cut throat within its lands.
Reef Musallam There are still rebellions within Dorne. Yronwood in particular is still salty over the Martells ruling Dorne. Luckily the Martells have some very loyal Houses that back them up.

LastScorpio84 I won't do in front of camera right away for GoT videos. It will be my other content. However, I got severely sunburned again before I finished filming 2 videos. I just can't win this summer, no matter how much sunscreen I use. So I'm waiting for lobster face/chest/arms to go away a bit and try again. I figure by the time I film again later this week/early next week every one will see the update video =D Always the excuses with this one but I have lobster skin proof!
BvS. I am hesitate to say this film will be good, but I've watched that trailer 10+ times and I'm freakin' excited. Ben as Batman was not cringey at all, which is what I feared. Jeremy as Alfred is going to be great (he's an amazing actor in general). I like the philosophical discussion (among other things) a virtual God living on our planet would have for us. Which is what this movie is (hopefully) touching a lot on. And dear lord do I want to see Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman going at it.

What's on the letter?
I believe it's because of the terrain plus it doesn't matter what kind of army you have in Warfare if you can't master the terrain you don't stand a chance against your enemies just like the Romans in Germany during Ancient Rome plus Dorn is nothing more than rock and Hot Desert Sand which possibly held back aegon from using the full force of the army and using offensive counter attacking plus the Dornish possibly used gorilla warfare and support heavy weaponry against the dragons

Dorne is way too op, doesn’t makes sense.
Not really, their military strength isn’t that good. If it wasn’t for that letter they would probably get conquered because they received heavy losses and dorne was almost a ruin. And aegon continuing the assaults on dorne they wouldn’t survive for long but that letter somehow saved them. Plot armour is the right word imo not OP. George had to somehow create some nonsense like an unknown letter to save dorne from being conquered. Even without dragons daeron conquered dorne and almost won all his battles. But then the dornish breaking oath and killing a person under peace banner saved them.
